What's On Your Grocery List?
What's on your grocery list and does anyone really care? Actually, yes. Someone cares so much that they made a whole website out of it.
Grocerylists.org has collected over 1600 "found" shopping lists. Each item was presumably found lying around somewhere, then scanned.
The author has now published a book; Milk, Eggs, Vodka: Grocery lists lost and found.
Ok. Interesting. I guess.

More like this in Weird

How very odd indeed.
Might make a good coffee table read. Is there anything interesting in them or are they just shopping lists?
Kind of voyeristic.
ReplyIf they are the ones I saw on-line a few months ago, some of them are very funny.
ReplyThat is hilarious. I wish I had that much time on my hands.
ReplyMy shopping list tends to be a suggestion more than an absolute.
Yesterday's (as written):
ReplyMilk
FRUIT!!!!
Vegetables (carrots, peppers, broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc?)
Nate's lunch stuff
Cereal
Bagels
Peanut Butter
Mixed Nuts
Detergent
Chicken breasts
lean ground beef
pork chops
soy burgers
shrimp
brown rice
What, pray tell, is a sugar cookie log? Mmm, sounds healthy! ;)
ReplyYou know, that's kind of intriguing! I always like to know what kinds of food people are buying. If only they included the meals people were going to make out of the ingredients they bought :)
ReplyThat is quite funny, and I agree with RT that it's rather voyeuristic....however, in today's overload of reality tv and true confessions, it makes sense that people would be interested in it!
ReplyI find this quite interesteing and often glance into other people's baskets and trolleys whem I'm at the supermarket - it's possible to see in an instant what sort of eaters people and their families are.
I recently found someone's shopping list left in my trolley, which read "soop, dog food" - someone with rather dodgy spelling, and a bad memory if they needed a list for just two items!
Replyto claire s. - i suppose a sugar cookie log is the dough so you just cut and cook.
at foundmagazine.com they have found photos and notes, and many shopping lists- some really funny ones too!!
Replycheck it out! (it costs less than a book of them!)
I looked at that website and I got hooked...it's sort of addicting, in a weird way. I'm nosy though, so I like reading what people are going to buy. I also check out people's carts at the store and wonder what they are going to do with their groceries. Some of those lists you can tell...the person who wrote it is throwing a party: bruschetta, wine, salmon, olive oil, scallions, etc.
ReplyHaving a grocery list is helpful for keeping a healthy weight loss diet. I do prepare my grocery list weekly and make sure to include fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts, grains, etc.
Thanks for sharing this "grocery list" post.
... going shopping now....
