Jennifer Love Hewitt vs Snarky Bloggers
Do you get all excited when you spot a dimple of cellulite on a actresses body? Do you go all giddy when celebrity x gains 0.34 of an inch on their thighs?
Of course not. You're not that petty are you?
Thousands of others, however, get off on criticizing everyone else's body.
Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is one of the few to respond to the critics, and her response is worth a read.
Hewitt was criticized for daring to wear a bikini and not look like a size zero. TMZ.com posted a paparazzi photo on their site. Many blog reactions followed, with comments like "We know what you ate this summer, Love–everything!"
Here is Hewitt's measured and sane response on her own site:
I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinized. To set the record straight, I'm not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn't make you beautiful.
What I should be doing is celebrating some of the best days of my life and my engagement to the man of my dreams, instead of having to deal with photographers taking invasive pictures from bad angles. I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body.
To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini -- put it on and stay strong.
i respect her i think she has the right to have any size butt that she wants. there is nothing wrong with her from my point of view. she looks good. and what makes her even more pretty is the fact that she is a down to earth female. shes not an airhead like other celebz. and why are people so judgmental would anybody really have cared if it was a pic of a regular female from anywhere.who is anybody to really judge, she is human just like everyone else.
ReplyWhy do people say she can't be a size 2? In one store a size 2 might be 34 inch hips, but in another store it can be 36 inch hips. Most women have a range of sizes in their wardrobe because there is no standardised sizing in the US. So saying you are so and so size does not really mean any one specific set of measurements.
Anyway she is NOT big and certainly not bigger than a size 6/8. she just has less muscle and more fat than she used to. It seems in Hollywood, you have to be really fit and lean otherwise you are considered 'fat'. In the real world she would just be average (not average as in overweight, but as in healthy average).
ReplyKudos to J-Love for speaking out. She is an unbelievably beautiful woman and I don't give a crap as to what TMZ says about her. Yes, there are a lot of personalities that are beautiful on the outside, but are unbelievably ugly on the inside. A lot of you might not share my view, but look at Mischa Barton, for example. She might be very pretty on the outside, but on the inside--she's got nothing to her. She's a brat, she's spoiled, she's annoying(at least I think so), she's getting charged with DUI. She's not a role model by any means. Also--take a look at Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, etc. Yes, they might be considered attractive, but they're shallow, and have no respect for themselves or others. J-Love is not falling into that trap--she's down-to-earth, she's not a diva, and she is awesome. You go J-Love! :)
ReplyYou've got to be kidding me, you people are actually being catty over someone not being a size 2? You actually think that you can sum up someone's worth in a number? I hope you choke on your diet pills, you vultures. YOU are exactly what is wrong with our society. Do you think we should all wear our sizes on the outside of our clothing? We should be graded, judged, and abused based on this?
ReplyF*** You.
Call me crazy, but I think they're being catty over the fact she lied... not her dress size.
Here's hoping you choke on your copy of Reading Comprehension for Dummies.
ReplyFirst of all, she does not look fat or unattractive at all. J-Love is gorgeous, I agree with you all. However, she is NOT the average person. She gets PAID to look good. In other words, when she doesn't take care of herself, she's NOT DOING HER JOB. Also, she has lots of $$$$ to pay for gym memberships, personal trainer or chef, etc...That's why I think that she has to look thin and pretty and fit(but not a skeleton); that's how she established herself. I think that the media has every right to point out to her that she had let go a little bit and gained weight.
ReplyShe is paid to act, not to look good. Last time she was paid to look good was when she was the Neutrogena spokesmodel, and that was ages ago (before Hayden Pannetiere, Kristin Kreuk, etc. etc.). So I disagree with you there.
Plus, her body is a freakin' wonderland. Who else can say they inspired a hit song about how amazing their body looks? A handful of people at best. That is what I'd have answered, if I were her.
Replybtw...her PERSONALITY(as well any other person's) should NOT be judged on looks. However, people were juding her LOOKS, they are two very different things.
ReplyWhy so many celebrities are so slim? Is slim really beautiful? I don't think so.
I think "big is beautiful!" "beauty is sizeless!". This has been approved in hot big people&celebrity dating site www.plusmeet.com
ReplyThat is really impressive. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to live in Hollywood around all the media and everything else they have to go throw. Being a celebrity is something I would never want to be.
ReplyYou go Jennifer! I love her even more after reading that.
That's right, SHE'S HUMAN. And like all HUMANS she may gain weight over the summer. I couldn't care less, she's beautiful because she feels beautiful.
It's like "God forbid a woman might have a wiggle in her thighs when she walks. Or a (gasp!) pound of fat."
How much to the people weigh who are writing this about her? I bet their bellies were bulging out out in front of them as they wrote the article about Jennifer.
ReplyI really can not believe how people reacted over the images taken of her. It is insane, if you are too slim in the celebrity world you would be called anorexic and if you put on a few pounds your obese. How is anybody supposed to react to that?
How would the people writing these stories about celebrities like it if we picked out there imperfections and shown them to the world. Im sure it would make them think twice on how it makes people feel.
there is no such thing as Perfection!
JUST BE YOU!
