Ultimate GI Jeans Diet
Remember Rosemary Conley's Hip and Thigh Diet? It was enormously popular in the UK.
Then came the Complete Hip and Thigh Diet.
Then Rosemary moved on to the GI Jeans Diet.
And now she has just released the Ultimate GI Jeans Diet.
According to Rosemary Conley:
In the last twelve months tens of thousands of members of Rosemary Conley Diet and Fitness Clubs have followed Rosemary’s Gi Jeans Diet. “We have never experienced weight losses like it in our history of running classes. So much so that in January this year the number of new members joining our classes showed an increase of 73% year on year and over the year to date attendance is up 40%. (via FemaleFirst)
Apparently the new diet has been "designed to tone you up and slim you down to look great in your jeans".
The number of diet books based in the GI (Glycemic Index) is nothing less than astonishing. Amazon UK lists 52 distinct items with the words "GI Diet" in the title.
If you think naming a diet book afters jeans is interesting -- then go check out the GI Bikini Diet.
What's next.... The GI Halter Top diet???
ReplySounds like the author's just using different marketing and naming techniques to make sales...
How about trying the newest diet plan for 2007 that actually is as easy as it sounds...
It's called The Logic Diet, and it'll change your life!

Dude. Take your cheesy adverts elsewhere.
ReplyIf the diet works, the name does not bother me.

ReplyHaha, yes, I agree.
Can't you just remove all of his comments too, until he starts saying things that don't involve promoting his book, or at least not so shamelessly? :-)
ReplyHeck, why not try the Get Naked And Run Around In The Snow Diet?
At least you'd be guaranteed to lose a few pounds that way!
*sigh* When are people going to realise Diets. Don't. Work!
The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to change your habits for the better - permanently.
ReplyAll you should try the diet first before you leave your "comment" .. otherwise bug off, because it does work, if you just eat what you should (and leave those sweets) you'll see for your self.
ReplySo all you FAT people, stop being jealous and get a life!!
Yes, Louise. We are all jealous of people following this diet, since they are an exclusive club.
ReplyLouise ::eye roll::
The name is ridiculous, we're allowed to mock. Besides, some names are intended to be noted as such, Snakes on a Plane anyone?
ReplyI have a question I was hoping someone could help me with. Concerning these GI Diets, I see the name "broad beans" and I am not fimiliar with this term. Can some one give me some examples of what a broad bean is. I would appreciate the help. Thanks
ReplySusan, broad beans are large green beans that come in a pod (or already out of the pod). People eat them raw or cooked, but they cook fast, like lentils, not like other kinds of beans. The taste is similar to fava beans or chickpeas.
ReplySo what's the principle behind it? If you have tried it let us know so we can judge it on more than it's name.
ReplyThis diet really works. Gi is not a fad its just healthy eating, however because you are not putting processed rubbish into your body the weight just falls off. I swear by GI for anyone wanting to lose weight, plus it makes you full so you don't even want to over eat
ReplyThe GI diet works on the principal of regulating our Glycemic Index with the foods you eat. When your GI jumps(because of having eaten something like a potato or pasta without a protein to balance absorption) it triggers not only hunger but the body's mechanism to store what we have eaten by spiking the insulin response in the body. which triggers the sensation of hunger from our BLOOD SUGAR, not our bellies. When you regulate spikes by the correct food choices and COMBINATIONS you are better able to control impulse eating, and the body burns calories rather than retain them in the form of fat
