Ways To Lose 5-10lbs?

Vote 0 Votes

I am going on vacation, and over the past few weeks I have a gained about 5 pounds - now I have a sort-of beer belly, not a big one, but a small flabby area.

I want to try to lose that area in about 3 days, but if that's impossible, I will work to get it to go away in 5 days.

Please help and give advice,

Allen

  • That's ridiculous, there is no way to do that, and to even contemplate it is stupid

Cut off your head. It weighs 8 pounds. Or try cutting off an arm or a leg.

meaning: there are no shortcuts to weight loss.

  • It took you a few weeks to gain it, it'll take you a few weeks to lose it

Cut out whatever you were eating that made you gain the weight and take a few walks, that will do it. But it will take more than 3 days.

  • Rule of thumb: Maximum amount of weight loss per week...2lbs of fat. If you just care about a number on the scale well than just stop eating for a few days and you'll likely lose water weight. However maybe that's all you beer belly is "bloating and water weight" Try drinking a ton of water to flush your system, limit or eliminate sodium, eat foods that have diuretic properties like watermelon, celery, and asparagus. Cut out dairy and meet for a weeek and see what happens. Good luck

  • Ok, so you want to lose a flabby area in 3 days but willing to stick it out for 5? Yeah, when you find out that miracle, let me know so I can make a billion dollars off it. Good luck.

    Allen,

To be able to lose 5 lbs or more in 3-5 days I would suggest a mostly liquid diet. IT CAN BE DONE. You are NOT going to lose "flab" but you will lose water weight. You can find prepared "shakes" at places such as Walmart and try to stay around 100 cals PER SERVING. You may want to just get the powdered stuff. No fruit, NO breads!! Eat only 6 ounces of turkey or chicken per day. Also only eat 1 1/2 cups of veggies(no carrots or corn) OR 3 cups of lettuce and use light dressing. Oh, and DRINK A CRAP LOAD OF WATER, 64 ounces or more a day!!! Water flushes your system of fats and toxins.

If this is what you want to do...follow what I have told you, and it will work. OH also..dont work out this week. It will stall your loss.

FYI: This is only my personal suggestion!!

  • You could try a low carb diet like Atkins induction. That will probably let you lose some water weight, and get rid of cravings.

  • Your not going to loose much but this will help you feel "cleaner" and lighter.

Drink Senns Leaf Tea (or a cleanse tea) in the morning before any food and at night after any food.

first day eat only vegetables (steamed, raw, grilled), seafood and chicken. (in my experience turkey didn't make the cut)

second day add fresh fruit (watermelon makes you feel fat but as soon as you release fluids your hydrated and light, I like frozen grapes too)

    third day add some oatmeal/quinoa

    Just cut out processed foods.

    Enjoy your Summer :)

  • Haven't you people seen the Biggest Loser? Of course someone can lose 5-10 pounds in 3-5 days, especially if the weight was just recently put on. And being a guy probably helps too! You'll just have to severely limit your calorie intake and probably do a bunch of cardio. And avoid sodium as much as possible. Sure, you'll be cranky and weak and the weight lost probably will be mostly water, and you'll probably gain it back right away, but you probably can do it!

I would actually recommend trying a 1 day fast (No longer! Aside from being potentially rather unhealthy, you'll kill your metabolism if you do it longer).

I did that to jump start my weight loss and i did lose 5 lbs in three days. The problem is I continued with 'extreme dieting' afterwards an now my metabolism is dead in the water. So if you want to give this a go, only do it for the one day. If you want to continue your weight loss, you can lower your calories the following days, but try to get back on your 'average' eating schedule after 4 days.

For exercise that day, I jogged in place while watching TV for 1 hour, did 20 push ups (2 reps of 10), and 40 crunches.

And drink, drink, drink a crapton of water.

(*note, at the time I did this, I weighed 189 lbs at 5'7"; the larger you are, the easier it is to lose weight, so if your smaller than me, don't expect the same results, I don't know ho it might work for you)
