Kraft Foods Slashing Sodium by 10%

Media Bonnint

If it comes in a box and is labeled "food," odds are it's loaded with salt. Salt is the great preserver.

You want that powdered macaroni and cheese to last 100 years? Pack it with salt!

Should the First Lady Have Talked About Her Kids' Weight?

Tim Sloan

"Short and fat doesn't look good." This what my father used to tell me. As a "husky" kid, those were, uh, comforting words.

Mediterranean Diet Lowers Risk of First Heart Attack

Ediets

Brits Urged to Grow Their Own Food

The British government has launched a new "food strategy" for the next 20 years, emphasizing sustainability and good health. Britain's environmental secretary, Hilary Benn, said:

Food security is as important to this country's future wellbeing - and the world's - as energy security. We need to produce more food. We need to do it sustainably. And we need to make sure that what we eat safeguards our health.

So, what does that mean in practice?

Top 10 Health Trends of the Decade

I admit it, I love top 10 lists! And, as this decade draws to a close, I especially love top 10's of the decade.

The 2000's certainly had a nice blend of the progressive, the questionable and of course the utterly ridiculous. The 2000's could be defined as the decade where we waffled over carbs, incorporated technology and took exercise and dieting to new extremes.

So, here are the trends and a brief commentary on each one:
