The 5 Bite Diet

5-bites.jpg

Not four and not six.

Apparently five is the perfect number of bites to take at your next meal. Dr Alwin Lewis's book Why Weight Around recommends the five bite approach to weight loss.

  • Drink as much of anything as you want as long as it doesn't contain calories.
  • Take 5 bites of any food at lunch.
  • Take 5 bites of anything at dinner.
  • Take one multi-vitamin every day.
  • Get a bit of protein a day "on average".

Dr Lewis says that after three days on this diet you will no longer be hungry: "that then resets what you body sees as full". Once you have reached your weight you can go back to "eating normally" (and therefore gain all the weight back and then some).

The truly sad thing is (in this ad/news bite) that Mr Lewis appears to be serious. Do not be fooled. This is not a good way to manage weight and get healthy.

I have no doubt whatsoever that anyone would lose substantial amounts of weight eating just five bites at a meal (Lewis sets an expectation of 13 pounds per week in his book).

How about we check back a year or 5 later before calling it successful?

The site for the diet has the audacity to say "no more fad diets" and lists so many clichés that maybe this is satire after all and I have been fooled.

I though we were over these weird gimmicks?

Well its weigh day and Im very cold :-) I have hit another milestone today and am very hyped about it. I did very well on my 5 bite regime this week. I would also say I probably had 4 out 7 under 500 calorie days. Not much food you're saying but I found a few things that are very filling and very low in calories, such as Ball park turkey white meat hot dogs which are 45 calories and eat them on these low calorie wheat buns at 80 calories a bun add some sauerkraut and everything is good to go for under 150 calories. That is one hot dog and bun are 5 pretty good sized bites. Just letting everyone know some of the stuff I eat during the week and if anyone else finds out some good low calories stuff, by all means post it for us all to see. Bought a George Forman grill and that has worked out great, everything I have cooked on it has tasted great and actually grilled which surprised me. Also the grill is so small that it really helps keeping from overcooking too much food. I am still drinking 128oz of water or more a day and the exercise thing is mixing me up. It seems when I exercise more, I lose less weight than when I dont, but it might be that the food I ate that week might have had more calories in it too. As opposed to my quizno's week last week, I only ate out once this week and that was last Thurday weigh day. Like I said before if I am going to have bigger calorie days, I do it after I have weighed for the week and as the next the weigh day approaches, I really scale down.

Well I finally hit a milestone last week of losing 50lbs but I have not done my dog track reward yet, but I will, and will give ya'll the result of that. But Im hyped this week because I am no longer in the 280's club, Im a new member of the 270's club. I lost 5.5lbs this week making my new wieght 279.1lbs. To think that Dec 1st my WII FIT could not even weigh me, I was OTC as they say that I just guestimated that I started at 335lbs (I might have even weighed more than that) and now I have lost 55lbs as of today, just blows my mind. I starting to be able to suck in my stomach and the whole area around there is looking looser and looser like it just wants to fall off and I cant wait until it does. Like I said before, I am one of these people where the fat is worst around the belly, thanks to a lot of beer drinking which I havent had one beer since I started, I have bird arms, decent legs (when I did work out I guess my legs where the only things I did right) but all my fat is my stomach and I guess to hold it up, fat was starting to build around my back and all that has really gotten smaller. Im probably around 15lbs from finally getting into my biggest jeans before I just gave up to sweat pants and that will be sweet. Well overall I am very happy to be under 280lbs and to have lost 5.5lbs and hope everyone else is having good results and stick with it, this is such an easy diet. AND FOR THE SECOND WEEK, WHERE IS MVDB

Great work Big Daddy! I'm still around LOL

I lost 4.5 lbs this week and am still going! At some point I am going to try to add exercise to my plan but I figure as long as I'm having pretty good losses each week, I can get as much off as possible without exercise, then if it slows down, I'll begin to exercise at that point to boost my metabolism.

Have a good week everyone, and keep on sticking to the plan. If you fall off, just start right back over again (the only way you won't lose weight is if you stop trying!).

Congrats to everyone for their losses this week!! I was wondering for those of you who have lost huge chunks of weight if your skin is really saggy...like someone who's had actual gastric bypass? If anyone has any insight on this I would appreciate knowing! Continued good luck to everyone this week!!

Reply
5 Biter

Hi marthie, to answer your question, I have not had any really loose or saggy skin quite yet. I've lost 53 lbs total, and I can tell it's a bit looser, but it probably won't get much looser until I lose a lot more weight (I've got a long way to go). So, check back in with me after the next 50 lbs come off if I forget to mention it before then!

I'm still here too!lol Congrats to everyone, I am so happy for you all. And to answer your question 5 Biter, it is amazing how this keeps working. Every week when I weigh in I am amazed that the weight keeps coming off. I wish I would have known about this 5 bite deal years ago.lol

Disappointed in my results for this week. I'm only down one pound but I also fell off the wagon quite a bit this weekend so I'm going to be much stricter this week with myself. Thanks everyone for your support thus far and good luck to everyone!!

Big Daddy

Just come back on for the ride and the losses will start again, but think of it this way, you fell off the wagon and still lost 1 lb. I think after the initial big drops, that for me it looks like it going to be a 2 week processes anyways, one week a small drop one week a bigger drop. But you are doing great and who knows maybe with cheating a little bit, the body will want to release some extra fat (no offense) this week since it thinks its going to get extra food again, and when it doesnt, you will get a double bonus :-)

Of course this diet works. You're starving yourself! Weight management is largely a math equation. I'd much rather burn 3000 calories a day and eat 3000 calories to maintain my weight or if I want to lose weight, burn 3000 calories and eat 2500. At some point people need to understand that weight management is an on-going process not a single fix effort. Plus, BMI is such bullshit... cut off your leg if you want to be 6 ft tall 137 pounds... go to the gym and work out! Take muscle into your old age... you'll live longer and have a healthy more robust life.

Reply
Big Daddy

YAWN and I MEAN A BIG YAWNNNNNN!!!!!!!! Who ever said we're only eating 300 calories a day (which would be great especially when my body could live off my fat for a year). Id rather you eat 3000 calories a day and not burn a bit of it off. Yea just what I want to do is work out 4 hours a day, Oh Yea I forgot I do walk 2 miles a day and do situps but I guess that accounts for nothing. Go back to your skinny world and in about a year I'll join ya. Yes I forgot, I really want to lose only 1 lb a week and think I'm doing somthing useful. No thanks I'll take the 55lb lose in 2 months and 1 week then your method, Oh yea I forget something is being learned, PORTION CONTROL , 3000 calories a day doesnt sound like any control to me. I think with people trying to learn portion control and have goals of losing close to 200lbs, I think once they do their lives will be more robust, but I could be wrong, maybe 335lbs is (I mean was) a healthy weight. And once again who said we are starving ourselves, I'm eating very well and not hungry, maybe it you re-read some of the entries here (since i mention what I eat) you will see I am far from starvation, maybe your mind is starving for attention

Yes this is the best diet I have ever done. I have lost over 50 lbs in 2 months and I weighed 335lbs at the start and my goal weight is 160lbs. ONLY 5 BITES 2 TIMES A DAY and it will work great

agghh i need some help!
i started the diet last week and have been on it for 5 or six days...my problem is that i dont loose a lot of weight. only about 0.5 pounds a day! how can i speed up this weight loss?
right now i eat 3 meals of 5 bites
breakfast- water with lemon slice
lunch- apple or a slice of bread
snack- apple
dinner- 5 bites of whatever everyone else is eating
but i also walk for 40 min everyday?
why does this not work as well as some people?

Hi, hopefully I can help with a few tips. First of all, don't weigh yourself daily. It will drive you nuts! Your body will fluctuate throughout the day for various reasons. The best way to get an accurate reading is to weigh once a week, at the same time of day. So, if you weigh at 7am on Fridays, make sure that's the only day and time you do it.
For lunch, you are saying you have an apple or a slice of bread. You should add proteins and veggies, like maybe take 5 bites of a sandwich that has protein and cheese on it, or 5 bites of a pasta dish. You need something that has a bit more substance. That's the WHOLE point of this diet, not to deprive yourself of foods you love, but to limit the portions. So, if you like a ham and cheese sandwich, have only 5 bites and save the rest, or toss it.
Only have 2 meals a day, with 5 bites only. Make sure you take a multi-vitamin daily. Also, are you drinking enough water? It's crucial to drink at least 96 oz. when you are trying to reduce weight, especially if you are exercising.
And, another thing that may not give you giant losses...do you have very much weight to lose to begin with? I have 5-6lb weight losses some weeks, other times less, but it's because I have a lot of weight to lose, and a long way to go. If you aren't that heavy, you won't have huge losses, but you will get to your goal weight faster even with 3-5lb losses each week rather than a pound or 2 like traditional diets.
Make sure you aren't getting too much sodium, that can make the scale not show weight loss as well since you could be retaining water.
Keep up the good work, hang in there, it gets easier!
Hope this helps.

Excuse a comment here:

1/2 a pound a day is actually a pretty significant weight loss. That's 3 1/2 a week, 15 a month, over 150 a year :-)

Well I am out of town tomorrow so I moved weigh day up one day. As usual one week real good, the next fair, but as long as I am losing weight each week and not gaining that is fine. I went a little water crazy this week hitting almost 200ozs some days which is probably why I didnt have a big drop. The exercise thing has me a little baffled though, so muscle is suppose to burn calories faster than fat but on the weeks I exercise more, I lose less. This week I decided I wanted to get the metabolic rate up some so I walked 1 mile and ran 1/2 mile and did 50 jumping jacks + stretches many days this week. Someone mentioned by exercising too that it will be better in the long run, but Im not looking to thwart big weight drops. So just a little on my routine. Subway is having their $5 whole subs and one sub makes it for 4 meals (2 days) so that is pretty cheap and pretty low in calories. Also had a little salmon one day, some smart ones frozen dinners and some grilled chicken on the George Foreman grill (which I highly recommend which is funny since I considered these things a joke not too long ago). One grilled Chicken breast and veggies will usually make me 3 meals. Just giving everyone a little perspective on what I am doing and any suggestions for quicker weight loss would be great.

OK the moment I know you all wait for each week with great anticipation :-) This week was fair but hey they cant all be super weeks (why I dont know). I lost 2 lbs this week making my weight 277.1 lbs making my total weight loss 57.9 lbs in 2 months and 2 weeks. So next week will be an 8 day week as opposed to the 6 day week this week, so Im hoping for at least a 5 lb drop but we will see. Like I said the exercise thing has me mixed up. Well if you have any questions or suggestions, lets hear them I check the boards often. So everyone stay on the 5 bite wagon and we will reach our goal

Hi,
I don't know if this diet is recommended for those under 18. I would ask my parents or doctor first if I was you. If you only need to lose 10 lbs, since you are so young it seems like your metabolism might be pretty good. Maybe you could just cut back a little bit on what you eat (again, check with a doctor on the right amount of calories someone in your age, height, weight range should be eating), and get a little exercise, even walking for 30 minutes a day, and I'm sure you could lose 10 lbs pretty easily.
I think this diet is probably for people who have a lot of weight to lose, and 10 lbs is not that much, so it may not be for you.

Im going to mix things up a little this week and see if I get better results. Still staying the course on food (2 meals 5 bites only) but am going to try to stay in the 400-500 calorie a day range for the whole week. Im going to reduce water intake to under 100oz a day and I am going to go for more cardio type exercise. I will walk 1 mile than jog 1/2 mile until I can build it up to jogging a mile or more. Plus I am going do 4 reps of 50 jumping jacks throughout the day and try doing reps of 25 sits up throughout the day. I dont know if this will help or not because I seem to lose more weight when I dont exercise, but from what I read, I will be better off by exercising also. But if I have 2 weeks of sorry wight loss on such a low calorie diet, I will change my routine up again.

To the girl in her teens, I think you are too young to do this and should really find a teen board that will help you more, if most are like me around here, I still need to lose appox 120lbs to hit my goals weight.

AND ONCE AGAIN MVDB HAVE YOU DESERTED US and the rest of the original crew. But everyone keep posting and let me know what your eating (so maybe I can get new ideas) and keep posting losses they are so inspiring. Even though I only lost 2lbs this week

I'm so happy to have found this place! I started a modified version of the 5 bite diet the last week of January and have lost 17 pounds so far! I have probably another 30-35 to go. My modification is that I eat 3 times per day. During the week, breakfast is a green smoothie (greens, fruit & water). On the weekends we go out to eat for breakfast, so it is 5 bites of whatever I order. I've not felt weak or starving. I get hungry about 30 minutes before a meal. My husband laughed when I told him that -- he always waits until he's hungry to eat, and then eats very small portions (naturally, the poop-head!). It's such a relief not to count calories or points or grams of anything and still have control over my eating. I'm getting to where I can eyeball how much 5 bites is going to be. I am also liking that I can go out with friends and eat and not have to look up menu items before hand or plan which meal will fit in my daily plan. I just order what I want and stop after 5 bites. The hardest part for me is counting bites while talking with others over a meal. So far I've manage by keeping track on my fingers. Eventually I'm sure I'll get to a place where I'll just rely on eyeballing it and just count if I start to get out of control.

Well I am happy to report that I lost 8lbs this week!!! I think you were right Big Daddy and about having a big loss after my one pound loss last week! Losing these 8lbs puts me at a total loss of 30lbs in 6 weeks! I am so thrilled! If I keep going like this I'll have my initial goal weight met by the end of March! Something I did differently this week was increase my water intake, and I've realized I just have to cut out diet soda..it has too much sodium! Well I hope everyone is doing well and I wish you continued success!!

Cut out diet soda, that might be an idea, I thought diet soda was alright but this sodium thing seems to be an issue. If I dont get a good drop this week, I might have to quit drinking them too, Good Idea

Hi guys- I am running behind a week on posting. Last week I lost 2.5 lbs and this week 6 lbs. This is almost to good to be true. Really I cant believe it is still working but I'm glad it is. Also, Congrats to all of you on your loses. Keep up the great work.
FYI to all of you drinking diet soda. Aspertaime(the sugar substitute) has been linked to weight gain and the unability to lose weight for years now. I have been told by several doctors that you would be better off to drink regular soda because of the way "real" sugar is broken down and used vs. "fake" sugar. Try to google the dangers of it and you will be given some great examples.

Hows everyone doing. Ok the truth I fell off the wagon for 2 days but only 2 days and Im paying the ultimate price now. Water intake is down which was by design, I did walk 4 days for 1 mile and ran 1/2 a mile and did 200 jumping jacks for more than 1/2 the week so I hope Im not building up muscle that is weighing me down. The blood pressure machine was awesome 110/79 that is out of the prehypertension region. But the reality is the reality and I gained 1.1 lbs this week moving my weight 278.2. This is the first gain I had since starting the diet so I guess if you are not totally strict to it, it will come back to get you. I did weigh at a different time today (dont mind me Im just looking for excuses) but hey this is not a race but a long stride so I still have to lose 118 to reach my goal weight of 160 lbs. So there is my weekly weigh in and dont worry Im still focused, I just hit a bump last week because I went out of town and ate at places I dont have in my town and wanted to try everything once I got there and I did and it was fun but I will say I did not like the feeling of being super full that it almost hurt. So maybe that is a good sign that my stomach is shrinking. Well let me go cry in my water bottle and NEXT WEEK WILL BE A DIFFERENT STORY

Sorry guys, this week was absolutely crazy. That is why, in part, I don't have great news to report. I fell off the wagon this week...not so much food wise, but drink wise. Giving up drinking has been one of the hardest components for me especially since I am a college student. While I'm disappointed in myself, my committment level to this process is still high. For week 7 of this diet I lost not a single pound, but on the bright side I didn't gain any weight either.

Chin up Big Daddy! You are making this dream come true..just be patient! As for everyone else good luck for this week and I will try to spend more time on here! :-)

Reply
Big Daddy

Yes I agree the giving up drinking is hard, I loved my beer and Im 39 so I know what you mean. Im hoping for better results this week but Im not feeling any smaller so who knows maybe after such massive weight loss so quick, a plateau may be hit for a few weeks so I am not going to let it get me down if this week is not as good as Id like, I would like to at least get the 1.1 lb I gained :-) Good going we will all get there

Reply
Big Daddy

Ok things are back to normal and thats a good thing. I have been drinking around 128 oz of water a day, multivitamin everyday and I walk a mile a day and run 1/2 a mile and do between 100-200 jumping jacks and stretch daily, so I hope Im not building up too much muscle (not that it looks like it :-) I have had a loss of 2.9 lbs this week so now I weigh 275.4 lb and hopefully very soon I will be out of the 270lb club (Hard to believe that at the beginning of January I still weighed over 300lbs so I am moving in the right direction). Caloric intake intake is between 500-and 700 a day and yes once again I must say I did cheat 2 days which must stop. Its like WOW once you get the bad food in you, it turns into a monster. But at least I didnt have the disastrous results I had last week. So I am going to be totally committed to no eating out this week and only being very strict on myself so scream it out loud with me (like the muscle heads in the gym do) LETS DO THIS THING. I will be back next week for my update, Im happy to see a few posters on the board but wonder where the rest of the group has gone to like MVDB. Lets keep this board vibrant and moving.

Hi all. I lost 4.6 lbs this week. I ate a little bit more than I should have, so I am pleased that I lost that much. I get a little off track sometimes when I'm busy or stressed, so I have to be careful and be more diligent during those times.

And Marthie, I sympathize with the not drinking thing, except it's not beer I want, it's those crazy coffee drinks with tons of calories. Even the sugar free ones have a lot of calories because of the milk in them.
But hang in there, you seem to be doing great.

I've lost 56 pounds on the 5BD and love it. I want to lose about 40 more and I'm just keeping on the course. Some weeks I don't lose as much but I'm getting there. I understand what you guys are saying - sometimes you just get a bit off course and eat a little too much, but when I do that, it's NOTHING like I used to do (i.e., 6 candy bars at once or like half a pizza! Yikes!) and then I get right back on track. I actually think it's good practice for when I get to my goal and will have developed the skills to indulge a bit once in awhile and then get right back on track. This will be absolutely invaluable to me.

Those of you that are posting are doing great and help keep me on track, too! Thank you!

Cool a new person on the boards. I have lost about the same amount, even though Feburary is seeming to be a harder month for me to lose but Im focused and I guess you cant expect to lose 60lbs every 2 1/2 months. Im trying to get the cardio thing going good this week. I have walked a mile and ran 1/2 mile and did between 100-200 jumping jacks (in 50 round sets) and 25 situps + Side stretching everyday this week so I hope Im burning up some fat but dont want to gain muscle weight. Well I hope you reach your 40lbs quickly and keep updating the board. I still have 115 lbs to lose to hit my goal weight of 160lbs so I will be around a while and having to lose so much might be a good thing since It will really teach me about portion control and not to make stupid eating decisions. For instance today I was going to be bad and get some baby back ribs but then decided that its too close to weigh day, it would cost too much, it would be a stupid decision calorie wise so instead I went and got a Chicken sub from subway. All this working out is making more hungry so I did stray and ate the whole sub but while I now feel that was a stupid decision too, it isnt as stupid as slamming down a rack of ribs. Im finding if you think before you eat, it makes all the difference in the world. Well weigh day is Thursday if I dont make any more updates.

Im just pissed beyond believe this week. First I have a $3000 TV blow up on me and the insurance company wants to play stupid games with me. INSURANCE IS THE BIGGEST RIPOFF GOING and if they dont want to cover anything than banks should not make you have insurance on you house. Going through all this has thrown me off my game somewhat this week and I gained 2 lbs making Febuary and March so far just a waste of time, Im still 277 or something like that. This week I may make more inputs on the board to keep me straight but I want everyday to be less than 400 calorie days. I upped my exercising which should have (but did not) offset some of my bad days like I said on my post before my daily routine 5 out of 7 days walk 1 mile - Ran 1/2 mile - 25 situps - 100-200 jumping jacks and stretches and I still gain weight. I was losing more weight when I didnt exercise so that is over at least for this week. All I am going to focus on is 400 calories or less. There will be no fast food this week and there will be no other stupid crap. If I drink fiber that will count as a bite of food, to help with cholestrol I was eating more fish pills, they will now count as a bite since they have calories, NO DAY WILL BE OVER 400 Calories, Im so pissed right now I cant think straight between my TV, the insurance company and gaining 2 lbs. I mean I dont need a diet to gain weight and I dont need exercise to help gain weight either. So If you have read my updates for the last 3 weeks, they have sucked and this week there will be no room for this. 400 Calories a day, no more and less if possible. Well good luck to everyone this week and keep it going, I will get off this plateau, I just got to find out what is keeping me on it, its either too much fiber, too much water, exercising, or a little too much eating flexability

Ok maybe I have over-reacted a bit here. I told ya'll my TV blew up so I had to move my WII FIT (which is my scale) to the bedroom. My living room is a tile floor and with a lot of room for the WII system to see the WII fit board. My bedroom is carpet and very close to the TV, so curiosity got the best of me this morning and I decided to re-weigh. This time I turned the TV at a different angle where the WII board would not be so close to the sensor and lo and behold, Now it says I lost 2.6 since yesterday and since I know that cant be right, I feel yesterdays reading wasnt right. I will not cheat and will use yesterdays reading as my weight but I think it had more to do with WII board placement. If not than I lost 2.6 in one day which I doubt. So I am in a better mood about everything today

Hi all,
I did this diet for a week in Dec. I lost 6 pounds but have been reluctant to try it again because I felt so hungry in between meals. I need to lose 75lbs! I want to try it again but I feel that I need to take something in order not to feel as hungry. Does anyone take appetite suppressant pills?
Thanks for any help or support you can provide. I need it. I seem to sabotage every diet I try. I am obese & I need to get healthy for my kids.

Hi Tam, welcome! Here's the deal, when you are overweight and you go on any type of diet, you are going to be hungry. BUT, that's a GOOD THING! When you are feeling real, physical hunger (as opposed to just emotional hunger or cravings) you are BURNING THE FAT! I had to learn the difference between real hunger and just eating out of habit. I was never satisfied, even if I was stuffed full, that's what lead me to my weight problems. Once I started doing this diet, I started realizing what real hunger felt like. But with every hunger pang, and tummy grumble, your body is burning excess fat that you've stored. So, you've got to decide whether it's worth it for you to take the weight off and be healthier for yourself and your family, and just work through the hunger. I learned to do things to replace my hobby of eating. I ate out of boredom and every emotion in between. I started doing other things, like reading, or getting outside and doing something, or watching a favorite movie, anything except eating.
And the best part is, that it gets easier. Your stomach will shrink from the size it is now (a size that helps you stay able to overeat), to a smaller size that will keep you from being able to overeat. I've been on this diet for a little over 3 months and I have lost 61 lbs. And believe me, the benefits I am getting far outweigh any hunger cravings I battle through. I have tried to overeat on a couple of occasions, and I can't. My stomach has shrunk, and when I am full, I am FULL. Not one more bite will go in. I never knew what it was like to be full before, but now I do.
Appetite suppressants are just not healthy for you. If anything, drink plain coffee with splenda. Make sure you get enough water which helps with the hunger. But some caffeine will help you get through extra tough times. I usually have to stay with decaf coffee because I'm extra sensitive to caffeine, but even the little bit of caffeine that is in decaf usually does the trick. Another thing I do sometimes is chew a piece of sugar free gum. In the beginnning, I even drank a lot of herbal teas. Now I usually only drink water and maybe one diet soda a day.
Hang in there, if I can lose weight, anyone can. My life is changing in so many ways, and it only gets better and better every day. And think about this, it's easier to take off 75 lbs, than taking off 175 lbs. If you don't do something now, the weight will only increase. Trust me, I have to lose over 100 lbs still to reach my goal. But now I know how to do it, and I will reach that goal.
GOOD LUCK and Stay positive, YOU CAN DO IT!

5 biter-thanks for the quick response & encouraging words. I started the diet today. I am really trying to stick to the "5 bite" rule. I did well at lunch but then just had a snack at 3:30 in order to tide me over until my 5 bite dinner. I also walked on my treadmill for 45mins.
I feel the same as you did before beginning this diet. I eat all the time even when I already feel full. I need to get it under control. It would feel so good to lose this weight & be more active. I get discouraged when I focus on how much I have to lose. Hopefully I will make myself stick with it.
Good luck to everyone!

Im in lost land and still unsure the best method on this diet. I will say I had an awesome week of weight loss, but did it with less water, no exercise, but I was pretty strict on myself on eating this week. Like I said Im not trying to build up muscle to weigh me down so maybe I was doing too much the weeks before, but I was also a bad boy a few weeks before and while I think you can get away with one week with a few days, I dont think you can with 2 weeks in a row. So I got re-focused, I swear food is as bad as drugs, once you get off track its hard to really get back on the wagon and this week I was on the wagon all week with no mis-ques. Now when they say 5 bite I will say that as far as meats go, and subs and stuff, I do stay in the 5 bite region, salads I give some leeway because you cant get real bites each time with them and the same with veggies I might eat a few extra but my calorie content this week was between 400-500 a day. I am no starting to fit into my smaller shirts with a little room to spare (keep in mind these are the XL's not the XXXXL's) I have jeans that fit comfy now so now things are getting interesting.

This week I had my biggest loss in weeks, I loss 6 lbs and now weight a bit over 271 lbs so hopefully next week I will be in the 260lb club and once my weight gets down to 260lbs. I will only have 100lbs to reach my goal weight. So Im very happy this week.

Id like to welcom TAM to the board keep posting and let us know your progress, if you are strict to it, that 75lbs will come off in less 3 months (I bet). I started at 335lbs or higher and now in a little more 3 months I have loss almost 65 lbs so just be patient with and think of food as an afterthought (not saying I have been perfect on this diet but it does work well and does show you really the size portions that should be eaten so KEEP GOING AND KEEP US UPDATED). Dont know where the rest of the board group has gone but keep it up, I get inspired when I come on here and hope I Inspire and NEXT HOPEFULLY THE 260's club

I lost just a little over 2 lbs this week. I wasn't as strict as I should have been, but as long as the scale is moving down and not up, I'm a happy camper! I'm going to try to push a little harder this week and next week and see if I can get some double digit losses by the end of the month. Oh, and I tried on a pair of shorts that used to be too tight, and they were way too big! They fell off of me! It was a great moment.
Keep up the good work everyone!

I have learned one thing, that already knew, I have no will power. So what Im saying Im not expecting any good results this week because I have been a bad boy. I try to say I can be bad one day and than get right back on it the diet, Well I have been bad 4 days so I have proven I cant trust myself and I will be moving my weigh day to Saturday and hope I can reverse any weight I gained and just come out even this week. I sold my wii and wii fit so I got a new scale coming that I hope is accurate but everyone keep going good and Im starting today I am back on the wagon and only one one bad day a month.

Big Daddy- Hang in there and don't get discouraged, you've been doing great so far and you have been an inspiration for many readers of this blog. Remember it's not so much about will power as it is changing the way you think about food, this is a gradual process that takes time. Take each day as it comes and stay focused on your goals...You can do it!

I am very disappointed in the people who have decided to jump ship over to a yahoo group board when we had a great thing here. Well ya'll enjoy your boring little yahoo group just becaue some stranger told ya'll to jump, This board is much better and Im sure most of you are bored to death over there.

On a side note, The next weigh in will be the first of the month, because I have been a super bad boy this week so I decided since there is no hope this week, that Im going to full fill whatever places, I have been wanting to goto and Sunday will be a fresh new start. I have the plan and I have to implement to it. And maybe you people who ditched us here for a poster who decided she needed to make a group for her own importance, dont expect open arms back at this board, because we are better and we aint 2 faced, we're loyal to the original crew

Hi Big Daddy - I am still here and still losing. I've been doing this awhile and I've found that every once in a while I need to eat more than I'm supposed to. Then I just get back into it the next day. The funny thing is, when I do that I'm not even hungry the next day. And I usually end up with a horrible stomachache because I'm not used to it and then I can't wait to get back with the program.

But now I am crystal clear with myself that this is the best "diet" I've even been on and so glad I found it and will continue until I reach my goal.
