"[the] object of this invention is to provide a new and novel mask which is worn on the head of a user to prevent the consumption of food by the user and therefore an attendant weight problem"
The face mask is designed to prevent the ingestion of food without interfering with breathing and speech.
Fortunately for us all, this torture device remains only as a patent (unless your name happens to be Hannibal Lecter).

ReplyI think its funny but kind of sad that we actually need something like this to control ourselves from eating. Besides who puts the mask on you and takes it off? Does someone else have control over this because whats to say you can't just take the mask off when you're hungry. Willpower is a much better tool for controling urges. If that is not an option then have someone hold you accountable rather then wear a torture devise and look like an idiot who can't control themselves.

ReplyIt could work with a timer you could set. Say 8 hrs, and it unlocks - no way before that. Although I would never wear that.
ReplyWow, puritanism endures. This reminds me of devices invented in the 19th century to prevent men and women from, you know, touching themselves. These days eating is almost as demonized as that act was. So, post-sexual revolution, guess we feel the need to restrain other urges.
