The Caveman Workout
65 year old Dan Hamner has an unusual exercise program. He calls it "Cave Man Medicine".
"Cave Man Medicine" opens with a Tarzanesque pounding of the upper abs, then the midsection and again on the lower abs, at the top of your pelvic bone.
Yes - just like King Kong, Hamner's routine actually includes hitting yourself in the gut.
"Striking the body causes muscle contractions," explains Hamner, who is the physician for the New York Runner's Club. Like that other form of self-abuse known as ab crunches, he says, those contractions strengthen muscle and burn fat.
Lookout for the workout video soon...
I can die now. I'm sure I have now seen it all!
Replywow
Replyoh come on that is the craziest thing I've read in a long time
ReplyYou mean you're not going to try it :)
ReplyI think I just lost a pound from laughing so hard.
ReplyThat seems like another set yourself up for failure excorsie program...
ReplyHmmmm....how do you explain the bruises to your doctor? LOL
ReplyLaugh all ya want, but has anybody ever seem a professional boxer work out?! Not only do they run, punch & spar, do hundreds of situps, etc....they actually have to endure numerous gut punchs....it does harden the abs!!! Also, consider the prep workouts for a martial arts competitor! Just because the AVERAGE person wouldn't endure it, doesn't mean it doesn't actually work!
ReplyOK, even if it does work which I highly doubt, would you want to risk someone seeing you do this? And what will the workout video be called?
Reply"Pound Away the Pounds"
"Obesity;Don't Beat Yourself Up About It!"
"Thank You Sir. May I have Another?"
And why do the movies "Fight Club" and "Fear" come to mind?
wat the heck
ReplyWouldn't lightly slapping the abs also make them contract? It would be safer and far easier to stick with. And you'd get to play drumbeats on the ol' bowlful o' jelly.
ReplyWhat else does he do?
Replyi like abs exercise that don't involved so much time to implement and at the same time gives out top effects for your abs.
