I Need to Lose 100 Ibs!

I am trying reduce my weight by 100 lbs. I want to see how much I can lose in 156 days. I thought it might be good to connect with an interest group or forum, in addition to daily schedule and new eating habits.

Any thoughts?

Um ... 100 lbs in 156 days is unhealthy at best and dangerous at worst.

Instead of trying to set some kind of speed record for losing, why not focus on a healthy and sustainable way to lose the weight so that it stays off long term.

(And btw, losing weight extremely quickly like that - especially 100 lbs - can result in lean muscle loss and loose skin and stretch marks. Healthy and reasonably is better.)

He/She didn't say they wanted to lose 156 lbs in 100 days. Read the second line again.

DW, I recommend going low carb, but that's just my opinion. It worked for me, I lost 46 lbs. in 4 months and have kept it off.

        David,
Glad you lost the weight and have kept it off. I like the low-carb diet and it's worked for me in the past but I failed to keep it going.

Could you p[lease share a little more about your experience. I too need to lose about 100 lbs.
        Thanks

And Kara didn't say that DW wanted to lose 156 pounds in 100 days ... she said 100 pounds in 156 days. But apparently neither of you can read. DW said that he/she wants to lose 100 pounds. AND he/she said they want to see HOW MUCH they can lose in 156 days - not necessarily 100 pounds.

I have almost lost 100 pounds 10 to go! Its taken 4 years and a little up and down but I am doing it slowly and it is staying off. I do myfooddiary.com (great web site)swim 7days a week and have been doing weight lifting (following JP Morgans weight lifting for women) I just started it the lifting in March, amazing differance! I feel great, my advise find a partner who will stick by you. I have a friend who has stood by me the whole time! don't give up! one thing I didn't do was take pictures the whole way, make sure you do! I am healthier in everyway even did my first triathlon and won 2nd place.

I lost about 50 pounds so far with the ph miracle diet since end of september. I aim for another 70 pounds.

The diet is mainly cleansing and raw vegetables with lots of vitamins and water. So salads, raw soups and green juices.
Its not very painful for me to be on it as I barely have cravings (I like to eat carbs).

I also exercise for 45 mins a day on a cross trainer on a light setting.

I am now the famous Master Cleanse detox, but I am doing it to lose 54 pounds. I have went from 204 to 184 in 12 days. It is workin for me, and it can be done, since I am still on it, and today is Xmas! I do feel left out of the eating festivities, but I do want to lose this so bad, that I don't mind doin it at this time of year. I want to lose 45 pounds or so, by my birthdate, 1/20/2010! I am focused and on track. Sometimes you need to get some heady focus in, and no matter what, do what has to be done to get to your goal! So losing 100 pounds in 156 days is reasonable on th Master Cleanse as given by Stanley Burroughs, found at health supermarkets; but do read up on his student of the Master Cleanse detox diet to get advice on what to expect and how to mentally go about doing a diet/detox by a Tom Woloskwy. I think I may have his name correct, but I found it a Borders Bookstore, try and find it on Amazon.com. I wish you the best, and try it, I didn't do everything like the salt cleanse or the red pepper, but all-in-all I average a loss of about 1.2 or 1.4 pounds a day, depending on my activity level.

I am about to start the South Beach Diet tomorrow and I have heard very many success stories. A lot of weight lost. One of my friends lost 132 in a year. And she wasn't unhealthy either(meaning the lbs. and lbs. she lost did not put her life or body in danger). It is a low-carb diet.
