I think I'll steer clear of that that particular subway!
ReplyWow. So many foods with insane abouts of calories and little or no nutritional value... just yesterday as I was in the grocery store by my house I found a pack of cookies - 360 calories PER COOKIE, and these were slightly larger than average chocolate chip... Eep.
ReplySubway can be healthy but make sure you get nothing fried, no oil, no mayo and no atkins honey mustered.
ReplyThey do have a lot of low fat sauces that taste good.
If you want to reduce caloeries further choose the wrap, the round or the six inch. The wrap is high fat but the lowest caloerie bread subway has.
Wow, that's insane...a McDonald's Deluxe breakfast is more than 1220 calories! And in a few hours after eating it, you'll probably be hungrier than if you'd eaten a bowl of cereal and a piece of fruit.
Cool links :)
ReplyThat sinandslim site is revolting.
ReplyOops, posted before I was done.
ReplySo I was going through, honestly answering what I eat, and it came to the part about restaurants. I selected that I eat in restaurants three or more times a week because I live in DC and that's what we do. This is the smarmy response I got:
"The Diet Devil admires your desire to over indulge. However to atone for such a large quantity of sins would require six hours of liposuction followed by six weeks in a full body girdle. This is the Sin and Slim Diet not the binge and slim diet"
Um, excuse me? I didn't realize eating in a restaurant automatically made you fat. Oh wait, that's because it doesn't.
Excuse me while I go throw up my lunch now. I really should know better than to come to this site anymore.
Nic/oops that site is nasty and digusting. So much so that I've removed all mention of it. I don't want anyone visiting that.
If you want to get your mind off diet. Focus on fitness intead.
ReplyYikes! I'll stop getting the six inch subs, they are a lot lower in calories if you don't add the cheese.
ReplyHey, just wanted to say hello and sorry for freaking out. I didn't throw up (good job me) and it wasn't fair to pin that on you anyway.
I like your blog because of the focus on health not the number on the scale.
-Nic (sometimes I'm ridiculous)
PS I wish they'd teach "nutrition labels" in junior high health class. I like an "unhealthy snack" as much as the next person but it's useful to know just what is in what you are eating- not just in terms of calories but vitamins and fiber as well.
Reply> I didn't throw up (good job me)
Yes - that is a good job. Just one day at a time eh?
As for nutrition labels - the ultimate foods are those that are high in nutrients but lower in overall energy... Unfortunately we tend to obsess over fat/carb calories.
