Sparkpeople On-line Diet is FREE!
This is for real folks. Sparkpeople is an on-line goal-based diet and fitness program. For a short time (I don't know how long) - they are allowing 100% free memberships (I believe it's normally $2 per week).
UPDATE: SparkPeople now has gone free permanently. See the full scoop on A Truly Free Weight Loss Program.

I went the the Sparkpeople website and signed up. It seems to be a great site with lots of supportive members. Not sure I'd want to pay $2/week, tho.
ReplyI went and signed up too. But I did suddenly wonder if in a weeks time they might want to start billing me. However it says you will never be charged. The tools they offer are pretty much the same as eDiets.
I believe they are only running this over thanksgiving.
ReplyI didn't have to give a cc number anywhere, so they can't charge me unless they ask me first....
ReplyHi Everyone
I'm the Founder of SparkPeople and wanted to let you know that our special is the real deal. I promise you we won't try to charge you if you sign up during this special! We've been working hard on our site and program for the past couple of years and have seen our members get incredible results - now we want to spread the word to as many people reach their health and other goals as possible.
Jim - thanks for posting about our special on your site and good luck with your sites! I'll stay in touch and keep you updated on what we're up to if you'd like?
Chris
Replyoops, sorry - left out the word "help" as in "help as many people reach their health and other goals as possible" - I'm getting sleepy :)

ReplyI have been with Spark People since Feb. 05. I have lost 40 pounds and I feel awesome. But more importantly, I have learned so much, about myself, about my choices, and Spark People really did give me a lot of tools to move toward health. My blood pressure is normal and I can now qualify for cheaper life insurance!!!! I have maintained my weight now since Aug. (4 months)--yes, even through Halloween and Thanksgiving. When people say it's not a diet but a lifestyle change, it is absolutely the truth. I actually liked paying $2 a week--helps keep the posers and pretenders away. But it really is for real. I have no affiliation to Spark People, nor do I know any of the owners (except through chatting with them or asking questions at the site). They are from Ohio, and I live in the Pacific Northwest. If you are serious about changing your life-style and want the tools and encouragement to succeed, check it out. And if you are just wanting to lose wt. without doing the work, please don't bother. And thanks, Spark Guy--you don't know what you have done for me and my husband (and my kids, and my friends, and my co-workers!!!) You Rock!
ReplyGlad I ran into this...I was wondering if the "free" program was going to someday "bill" me. I signed up at first because of the fact that it was free. I wasn't sure how good a "free" thing was going to be. BUT because I LOVE it I was a bit freightened that, like I said, "Bill me" was going to show up in the mail. Good to know that's not the case. Glad they are around...

ReplyI've been using SparkPeople for a few weeks now. It really is totally free. I have not come across any kind of gimmick. They have never asked for my credit card number. I'm getting a lot out of it.
