Something Smells Fishy

It happens to all of us. Wake up too late to shower. Deodorant lets us down. Maybe even step in some dog crap. But from time to time EVERYONE stinks!

Now imagine reeking ALL the time! And I'm not talking about body order. Imagine living your entire life ALWAYS stinking of dead fish! It can happen.

A 41-year-old woman from Australia has stunk of ROTTEN fish all her life. The stench oozes out of her sweat, breath and urine. And the offending odor CAN'T be covered up.

After seeing MANY doctors, being called a hypochondriac and prescribed something called "vaginal cauterization." She was FINALLY diagnosed with trimethylaminuria.

Also named fish malodor syndrome, trimethylaminuria is a RARE genetic disorder, with only 600 reported cases worldwide.

Trimethylaminuria PREVENTS the body from breaking down trimethylamine a fishy smelling substance found in meat, peas, eggs, soy beans and fish.

Avoiding these foods can help, but there is NO effective treatment for trimethylaminuria.

Maybe Aquaman has this too!

That sounds horrendous!
I feel bad for the people who have to live with this. :(

I guess she doesn't take fish oil?

How sad for her.

There are many of us who pride ourselves on our hygiene, and our constant efforts to stay fresh. It's unfortunate for those who can't do anything about it though. It can't be much worse then the reek of sweat and stale body odor at some of the gyms I have considered joining. I wish they would do something about the smell in their changing rooms!
