Pass The Tea Bag

Drink it - don't wear it...
Herbal teas are a great option for hot drinks. I became a herbal tea drinker many years ago during a drawn out camping experience - all we had to drink was a large box of different herbal tea flavors. There was something therapeutic about sitting around the campfire sipping herb tea.

In recent years, I continued drinking herbal tea in the office, but my colleagues were less than impressed. Myself and the only other herbal tea drinker were branded as hippies.

Celestial Seasonings took the whole hippy theme a bit further late last month by dressing a woman up in tea bags. The PR stunt was part of a promotion to raise awareness for heart disease.

Herbal teas are a good alternative to chugging too many coffees each day (particularly green tea, that has enough caffeine to keep you alert, but not nearly as much as coffee).

I never did persuade my bosses to subsidize the herbal tea. They were happy to purchase coffee and tea, but herbal tea? That was just a bit too risque and dangerous.

I worked at a place that had a lot of green tea drinkers, so every day I'd take a "green tea break" with a few people. We always thought it was ironic that we took a green tea break right at the same time all the smokers took a cig break. Our workplace actually DID buy herbal and green teas for us to drink, as well as coffee and regular black tea (we just had to convince the supply guy that enough people would drink it and it wouldn't go to waste)

But none of us actually WORE the tea bags, though. It's definitely a way to grab some attention, I suppose.

I love those mixed herbal teas, like Sleepytime and "Orchard Mix" or "Red Bery Mix". I also used to love peppermint tea, but I seem to have become allergic to peppermint.

I don't drink green tea, or regular, as I'm concerned with the fluoride and how it affects my goiter.

What a great idea! I recently went totally off of caffeine*. While green tea has a little caffeine, I know that many other herbal teas do not. I have been looking for something hot to drink at work, and I think herbal tea will fill the bill!
Diet-Blog rocks!

*I quit caffeine because I've determined that it stimulates my appetite.

My wife drinks tea as well just not the herbal kind often. She tried to give it up a couple of weeks back as she found that the essential sugar and cream were unneeded calories but I have noticed that she has since gone back.

To good to give up I guess
