Fat Loss 4 Idiots: Not Getting the Results Promised.

I have done the fl4i 3 times and have only lost 7 pounds in total.

Everyone else seems to have lost 10 pounds or more the first time they did this diet. All of the blogs about this diet are positive. Has anyone else not lost the huge amounts that it seems everyone else has?

I've followed the diet faithfully all 3 times - 1st time - 4 pounds, 2nd time - 2 pounds, 3rd time - 1. Is anyone else out there not losing vast amounts? I also walk 10 miles per week.

You don't mention how long you stayed on the plan...4 lbs is not an unreasonable amount of weight to lose in a one-month period. You should be trying to lose the weight slowly; that way, you'll have a better chance of incorporating healthy habits permanently into your life. And you might want to increase your exercise a bit...10 miles a week is pretty good, but it won't burn an appreciable amount of calories. Maybe you could up the distance or incorporate speed intervals into the workout? Are you strength training at all?

Maybe you are not familiar with "Diet 4 Idiots". You are on it for 11 days and off for 3. It is advertised that you are guaranteed to lose 9 pounds every 11 days you are on the diet without any exercise. I was on the diet for 42 days and instead of losing the guaranteed 28 pounds I lost 7. I am quite alright with the lose of 7 pounds but the diet is so restricted that you would not stay on it for life. I can find no negative comments anywhere to this diet and was looking for some feedback (good/bad).

Any diet that tells you that you don't need to exercise is a gimmick and will not deliver what it promises without hurting you in the long term. Exercise is essential to the prevention of muscle lose while dieting plus it improves your metabolism making weight loss easier.
Stop with the gimmick diets, focus on good nutrition and develop exercise habits that you can keep.

Nonsense. Read my lips: YOU DO NOT NEED TO EXERCISE TO LOSE WEIGHT.

Indeed, very obese individuals are better off not exercising until they reach a weight that isn't going to make them highly prone to injury, not to mention premature exhaustion before they've burned enough calories to make a bit of an impact.

There's probably a REASON that no one would probably ever lose 9 lbs every time you would do that diet. If you're on a very restricted program for 11 days, you're probably ready to eat your own arm after that, so you'll probably eat everything in sight for the three days you're off the diet and potentially gain back some of the lost weight. Sounds like a diet plan that truly is for idiots...any idiot that would try it is probably not going to get decent results.

More nonsense. I've done a PSMF for 12 days and was fine after coming off of it.

Some of these diets just don't work as well as they claim they will.

I am on my 3rd day of " Fat Loss 4 Idiots". My question is, after sticking with it for 11 days and then doing 3 cheat days, dont you gain back what you loss over those past 11 days? Any time I've tried a diet and lost weight but then went off it over the weekend, guarantee I've put some if not all back on. So what happens when you go off this diet those 3 days? I havent seen any talk about what happens..do you gain?
thank you for any help on this

If you want real fat loss please consider googling a man named Lyle McDonald.

Look at my profile. See my photos. I know what I'm talking about.

To Granny - Weigh yourself on the morning of the 12th day and again on the morning of the 15th day and see if you did gain any weight. When I did it for the first time I only weighed myself on the 12th day (4.5 pounds lost) and not again until the morning of the 12th day again the second time around (another 2 pound lost). Please let me know how you did.

      Barb,
Thank you so much for responding. I have just completed day 11 and have lost 11.2 lbs to my surprise. The first thing I did was make a bowl of farina on my " cheat day",day 12 this morning, and hopefully I dont overdo it and gain it all back over these next couple of days "off the diet". I guess its reasonable to expect a few lbs gained back. I can handle that if there still shows a weight loss over the next set of 11 days on the diet after the " cheat days". By the way, I dont particularly like calling the 3 days " cheat days".. any suggestions what to renamed them?
thanks so much for your support,
      Granny

To Granny: Congradulations on losing 11.2 lbs! How did you do it? I followed it faithfully and lost only 4.5. I think as long as you space out your meals (at least 2 1/2 hrs) and eat what you want you shouldn't gain weight. I like to call the 3 days 'My Holidays'.

    Barb,
Now for the sad news. After all my hard work of losing 11.2 lbs, I have now gained exactly 9 lbs back. What did I do wrong? I had no cakes, pastries, sodas on the " cheat days". I did eat a lot of bread and butter, as my husband made home made bread. My family is as shocked as I am. I assumed I'd gain a few lbs back, I was prepared for that but not 9 lbs. maybe thats where the " idiot" part comes in, I'm an idiot to think this eating plan would work for me when none of the others have.I got my hopes up only to have them shattered. But I'm not a quitter. Once I stop feeling sorry for myself here, I'll give the program another try and plan even what I eat on the " Holiday days".
As for " how I did it" (losing 11.2lbs, I just followed the plan like you did. Since I ate only til I was satisfied, I noticed that my portion were much smaller than I normally would have had. Make sure you drink all the required water. I noticed that drinking a glass just before a meal and then one with it kept me feeling full too. I also did walking almost every day. Another consideration is that I probably weigh more than you and maybe thats why I lost more, although at my age its hard to lose and I have a thyroid condition that screws up my efforts at times as well.
But today is a new day, new beginning and I'm on the plan.
Good luck to you and the others
    Granny

FLFI have a very slick marketing machine.

I am not saying that this company do this but a lot of comapnys will set up false blogs and pay people to post comments saying that it worked for them.

I run an outsourcing company and have seen many people on elance advertising for people to post comment supporting their product.

it's hard because you dont know who to trust?

Who is the nutritionist or expert behind FLFI

      Gavin,
I'm sure there are companies that do such things. That's why I make it a practice to purchase only products or services with a money back guarantee...and I've sent many things back and always got my money back.
