CoffeeSlender: Weight Loss Coffee?

coffeeslender.jpgCoffeeSlender is being released in the UK (link).

The Norwegian coffee drink has become one of the fastest selling weight loss products in Scandinavia (src)- and even has a number of clinical trials to back up its claims.

The Coffee Slender drink is essentially an instant coffee that contains 200mg of Svetol per sachet. Svetol is an extract from green Robusta coffee bean (Robusta is a species of coffee (caffea) plant). Svetol has been available as a dietary supplement since 2002.

Since that time a number of studies (PDF) apparently show that Svetol helps regulate blood glucose levels, and spurs weight loss.

The people at CoffeeSlender claim that CoffeeSlender "can help you lose around twice as much weight compared to dieting alone."

Will this become the next major fad supplement?

"Will this become the next major fad supplement?"

Probably not. We already have a similar product – Slim Coffee.

Well, it's not for me I guess, I very rarely drink coffee, and it says to drink one cup after every meal. Great for people who are coffee addicts though, I wonder how it tastes?

I believe 98% of people who "diet" do not sustain any weight loss so twice times zero equals...honest advertising...Geez!!

I bought this product when i went to norway over the summer. I tried the product for a week and i lost nothing, it just had me running to the bathroom all day long. So unless you have a problem with regularity I wouldnt take this product. Its just another scam.

I work for the UK distributor of CoffeeSLENDER. Perhaps I could clear up a few points;

1. CoffeeSLENDER costs £11.95 for 21 sachets (one weeks supply) or £29.99 for a 200g tube (one months supply)
2. Its not a scam - our claims are backed by rigouros studies performed by qualified independant third parties. Unlike other companies, our studies are available to download on our website. Our evidence has also been positively reviewed by suitably qualified professionals.
3. Its not an "overnight weight loss" or "miracle" product. You need to drink it after meals for at least a month to get the benefit. You also need to diet for it to be effective.
4. Unlike other products, our Studies are available for everyone to see for themselves on our website - www.coffeeslender.co.uk

Hope this helps

David

This is a prime example of fraud marketing campain that makes people lose weight unhealthy. Fokes, Keep this "weight loss" junk out of your diet. Instead, try eating "weight loss" fruits and vegtables and stay away from tras fats. You'll lose weight healthier there.

As with all supplements, you have to do your part.
At the bottom of some weight loss supplement there is a statement to the effect 'when used with a diet and exercise program' and when the weight loss companies advertise a person's weight loss they add 'not typical' even if it is just a couple of pounds.
If you are willing to be running to the bathroom and want a little extra help this sounds like a program for you.

Just what we need... another weight-loss supplement.
Do people really get roped in to buying this stuff?
Coffee itself has been known to curb your appetite.
Oh well, somebody will get rich off this idea.

Hey James!! This one's for you Buddy! On Good Morning America today which is broadcast from New York City, the Muppet character Kermit the Frog was a featured guest. When asked if Miss Piggy was with him, he answered," No, they won't let her in, she's got too much TRANS-FAT!!" HaHa!!

And if you sit as far from the restroom as possible, you could lose even more weight, haha.

I'm from Norway. In Norway, it is illegal to advertise these kinds of products with claims that have not been proven in proper scientific studies. You have to be able to document that it does what you say it will do. I've never really heard of this stuff before; I may have seen it in supplement shops. It hasn't been in the news so maybe their noses are clean. I'll look further into it later on :)

I have bought some coffee slender over the web couple of weeks ago. Am very pleased with my 3 lb weight loss. I had not changed any eating habits other than to replace my usual "after meal" coffee with coffee slender. P.S. Suffered no adverse toilet effect either :-)

Coffee slender is a completely fake product and is a scam. CoffeeSlenderUSA.com runs some con art scheme where they give you a free sample but trick the customer to be billed on a recurring billing. Product is a gimmick. The company is run by some con artists from the dietary supplement industry.

I’m an American living in the UK and I’ve been drinking coffee slender for a couple of months now – I was a sceptical at first, but it definitely helped my cravings for snacking to drop off and the pounds seem to be following. No side effects noticed, although I have always been a big coffee drinker anyway, so it was easy to switch to it

Regarding the above post, please note Slim Coffee has NOTHING to do with Norwegian developed CoffeeSLENDER and shouldn't be confused with it. Unlike many other diet products on the market, CoffeeSLENDER and its active ingredient are supported by independently carried out clinical studies which have been published in peer-reviewed journals (3 at the last count). All this information is avaialable for consumers to read on our website at www.CoffeeSlender.co.uk.
