What Is the Best Way to Keep Fit and Healthy?

Hi there,

Can you share your experiences, and suggest some good ways to keep fit and healthy without putting ourselves to strenuous exercises, which becomes difficult for people after a long days work?

Everyone has the right to look good and feel better.

    Exercise before going to work.

And sorry, if you aren't willing to work hard, you won't look good and reap the most health benefits.

Eat less, eat better, move more.
Be consistent in your exercises plans; I find that a work-out after work is good for me, it clears the mind, creates an escape valve between work and home.

Can we be any more lazy? OOoh ... I work hard all day, so I want to look good w/out any "strenuous" exercise. Buck up there, buddy. Many of us work multiple jobs, raise kids, and still find time to fit in "strenuous" exercise because it's important to us.

Whatever you think your "rights" are .. the fact of the matter is that you're not going to "look good and feel better" if you don't do something about it.

Talk about entitlement. I suppose you think you have the right to a high paying job w/out having to work for it either?

If you sit at a desk all day, and then go home and sit on the couch all night, you will gain weight and have no fitness whatsoever. You don't have a "right" to anything. You have a CHOICE to either do something about looking good and feeling better or not do it.

If you're "tired" after work, consider that your lack of exercise is to blame; not your job.

It's all about what you're used to. Don't make excuses like that. Nobody's buying.

The only way you should be too tired to exercise after work is if you have an active job, in which case that would function as a part of the move more part of the equation. But even an active job is no excuse: I work as a waitress which means I spend my entire work shift moving around, and I still find time to devote to exercise. Learn to wind down by cooking, or something similar. If you have a desk job, exercise while you watch television, something like that.

The only way to attain fitness is to exercise more and eat less, no matter what your job.

    * exercise first thing in the morning, make sure it's intense

    * eat high-protein, low-carb breakfast right afterwards, but not too much calories

    * eat a moderate carb lunch(I usually have wrap with roasted turkey, cheese and condiments)

    * eat a high-protein dinner with vegetables: steak, burger sans bun, broccoli, salad with fish, etc...

    * be patient. It's going to take a while till you start seeing results, then you'll plateau for a few weeks until you the weight loss begins again

    * have fun, life is short, drink some whiskey

Staying healthy for me has been getting my life in order.

I use to be extremely stressed each day. Now that I work from home and have been on a natural anti-depressant my health has started to balance out.

With no more stress in life, I don't get heartburn. I sleep great at night, I'm not overeating. I just feel great.

I would highly recommend destressing! Organize your life and take note of what is good and bad in your life now and get rid of whats killing you!
