Fitness Challenge: Board Game

When I saw mention of the Fitness Challenge board game - my first thoughts were "how do you get fit playing a board game?"
The game is more of a motivational tool than a "sit down and roll-the-dice" game.
Game rules are designed to motivate you to exercise at least three days a week, every week, for eight weeks. From walking to mountain climbing, the range of workout choices accommodates any lifestyle.
The idea is to pick a partner, and motivate (or compete with) one another over a period of 8 weeks. The game provides the tools and the ideas, and even wagering coupons - which can be used if your gaming partner fails to live up to their goals.
A great idea.

Wow! Yes, that is a great idea! How novel!
ReplyIts kind of like the fitness version of the Cash Flow 101 game!
I like the idea of this! It addresses a problem that millions and millions of people face and approaches it in a completely new way. Much kudos to them and I hope it really takes off!
ReplyI am doing The Fitness Challenge with my husband now and it's working great for us. The goal of the game is to get at least three workouts in every week for eight weeks. The point system is really clever because if you don't get the third workout in by Sunday, it's very difficult to win the bet (and I've found myself on my stationery bike late Sunday on a few occasions!). We hung the scorecard on our fridge. Watching my husband put his stars up really makes me get out there and get my workout in. I also like the fact that there are so many workout options and there are levels for beginner, intermediate and advanced. If I win, he has to plan our vacation, clean the house, and do our laundry for a month. I would definitely recommend this game for anyone who can't stay motivated.
Replyi dont know what these comments are about but do you think that a girl thats 12 years old and ways 135lb is normal?
ReplyTina: if the girl in question is 5'2" or taller, yes, then the weight is completely normal. If she is 5'1" or under, then she is borderline overweight.
ReplyWhat a great idea! I can see this helping me get out and be more active over eight weeks. Now if only the weather would improve.
