Make Your Own Diet Blog

Blogs are huge. The blog tracking site Technorati has information on over 12.8 million blogs - a truly bewildering number.

Diet and weight loss blogs are a popular phenomenon. I'm referring to those blogs that are personal journals. Some are gritty and explicit. Some are nothing but weigh-ins and daily calorie counts. However they all have a purpose. There is something about journalling that offers therapy to the writer and in turn leaves the reader feeling like they are not alone.

If you want to start your own basic blog or journal - where do you go? You don't need necessarily need to have technical or web developments skills, as there are numerous hosted options. Google's Blogger is the most popular, but there are also community based sites - such as LiveJournal or Xanga.

This week I was alerted to a new free blogging tool just for diet journals - called My Diet Blogger. I asked the developer of the site why he decided to start such a project:

I feel that writing is very important. Writing about successes and failures helps people to express their internal problems, and allows them to analyze their weakness and strengths openly. I have been keeping a diet journal for a very long time and it really is an emotional release. Diet blogging will not only allow this release, but will allow other people to comment and motivate dieters to keep on fighting the battle.
Perusing through most diet journals shows without doubt that losing weight is a real challenge. It shows that there truly is no quick fix. It's a daily decision to make better choices, to get out and exercise your body, and to keep on going even when everything seems like it's failing.

If you feel like journalling your weight loss journey, maybe it's time to setup a diet blog - hey, you're not alone - there are 12.8 million other bloggers to keep you company.

I don't know much about computers I always need help. You are correct about the daily journaling being theraputic and helpful for the blogger. I viewed a lot of the blogs and many of the the sites want you to sign up, which is hard for a newbee to understand unless you know the computer lingo. A lot of them are not too interesting to me because they are not having the same struggles that I have, therefore It's hard to relate to them. That's why I try to vary my blog and complain but keep it different and interesting. Good luck to the next one who starts their blog. I am still trying to get out there in other sites to draw one viewing follower. I've been doing this daily since June and,no one. I thought this would be easier. That's okay, I think it is fun and I like doing it. I even enjoy reading my own advice and antics. By the way I love this "diet-blog" the best from any blogs I have visited, period!

Has anyone gone to the diet program blog called dietbattles(http://www.DietBattles.com )? The diet program attached to it allows you access to a dietitian and gives you the ability to create a diet plan with her help.
