Giveaway: 90 Days Free Gym Membership
After watching the fascinating discussion about Weight Watchers vs Gym membership, it seems like a good time to run this giveaway. 24 Hour Fitness are giving away a gift certificate to a Diet Blog reader. It's part of the 12millionlives inspirational site / promotion.
Here are the details:
Simply enter a comment below that briefly explains how a new fitness program will help you. I'll select a comment and follow up from there.
About the certificate:
I've checked with 24 Hour Fitness to ensure there are no strings attached. Here is their response:
The pass is like a "limited term" membership, good only at one club (not all access). If someone does not have a membership, they can use the 90 day pass without committing to a long term contract. And if someone already has a 24 hour gym membership, they can use the 90 days toward their monthly fees, or it can be used for $90 on anything at the fitness center.
Good luck.
UPDATE: Thanks! - Winner selected.

A new fitness program is just what I need to get over my plateau. I have gotten into the same old exercise routine at my tiny gym in my building and would love to start taking some fitness classes as well as try out new fitness machines.
ReplyBeing the broke college student, I would love to test out 24 Hour Fitness for 90 days to see if joining a gym would be a good investment.

I am struggling to fit exercise into my routine, mostly due to financial constraints. I am a single mother to toddler twin girls, and a paid-for gym membership would be exactly what I need in order to not just lose weight, but become fit and healthier for my children and for myself.
ReplyI just want this membership because it's time I take my life back.
ReplyI have lost the weight, but I also lost any muscle I might have had. Walking up stairs is difficult. My arms were sore the next morning after a night of bowling with an 9lb ball. I need to gain muscle to be healthy. I need a fitness program in order to stay safe.
ReplyBeing fully disabled, and needing professional guidence on exercise. I feel that having a trial membership is just what I need to help me with exercising the correct way.
ReplyA gym membership will be another notch on my permanent healthy lifestyle bet. It will help me reach my goal to eventually become a personal trainer and help those and understand those who had to lose weight like I did. There is a post-Katrina location right by my new house!
ReplyI'm already a 24 Hour Fitness member, but I really like the club. Their group exercise classes are the best -- high energy and fun. Who ever wins this is a lucky girl/guy! :)
ReplyI have been gradually losing weight over the past 3 years. I have so far lost 67 and have 90 more pounds to lose to reach my goal. I want to do this not to necessarily be a certain size. Of course that would be great, but to prevent future health problems. Like most families mine has a history of high blood pressure and diabetes. And I want to stop these problems before they have a chance to start. I was diagnosed with high cholesterol which is why I started this journey. I have learned a lot about losing weight and I continue to seek further knowledge to help me reach my goal. Although there is a lot of advice on the internet you do not always know what will work best for you. I know having this gym membership will add to what I have learned so I can reach my goal and keep it off. you
ReplyThis would be just what I would need to jump start my weight journey. I've been at a standstill for a few months now. Fortunately no gain, but still no loss. It's been hard to keep on track when you don't see any progress. Maybe time at the gym will get me going again.
ReplyAccess to a gym would really help me to gain new focus and insight into my weight loss/get healthy journey. My goal is not only to get and keep myself healthy, but to take that good feeling, that knowledge and information and share it with my family and friends - it's a responsibility, as well as a pleasure to include others in that journey.
ReplyBeing a teacher and a single mom I have a very tight budget but would like to belong to a club so I can attend exercises classes. I am 60 pounds overweight and have found in the past that exercise and changes in diet is the only combination that works for me. I know that time at a gym would be a good jumpstart for me. Hopefully the club will see my dedication and offer a good deal to join after the 90 day free membership! That would be AWESOME..
ReplyNo excuses, no bull, I just need something like this to get my motor started. Right now I "think about doing something" but just think! I drive by a 24 hour Fitness Center close to my house and wish I would stop and sign up. The key word is wish!! If I had a 90 day free membership I know it would get my mind focused and I would not have any excuses. Thanks for a chance at making that wish a reality!!
ReplyCurrently I do not belong to a gym. I have almost no social interaction. I work out at home with a barbell. This could be a nice change of pace.
ReplyI would love a 90 day gym membership!
I have actually found that although certain aspects of gym membership are helpful, regular walking, coupled with proper diet, did the most good for me. However, the gym did help tone and strengthen. I liked your blog too, I'll visit again.
ReplyA new gym membership would help me increase my current trend of getting fit and losing weight...but 24 Hour Fitness has no locations within 50 miles of New Haven CT.
Oh well.
ReplyA gym membership would help be get refocused on my ultimate goal...my wedding dress! I'm waiting for my fiance to come home from Iraq in 6 months and then our wedding 5 months after that, so I need tojumpstart my year long weight loss/lifestyle change journey!
ReplyI am a newlywed struggling to keep the weight off I lost before the wedding. I have lost 40 pounds so far and have another 20-25 to go. Money is tight and a gym membership would help me reach my goals.
ReplyI'd just like to find a gym with friendly *and* helpful staff where I fit in with other overweight people that are working out. I hate being the fat chick in a sea of fit people. ugh.
ReplyI'm getting a divorce and a new fitness program would really help me stay healthy and remember to take care of myself during this process. Plus it would help me stay positive because it would make me feel and look better.
ReplyAfter knee surgery would be good to have a membership to help in my rehab and to get my butt back in shape.
