The Rowbike
There are lots of weird and wonderful exercise gadgets out there - many of which will never sell more than a few hundred units.
The Rowbike was created in 1996 by Scott Olson - the same guy that invented Rollerblades.

Rowing is among one of the best exercises you can do. Concept 2 rowing machines are a standard feature of virtually every gym. The Rowbike combines the rowing action with a bicycle allowing you to fly along the street.
Rowbike an exercise machine that provides total body conditioning with the speed & excitement of being on a bicycle, inline skates, downhill skiing.
Sounds like fun, but around my neighborhood - even taking a standard bicycle out on the street is suicide. Hills, narrow roads and lots of traffic all make for a slightly terrifying experience.

I bet you within ten minutes I can find at least 50 ways to hurt and humiliate myself with that thing.
ReplyI'm with Nic...I can picture myself flying off and landing on my a$$!

ReplyI wish it was a rowtricycle ... a bit more stability.
ReplyLooks like they make a 4 wheel model.
ReplyYeah, im with nic and brian. Rather then hurt myself, I think i will stick to run easy. Everyone is trying new ways and training hard to exercise. But what about just running easy? I hear from folks that by running easy, you're putting less stress on your body and in-turn allows for a longer playing career.
ReplyExercise is about doing what keeps you most interested so you will do it. If running is it, it's a good habit.
I have been rowbiking for a couple of months. It is the most effective hour I have found that works the total body and keeps me outdoors. The cardio workout is intense and it is zero impact on any joints. It is also something that truly keeps me looking forward to the next ride.
I am still within the free trial period, but this rowbike is a keeper for me.
