The UnDiet System

Imagine a weight loss technique that simply involves spraying yourself with various sprays. Sounds too good to be true.

We've already seen SliMist - the appetite suppressant spray - but "The UnDiet System" goes a bit further with three different sprays.

The website is loaded with bold claims, testimonials, and - scantily clad women all showing their stomach (all stock photography no doubt).

This is the plan:

  1. Weightshield™ - Spray 4 times in the mouth before breakfast.
  2. Appease™ - Spray 4 times in the mouth before evening meal.
  3. Simply Trim™ - Spray 4 times in the mouth before lunch and anytime between meals to overcome cravings.

The sprays use a host of different ingredients including; Bitter Orange, Hoodia Gordonii, Gymnema Silvestre, Citrin K, Alpha Wheat, and Naringin. The different ingredients will apparently suppress appetite, increase metabolism, and even neutralize food cravings.

Who knows whether such a "system" will bring results? At $70 for a 2 week supply it could become a rather costly experiment.

This sounds pricey for something that may not work. $70 for two weeks?
I mean weight watchers is only $9 to 14$
and Tops is like 25 per year
Caloerie king 30 something a year.
But people want a magic

I imagine that if you spray just about anything that tastes horrible in your mouth four times before you eat it will act as an appetite suppressant. I'll go grab the lysol.

LMAO, Dr. J...I was thinking the same thing! What a crock. Yeah, I guess you could lose weight by spraying nasty-tasting stuff in your mouth. Like Ann said, I'll spend $3 on a can of Lysol...it'd have the same effect. I just really feel bad for the people out there that are going to post on this thread: "Where can I get this?? Is it available in the US yet?" etc. I mean, does anyone honestly think this could work?

Spectra, I think it is sorta like the same reason people like The Shangri-La diet: it is not so much that they think it will work, but that they are willing to try anything that doesn't involve diet and exercise. I mean, everyone knows that WW works, that Body for Life works, that Body RX works, that Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle works - but they don't want to those things that involve real diet and exercise, so they try pills, sprays, sugar water, anything.

Sometimes I think that the more you pay for a weight-loss aid, the less likely it is to work...

Uhh, Don't take this junk and follow a balanced diet instead. Try eating protein. This is better off than this chemical spray.

Am I the only one who has ever had success with such natural remedies as homeopathy? This product appears to be based on a combination of homeopathic and herbal ingredients, which have the potential to do what the advertisement claims. BUT, natural treatments are not a magic pill, they also require effort on the part of the user to change some aspects of their lifestyle that are causing the problem. The thing that gets me is the ridiculous price of this product, and the fact that it is, as with most diet products, advertised as the only thing you need to lose weight, instead of as an aid to assist when hunger pangs are making dieting unbearable.

As for the Shangri-la diet, I would say don't knock it if you haven't tried it. When I read about it here, I was already taking hempseed oil daily as a supplement and decided to try taking it "Shangri-la style" instead. Guess what, it works. And if you visit the message boards and read about people who are doing the diet, you won't find a bunch of people looking for a quick-fix, most are simply using the diet as a complimentary tool. People are so quick to judge anything that seems different or "wrong" to them.

Caramelle-oh, no, I've had good results with homeopathy too. The gimmick here is the spray form. They are selling what pretty much all OTC diet pills sell, but in spray.

And I have nothing against the Shangri-La or anything else, but I've read a few comments here, both about it and any pill that Jim has ever reported on, that are like "I'll give this a try, but I'm not gonna stop eating McD's" or "I've been doing the Shangri-La/taking NV/taking whatever else but I still eat fast-food". So of course not everyone using anything is looking for a quick fix - but the fact is, people looking for a quick fix do not go for diet and exercise, they go for all these other things.
