The First Lady Owns Guns!

Everyone's talking about First Lady Michelle Obama's sleeves ... or rather, her lack of them. But with guns like hers, I wouldn't cover them up either!

The Obama's are known for making health and fitness a priority. They advocate for whole and local foods, have planted a kitchen garden on the White House lawn, and are famous for fitting fitness into their hectic schedule.

So yeah, Michelle's got great arms and she's not afraid to bare them. The arms have created such a stir that now they've got their own blog, First Guns (http://firstguns.tumblr.com/). Nick-named Thunder and Lightening, those sleek, toned arms give us a peek into the First Lady's life, from their point of view.

Got great guns yourself? Now's your chance to show your stuff. Thunder and Lightening have gotten such a great response, they're starting a Flickr group. Simply submit a photo and share your story at http://www.flickr.com/groups/firstguns/.

What are you doing to get your guns in top shape?

Given that by his own admission Obama's budget will TRIPLE the deficit in the next ten years, it seems rather trite and silly to be gushing over his wife's physique. The man is hard at work re-making American in the image of Europe. God help us all.

This may be a fitness website, but you risk alienating 50% of your audience when you start blathering about Obama's arms. Unfortunately Barry is right, the USA is in a mess and for many, the mere mention of the name Obama or Bush creates too much anguish. My suggestion for this website is to end any commentary or articles regarding present or past presidents or their wives. Politics and religion drive people insane.

The good news is that I can stop coming to this website, even though I found it to be entertaining enlightening, with much to be be learned from everyone's exeriences with fitness and weight loss.

Now there is some article about the Obama's vegetable garden. Good Bye!

Bob, you can't go to someone's blog and dictate to them what they should/shouldn't blog about. You don't like it? Click that little 'x' on the upper right-hand corner and disappear. Some of you people are too self-important and really think someone cares if you go, LOL.

There's nothing political about it. She is a prominent public figure with hot, sexy arms. And she promotes gardening. Are you against gardening and buff arms? V. strange to politicize this.

For the record, I never voted for George W., but I ate up every article I found on Laura Bush, because I thought she was intriguing. It had nothing to do with politics. I think First Ladies, in general, are interesting figures (and that may be because I'm a woman).

But KKL is right, this is a fitness site. It's not about politics, it's about what our President and his wife are doing to increase awareness about health and fitness.

To Barry & others, whether you like it or not, whether your politics are with the current president or not (yours obviously not), people & kids look up to the first family & they provide encouragement & hope for them. That is just the way it is.

Yes, this is not a political sight but the first family is generating health awareness and young people & adults alike are taking their lead. They relate to them. To me, that is a good thing. Not only do kids want to be healthy, but it has them thinking about how they can actually succeed no matter what their circumstances & they are liking school & health again.

The obesity epidemic is a tragedy & if the first family helps kids & adults change that, I am all for it.

Politics aside, you can't argue that Michelle Obama does indeed have terrific arms. She's probably the first First Lady to be as fitness-focused as she is. That being said, I like to keep my arms in shape by doing good old-fashioned pushups, triceps dips, and bench presses using freeweights. I also think that I have pretty terrific guns; maybe I'll post them on that website, lol.

Speaking of the garden...on fitness/health concious person would be working in a garden in a pantsuit. Sorry, I kinda think it was more political than a true sign and the fact that she calls it a recession garden doesn't bode well for her confidence in the president's quick fix plan. And for those of us that really are health concious let's be real it will not really help our economy. If we're all poor though our country might well be forced to be more healthy as we will have to til our own gardens and won't hire out as the presidency is doing (wish I knew how much that is costing tax payers.).

Well, if anything, hiring a gardener for their garden means they are employing at least one more person who might otherwise be out of a job. And if that particular person wouldn't have been out of a job, someone along the line has a job that they wouldn't because one more person is being employed in this capacity.

I'm a teacher. Let me tell you kids do not look to any president for health advice. They certainly don't like school anymore since his presidency. Again, as a teacher of high school students from every background, they look more to the peers directly in their lives and pop stars than they ever will to any president. Please get out of your dream world. It would be better if you could get the rap singers to rap about the importance of health or a school class like health to encourage them than to ever think kids are looking up to the president regardless of race. (For those who think not, I teach a majority of African Americans, Indians, and Hispanics, so this is not coming from a caucasian stance.)
