Carmen Electra and the NV Weight Loss Pill
It's called NV (as in envy) and is proudly advertised as the "First Rapid Weight-Loss Beauty Pill". NV have signed up actress and model (and, erm.., singer) Carmen Electra as their new spokesperson.
This surely is the mythic essence of marketing - get the 'perfect' body just by taking a pill. And because we all like instant gratification - NV is not just any pill - but a rapid weight loss and beauty pill. Couple it with a silicone-enhanced model and take out a national TV and print advertising campaign.
"NV™'s unique three complex formula is a simple way to enhance a woman's figure, radiate beauty and increase energy," said Electra. "I can identify with a woman's desire to make her outer appearance match her inner glow, which is why my secret to maintaining my looks, energy and confidence is NV™.The 'three complex formula' comprises a weight-loss, beauty, and energy blend.
The weight-loss complex is made up of green tea extract, hoodia gordonii, and theobromine. The exact proportions are unknown because it is a proprietary blend (total 267mg). While green tea extract and hoodia may have some validity regarding fat loss, often this depends on the quality - and as Will Brink puts it (via About Supplements):
The truth is that high-quality green tea extracts containing high levels of active compounds are expensive and rarely used in the cost-conscious supplement industry.Theobromine is a stimulant, and I am unaware of any weight loss effect.
The company behind the pill (nxCare) is like many others in the nutraceutical business - dubious credentials, and a few men getting rich.
Anyone care to try the product?
NV is no longer available new. But you can source older product from eBay.
I wanne try it...but i'm afraid that it'll not work...that i'll not loose weight.
Replywho has good experience with NV?
What happens, if i stop taking the pills???
Nv really works... Ive tried diet pills in the past and end up getting headaches, and my heart races...but this pill actually curbed my appetite without giving me a headache and without having my heart palpatating out of my chest-- and p.s. Carmen Electra is my role model.
ReplyHi! I have been taking NV for about 3 weeks now. I cant really say that i have lost any weight with the pill but i also do not follow the direstions on the box. I take one pill a day just for the energy!! The pill gives me tons of energy and helps my mood. Before I started taking the pill i was ALWAYS tired and depressed. Now, i take my pill once a day and im in a great mood and no more depression. My nails have grown too~~ I recommend this pill to anyone in my situation.
Ashley
ReplyWell i have been taking it for a while now and it is great!! I take it for the energy and it also puts you in a good mood!! I did however miss one day of taking the pill and i was dragging all day!! But hey you cant take it forever!!! The boost has to end at some time!!
Replyis it dangerous to drink once or twice a week while taking NV?
ReplyI bought NV the other day and today was the first day taking it. ive already noticed im not as hungry but it makes me feel almost "stoned" like. Maybe thats just what happens when u first take it i dont know. I would like to know if other people had the same feeligs.
ReplyI started nv about 8 days ago. I was 193 and I am 4'11. I only take one pill a day. and I did feel kind of like i was *stoned* I am now one 185. I am hoping I will get down to my weight I am suppose to be 125. I after I take it i don't feel hungry and I have no desire to want to eat no matter what it is. I am doing the weight watchers point thing to so maybe both is helping me drop the weight
Replyi've been going through this website and im thinking i want to start NV too. I'm 193 @ 5'1 and want to get back to 127. Im inspired by kendrah to start this, being we're around the same height..& 193 to 185 in 8 days is really good. I dont like that "stoned" feeling either. I dont know anything about weight watchers points. Ive got to ask Kendrah are you exercizing too?
ReplyI just bought NV and have been using it for a couple days and I can already feel a difference. Whether or not it will help me loose weight, there is a definite change in my energy levels and I'm not craving food like I usually do. I feel more energized and more willing to work out. I think that is why it will help with weight loss because it gives you the energy to get up and go. Not every pill works for everyone, but so far it's good for me. I hope you all have some of the same results. Good luck. Stay healthy.
ReplyAnd to comment about the "feeling stoned" feelings, my advice is to cut back on any caffeine that you're taking in. These pills have about the same amount as 2 cups of coffee. I noticed that I didn't feel "stoned" when I stayed away from extra caffeine. If I drink my morning coffee, I feel pretty flighty. Plus, when I take these pills, I pretty much get my original caffeine high that I would with my coffee. So, it kinda takes coffee's place. I don't know, maybe that's just me.
Replyhey..i am thinking of using NV i exercise regularly but i am worried that if i for example take one bottle and stop i will gain all the weight back?...i do not wanna lose alot maybe like 10 pounds...has anyone taken NV for a lil and then stopped?
ReplyHey everyone! I am 22 years old, 5'8, and 155 lbs. Two years ago I wore a size 4; now I normally wear an 8. I really hate the way I look right now, and I think it may be starting to wear on my self-esteem. I was considering NV, but I did not want to waste the money if it didn't work. I think I am going to now, thanks to these reviews
ReplyI'm 17 and my friend said that you have to be atleast 18 to but NV does anybody know if this is true????
ReplyIm a male, and i just bought NV about 2 days ago. Cant tell for sure if its gonna work or not. BUT, not only does it curb my hunger, it actually curbs my ciggerete cravings.. drastically.
ReplySeems like most of these posts are from younger women. Anyone in the menopausal ages trying this? I've always been between 118-125 my entire life until I started menopause. Oh yeah...I've given birth to 4 kids so & still managed to get back to my comfortable weight. In the last 2 years I've gained over 30 pounds. No matter what I do, and I am currently calorie counting/exercising 4 days a week, I can't lose ANY weight. I've gone up 2 sizes in clothing which is getting expensive.
I've read ALL OF THE POSTS on this blog since they began contemplating trying this product. I already drink A LOT OF CAFFEINE so I don't anticipate massive side effects.
Please respond to this post if you're situation is similar. I'm not a young woman & don't look forward to having any adverse health conditions as a result.
Thanks!

Planning on trying NV, hope it works going to the Bahamas in June and want to look great! ANYWAY!!!!!! SPEAKING OF PROACTIV!!!! LIFESAVER.... WORKS WONDERS!!!!!! SMELLS GREAT AND DOESNT DRY OUT SKIN!
Replyokay so it is Feb.5 and i'am going to take NV...i just had a few questions about it if you guys can answer awesome. So I know that i take one in the morning on an empty stomach and then one 5 hours later. Also on an empty stomach...so can i eat between those times? Please answer asap. I hope this works...this is my first time taking a diet pill and i'm excited and scared. MY MOTIVATION ===I'M GETTING MARRIED IN NOVEMBER!
ReplyHi everyone! I just bought NV at Rite-Aid. I will begin taking it tomorrow and letting everyone know how I feel from it. I am tired of being this weight. This is the biggest I have ever been and I can' take it. I don't know how people can live this way. I am 5'4'' 200 pounds. I know I need to exersice and eat right.
ReplyHey I took NV for 3 days then woke up in the middle night with a cold sweat my skin felt funny (kinda fuzzy tingly sensation) and I just didn't feel right, my pulse was racing and the experience was just not plesent. I read on here where other people experienced anxiety/panic attacks while taking NV. I was wondering if you continued to take it, if so did the symptoms go away or did they continue or get worse? I quit taking it after that night, but am thinking of taking them again (I lost 5 lbs in those 3 days I took it) but am afraid of having more of the same effects (they lasted for a few days after I quit taking NV).
ReplyOh also I drink a lot of caffeine (about 40oz of coffee in the morning and anywhere from 4-8 cans of diet dr. pepper the rest of the day) and maybe the weird symptoms was from all that on top of the 2 NV pills a day for 3 days I may just of been in "caffeine overload". So if I start taking it again I plan on cutting out the sodas (I cannot cut out the coffee though, I need a certain amount of caffeine, I don't like the withdrawl symptoms, lol)
ReplyHey Everyone!! I've been reading this blog for a while now, but decided not to post until I had tried the product =) which...so far I LOVE!
It's been a week & a half now. I take 2 pills a day ( as it says on the directions) One when I wake up, and one 6 hours later.
From Day one I never notised any negative side effects. I did however have a lot more energy then usual & that MADE me WANT to get out & go for a walk and excersise. I usually have 0 modivation for excersise and NV has reallyyyy helped me out with that! And along with many others I do notise a difference in my nails & hair. Normally my hair doesn't grow AT ALL! So i'd been using Horse shampoo for the past few months. It's supposed to make your hair grow & thicken....but I stopped using it now because NV really is working!!
I have also been watching what i eat since taking the pill. I no longer drink soda or anything with caffine in it. Water has been a good friend. For people who love soda and arent big fans of water..I've been trying "flavored Vitamin waters" Also, i got a few crystal light packages which you mix in a pitcher with water. That way i'm drinking all the water i need, but it kind of spices up the flavor and makes me think i'm drinking something else :) ( they come in all diff berry flavors & iced tea flavors)
At first, I was really anxious to loose weight so I wanted to eat as little as possible. But I know thats not healthy either! I try and eat 3 times a day. I'll eat breakfast before taking my 1st pill. then lunch & dinner. I've been eating pretty healthy. Don't have the urge to snack on junk food anymore..however if I see a cookie or brownie i'll start snacking on a "kashi Bar" or a nice piece of fruit! which is hard because who can resist a big huge brownie but we have to focus on the bigger picture! haha
heres a helpful website i used called "how to stick to a diet" it's worth a look :) has good motivation & helpful tips.
http://nutrition.about.com/od/changeyourdiet/a/sticktodiet.htm
SOOOO after all that being said....I'm 20 years old. 5'2" and before my NV journey started i was about 131 pounds. I know, not overweight....just lazy & a fast food lover at heart...which would slowly end up killing me!
I'm now down to 125. I did go to the tanning booth yesterday and i feel SOO great! I'm sure the tan helped too but I can't wait to be down to 120! My conclusion so far is NV really does work...IF you follow a good diet & excersice program. It's the extra boost you need to get out there and be the YOU you've always wanted to be.
We are all gorgeous and beautiful regardless of how much we weigh, but if you want to do something for yourself and make yourself feel good about YOU i'd give NV a try =)
Hope everyone has the same great results as i have! hope to hear from more of you soon
TAKE CARE

I just want to know what everyone is going to do after they stop taking nv? you can only stay on a pill like this for so long and eventually it won't work anymore.
Replydear jen to the answer to your question i dont know about it not working anemore but after you loose all that weight i dont know about you but i would be soooooo happy yay im fitting into all my dream clothes i would be soo happy and want to keep it off right ??? i would keep eating right not exersizing daily but enough 3x a week and only having my fav meal like 1a week or once 2 weeks but to sumerise it all up keeping my self in check cuz its only common sense if u do loose alot of weight and eat all your fav foods junk, sweets, big meals, etc ur going to gain the weight back who knows maybe even more but i do wish u good luck jen and im shure ull find what best works for u and learn and know how to keeep it off :) hope i helped a lil
ReplyHey i just wanted to ask if its a problem that i'm taking nv and birth control as well. I started today i do not feel very energetic.pls tell me if i should stop drinking it because of the birth control
Replyquestion for whom ever wants to answer. I have been working out for about 1.5 years now, and was getting results. I have lost about 18 lbs. Starting weight 170 now I am 152. My height is 5'4". I am reluctant to try a diet pill, since you can only stay on one for so long. I work 12 hour shifts, and don't have time to work out on a daily basis. But I am stuck in a rut, I can't seem to lose anymore weight. Whenever I get a chance to go to the gym I do!!. Do you think that this nv drug would work for me?
ReplyHello Everyone
I have taken my first NV diet pill this morning.
I was nervous at first but after reading all this good reviews i thought why not give a try.
I just wanted to know one thing. I have purchased NV diet pill from Ebay and wanted to know what is the colour of the pill and how does it look . I just want to make sure im taking the right stuff here. Cuz i bought it from ebay. The bottle is brand new and sealed when i got it but to be safe i wanted to ask this.
Thanks.
Replyhey Crystal Tears
Replythe pills are red, almost oval shaped and have "NV" engraved on them =)
i took NV for the first time this morning around 7:00 and then at 1:00pm i dont know if its normal but i have a very upset stomach. it does curb my apetite, but the nausea is killing me. i dont know if i should stop taking it. This is my fist time trying diet pills so i dont know how im suppose to feel. i really need some advise. =)
ReplyI have been taking NV for about two weeks and they help with getting faster results which is why diet and exercise is always mentioned. There is no point in taking diet pills and eating fast food. Body builders who want to gain weight or muscle eat certain foods, why would any person have the same eating habits if they want to loose weight.
I have tried loosing weight the old fashioned way, but it takes time and discipline, which are two things I don't have much of. So for people like me who only have time to exercise once a week and practice healthy eating habits NV works.
ReplyHi Jen, I felt the the same way the first time I took them but I also didn't drink a glass of water when I did. Now every time I take them I drink at least 8oz of water like suggested. It may also help if you take one pill in the morning and the second in the afternoon.
ReplyHello ...
Thanks a lot for the reply
well yea i got the right pills then...
its been like 2 days since im taking it.
Hope to lose atleast 10 pounds. :)
will keep you guys updated.
Bye.
ReplyThis is my 4th day on NV Diet pill
ReplyAt first it was ok..but i have noticed that im feeling strange dizzy and cramping in the stomach the 2nd day and was very moody just like when im having my PMS. Today when i went to the washroom i was peeing and saw blood discharge i was too scared i thought im having my period but that would be impossible beacause i have finished my period a week ago. Now im thinking to just stay away from NV diet pill. It gave me headache dizzy stomache cramps and i was in bad mood. I felt like i was about to past out. I guess its too strong for me .
Anyways whoever is going to try this pill please make sure you start with one pill . if you feel strange or dizzy stop taking it.
To those of you with pains after taking it, it could be a possible allergic reaction to an ingredient. Usually the yellow additive is what is most commonly problematic, but could be something else.
Or it could just be something you are doing wrong like others said, not enough water, maybe you didn't eat afterwards, etc etc.
And as for me, I'm starting NV tomorrow morning. Just bought a bottle tonight for $29.99 from Kroger, along with Slim Fast Optima shakes! Let's hope this works! I will be eating low cal, very low fat if not non-fat diet, NO soda, NO sugar, NO snacks, NO junkfood of any sort, and lots of lean cuisine 200 cal meals. [Along with an hour of cardio 5 days a week] :)
Good luck ladies, and fellows. Have faith!
ReplyDoes anyone else experience headaches while on the pill? I just started today and my head is KILLING me.
ReplyI just started taking NV today. I took one pill this morning before breakfast abd felt great. I took the second pill at 2:30 after eating lunch at 12:30. I did feel much more anxious, nervous and jittery. I think the half pill in the morning and half in the afternoon would be perfect. Has anyone done this for a long period of time? Will it work just as well??
ReplyHi, I just got NV, and it seems to be working, it might just be in my head I only got it a little while ago, but my tummy seems to be getting a tiny but smaller. Barely noticeable but still. I was wondering, cause I can really tell a difference in my body, but the scale seems to be saying the complete opposite. I was wondering, how long did it take you ladies, before you actually noticed a difference in your bodies?
Much appreciated!
ReplyHOLEY CRAP GIRL! HOW LONG DID THAT TAKE?!?!?! NOW IM SOOO CURIOUS, MAN, I WANT THIS STUFF TO WORK!!! AHHHH~~~~ LOL
Replyhey everyone.
im 17 and looking to lose like 10-15 pounds for prom in a couple months. i was reading through these posts and saw some about age restrictions on NV. how old do you really need to be to buy something like this at say riteaid or cvs?
ReplySo I went to GNC and the girls at the counter suggested NV. So I started saturday with one pill with lots of water and ate breakfast, egg whites an hour later. So far so good, then second pill with lots of water and had lunch an hour later. WEll THEN THE PAINS CAME AND I WAS IN THE BATHROOM FOR AWHILE. gross, never in my life. The next day I said maybe it was a freak thing and took another pill and had breakfast and felt fine, until i ate lunch a few hours later and spent the whole night again the bathroom. If this is how they expect you to lose weight I guess it works but its not the road I want to take. Im not sure if this is typical or if it has happened to anyone else. please lemme know, b/c im ready to throw out the bottle.
