Texas Serves Up Deep-Fried Butter
At this year's State Fair of Texas this guy thought it'd be a swell idea to sell deep-fried butter. It joins the ranks of deep-fried Oreos, Snickers bars, and Coca-Cola.
You don't have to be a health nut to know this is deep-fried death!
Nowadays, with more and more people urging Americans to eat healthy, this dude figured wrapping butter in dough and frying it is just genius.
Oh, and It comes in cherry and garlic too. Eek!

At least butter is a natural food. The dough and crappy oil are a bigger problem than the butter!
ReplyCan't see a problem with enjoying a treat like that once a year.
Replygross. just gross.
ReplyI am not a butter fan so this did nothing for me. I saw the story everywhere. I, personally, think it is disgusting. Not my idea of a treat.
ReplyI saw this somewhere else and there was a poll asking if you'd try it or if you'd skip it because it was too fattening. I immediately thought "Who cares if it's fattening, that sounds absolutely NASTY tasting!"
ReplyIt's not going to kill you to have it once a year, and I'd try it if it sounded good, but it just doesn't. Eewwww!
ReplyI agree, there's nothing wrong with a treat, but that sounds disgusting! If I was at a fair and wanted a treat I'd be heading for the ice-cream stand. Deep fried butter makes me feel ill!
ReplyFact: ive never bought butter in my life, actually, i hardly use theses types of condiments... the type that you spread on stuff (like cream cheese, margarine, etc). I never grew up with butter and cant stand the taste... although, i wont turn away food made with butter, i just wont use it myself.
ReplyThis makes my stomach churn! I mean, what happens to the butter when it gets fried? It melts completely and gets soaked up by the pastry. So you would get really dripping fatty pastry.... Urgh...
ReplyI'm guessing they do it like they do fried ice cream...they probably freeze it first so it doesn't completely disintegrate in the hot oil.
