Diet Websites and Google Ads

Vote 0 Votes

I'm wondering how much say diet websites (such as this one) have on the google ads placed on their site? I really like dietblog.com because it promotes healthy living, and not dieting per say but rather a balanced diet with regular exercise. I noticed that on the site they have google ads for weight loss programs stating "loose 10lbs in one week". How healthy can this program be? Why is a diet blog that promotes healthy living allowing a company that sells gimmick diet programs to advertise on their site?

Hi Ali. Thanks for your question. Most of it is answered on our terms page here.

Advertising allows us to pay our writers and run the site. Google Ads are only shown on older posts, and are generated contextually - meaning Google chooses the ads to show based on the content of the page.

However if there is an ad that is inappropriate we can contact Google and get it removed. --Jim
