Body Fat Checker For Dogs

by J. Foster

Japanese company Kao has created a handheld body fat checker... for dogs.

The device is applied to certain areas of the dogs body - and a body fat percentage is displayed.

Apparently 20-30% of dogs in Japan are overweight. Perhaps they need to be taking a doggy weight loss pill.

I can't help wondering whether it works on humans.

Actually, the picture above is from Korea, where they've adapted this concept to create the dog Body Meat Checker.

It doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. A lot of pets in America are overweight also. Currently it seems that the vets figure out their body composition by feel - so this could be useful.

My dogs are so fat. They're slimming down though since I put them on diet dog food.
