New Commenting Features: Please Read
A few new features have been added to the commenting system at Diet Blog. A typical blog site lacks the features of a full-blown forum site -- however it doesn't hurt to make things a bit more user-friendly.
Quoting
- A small "quote" button appears below each comment. Click on this and the first paragraph will be pasted into the comments box (with all the appropriate HTML included).
- You can also select some text (just a single line for example), and then click the "quote" button -- and your selected text will be pasted into the comment box instead of the first paragraph.
- Enter your own comments after the quote.
Gravatar Support
You can now attach a small picture to your comment. This is done by using a "gravatar". Go to the Gravatar site and register your email address. Use that email address when you comment on Diet-Blog - and the Gravatar will automatically appear in your comment.
I'll see how this goes - it can take a number of days for Gravatar to approve your image.
I'm sure there'll be a few technical glitches... so I'll be keeping an eye on things.

You suggest to have honey before bed. What about a full meal? How late can I eat a full meal without it harming my weight, metabolism, stomach and liver health?
ReplyPerhaps this question is in the wrong place but, when you eat is not as critical as what you eat.
ReplySounds like a great idea, but currently the sign up process isn't working. I keep getting error messages.
Will try again later.
ReplyYeah I tried uploading a gravatar - but it failed. Please note that the Gravatar site has nothing to do with me -- it's used by thousands of blogs to enable pictures with your comments.
ReplyOnly the very top of my gravatar shows, for some reason.
ReplyI've set it to show at 80x80 pixels and with a content rating of G (general)... I think the gravatar site is in the middle of doing some upgrades... so hopefully it'll all be going soon.
I think it's a great idea.
ReplyNifty. Gravater site isn't loading for me right now though.
ReplyCool feature - looking forward to signing up for my "gravatar"
ReplyNo luck for me. Still can't sign up. This is the error message I get.... :(

ReplyMailer Error: Language string failed to load: recipients_failed
Forgot to add that someone elses email address was still listed when I went to sign up. I removed there's and added my own, however it seems odd that someone named mike's email addy was still in there. I won't say what the entire email addy was.
I think that site needs to be sorted out before I try again.
Pity because it sounds like fun.
ReplyI have noticed that my name and Email address stay in the blocks. Is that part of the new features.
ReplyIf you wish to prevent this you need to disable "cookies" on your browser. If this is an issue, tell me what browser you have and I will direct you to some resources to do that.
Regards, Jim
ReplyAnd what you eat isn't nearly as critical as how much.
Many thanks for the quote button, Jim. It eliminates a lot of scrolling.
ReplyI tried again. Unfortunately the gravatar site is still down due to some technical problems.
From the site...
ReplyRecent difficulties with my host are preventing me from allowing logins or signups (you wouldn't be able to upload a new gravatar). I am working on this problem and hope to have it resolved soon.
