Weight Watchers: My Weight Loss Journey

Vote 4 Votes

I started weight watchers about 3 months ago and my first weight in put me at a whopping 210.

That is the heaviest by far I have ever been in my life. I am 28 years old and about 5 feet 6 inches tall. I decided I needed to do something. I have been on weight watchers for 4 months now and have lost 23 pounds as of my last weigh in on 10/1/09.

I have had a bunch of slip ups since I started and also broke my collar bone a month ago which set me back on the exercise path I was on. Now I have decided to start this blog and get serious. I will log in my calories for the day and my exercise each day.

I will also share my thoughts and accomplishments. I want to weight 145 by February 1st. I weigh in on Thursdays.

  • You can do it.

Keep on tracking your foods, fill your fridge with healthy stuff you WANT to eat (eg, I like peaches, I buy LOTS of peaches), keep moving, even if it means having to dance while folding laundry (I don't, but just saying!) and you'll succeed.

I lost 35 lbs in 4.5 months this summer. I weigh in on Thursdays too.

    Good luck!

  • Good luck on you weight loss program. Doctors say walking is one of the best exercises for you. Need another reason to walk? http://www.squidoo.com/road-litter It has worked for me.

  • I use to have trouble cooking 3 meals a day. Now I go to whole foods. I get a box and go to the salad bar. i fill the box with everything but lettuce and tomatoes. Chicken, art. hearts, onions etc. Then for lunch I can make salads, wraps and paninis very quickly. This helps because I don't depend on processed foods for quick lunches.

Congratulations on losing 23 pounds so far. That is excellent. I think Weight Watchers is great. I lost 60 pounds over 10 years ago and I have never gained it back. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on your progress Lauren! Go for it! Take good care of the collar bone as it heals. Almost 15 years ago I lost 100 pounds and have maintained it even since (with the Zone). Speaking from my experience, it's well worth the effort you're putting into it. You're doing a great thing for yourself. Stick with it and good luck to you!
