Kellogg's Nailed Over "Immunity Supporting" Cereal

USA Today

How cool is this! Cocoa Krispies, every child's favorite dessert--err, breakfast cereal--may actually support kids' immunity.

Or so says Kellogg's. And apparently, its some sort of unexplainable food magic, because nutrition advocates don't have a clue what Kellogg's is talking about.

90 Calorie Coke: Will it Shrink You?

Tom Cassidy

Michael Pollan's Rules to Eat By

The interior aisles of the supermarket scare Michael Pollen. That's where the "new" food resides. Processed versions of what humans used to eat--Splenda with fiber, Froot Loops (now a Smart Choice!), frozen meals that are more chemicals than calories.

Since we clearly can no longer count on manufacturers having our best interest or our health at heart, Pollan turned instead to the "tribe." In an article in the New York Times Pollan writes:

Eating Sugar in Childhood Might Make You a Raging Adult

Kids WB

I didn't eat a lot candy growing up. All my Halloween chocolate ended up in the freezer, and then in cookies many months later. It was traumatic.

I don't know. I'm pretty much sugar-free now, but if someone cuts me off in traffic, it's on!

Mediterranean-Style Diet Bad For Your Wallet

A decade-long study of 11,000 Spanish university grads has shown that a healthy Mediterranean-style diet is pricier than a less-healthy typical Western one.

Late Night Snacking Makes Mice Gain Weight

paraorkut.com

You've seen it on sitcoms, the middle-aged fat guy in a bathrobe, cutting a big sandwich in the dark, by the light of an open refrigerator.

Now, a pastrami sub at midnight might hit the spot, but eating that late could lead to weight-gain, especially if you're a mouse!

Researchers found feeding mice when they're supposed to be sleeping made them fatter.
