Acomplia Side Effects: The Story You Must Read
UPDATE: May 2007. The drug has been re-named Zimulti in the US.
UPDATE Jun 13 2007: An FDA advisory panel of outside experts unanimously recommended that the regulatory agency not approve the novel weight-loss drug for sale in the United States. It is unlikely that this drug will be approved before 2010 (if at all).
UPDATE July 1 2007: Sanofi has now withdrawn it's application for approval in the USA.
Background
Rimonabant (brand name Acomplia) has been pitched as the blockbuster weight loss drug of the decade. The company manufacturing the drug, Sanofi-Aventis believes that sales will reach $5.2 billion per year by 2010. That is a staggering amount of money.
Investors are getting swept up in the buzz, and desperate consumers are falling over themselves to get an opportunity to try the drug. However it is currently before the FDA awaiting approval - which some believe may come during early/mid 2006. Acomplia blocks cannabinoid (CB) receptors in the brain. The CB receptors are believed to play a role in controlling food consumption and dependence / habituation. People often refer to the cannabis-induced "munchies" or hunger pangs. Acomplia attempts to do the opposite.
What is an Acceptable Risk?
In the scramble for profits and quick-fix obesity solutions - no one has bothered to raise questions about the long term side effects. It is up to the health authorities to determine what is an "acceptable risk" based on the data from the clinical trials conducted recently.Carol (not her real name) knows about the risk - and it is anything but acceptable. I recently corresponded with Carol, who participated in a Rimonabant drug trial.
With a long history of dieting, Carol began the trial at a weight of 13 stone 1 pound (183 pounds). With a daily dosage of 20mg, Carol noticed two immediate reactions; She was less hungry, and she became very tearful and depressed. She began to lose a pound or two per week (without being on a diet or exercise program).
Psychosis?
However things went from bad to worse. "I also felt nauseous quite often and in a period of 3 months vomited 6 times. As the trial progressed I became more and more depressed. I felt suicidal most of the time." In her desperation to lose weight, Carol stayed on the drug, but slowly descended into psychosis "I couldn’t sleep and when I did I had terrible nightmares". Carol experienced more graphic symptoms of psychosis (such as self-inflicted violence). She has since been on anti-psychotic medication for over a year, and has gradually improved."I lost my health and happiness because of these pills and experienced the most wretched time of my life". Carol also added "My relationship with my partner never recovered from him having to care for me and we split up at the end of last year."
To add insult to injury, the 20 pounds that Carol lost in the trial came back on within 3 months. Carol reports that her appetite "came back with a vengeance".
Not Alone
According to the results of the 1st year of clinical trials, patients taking the 20mg dosage of Rimonabant reported 50% more adverse events leading to discontinuation, than those in the placebo group. Of course Carol's experiences must be kept in perspective - most people had no adverse side affects.
» Note the increase in psychiatric disorders as dosage increases
What is an Acceptable Risk?
Is even one persons terrible experiences an "acceptable risk"? Maybe Acomplia will end up being prescribed to only the most "at-risk" obese patients - but who decides where that line lies?Cover Up?
You will not read about Carol's experiences in any published paper. The data from the 2004 trial that Carol participated in has not (yet?) been made public. Sanofi funded the trial and holds the results. There Will Never Be a Perfect Weight Loss Drug
In amongst the flurry of hype and expectation over this new "wonder drug", someone needs to take a long hard look at the whole concept of miracle weight loss cures. For the sake of 20 pounds of weight, Carol damaged her mental health, and her relationships.Carol strongly cautions anyone with any history of depression to be "very careful" about taking Acomplia/Rimonabant - "Being thinner is not worth screwing up your mental health."
$5.2 billion dollars estimated per year. With that sort of money being generated, who will care if a few people lose their minds?
Sanofi-Aventis "Because Health Matters"
2005 Worldwide Pharma Sales: 27,311 Million Euros (33 Billion USD).

It is possible that Acomplia may be marketed as a Cardiovascular medication. US health insurers generally cover cardiovascular medication.
I was prescribed Acomplia by my GP 3 weeks ago. Since then I have not noticed any reduction in appetite BUT I have been experiencing some unplesant side effects and seem to tick most of the boxes on the list:
tearfulness, anxiety, lack of concentration, itching, groin pains, wheezing/coughing, constant tiredness - I start dozing from 6.30pm, I go to bed tired, experience disturbed sleep and wake up tired.
I felt so completely and utterly wretched this morning that I haven't taken my tablet and will not take anymore until I see my GP on Friday. If this is a wonder drug, then I don't think it's for me. I can't cope with feeling so bad anymore.
ReplyHi Christine - and all the other people who have experienced mental health problems as a result of taking Acomplia. It's big news in the UK at the moment as the National Institute of Clinical Excellence has just approved it for use on the NHS.
ReplyI work on the health desk at The Sun newspaper and want to talk to people about the problems they experienced with this drug. We really want to make sure people know about the risks and feel it is our responsibility to do so. Please contact me on ellie.white@the-sun.co.uk and tell your story. Many thanks, Ellie.
Hi,just wanted to let you know i also have been on acomplia for about a month now,no real weight loss or anything.I am also very tired all the time i could sleep 12 hours at a time if i could.I'm not sure how long ago you posted this but just wanted to give my opinion also after i took the pill in the morning i also had to immediately use the bathroom
ReplyHi Donna, can I ask you what web site you purchased you tablets from
ReplyMy problems are still not quite gone here. Not sure if they are side effects but for safety I'll certainly not be taking AC again.
ReplyIf anyone wants to buy my remaining pills (one with 8 and one unopened with 28), leave an e-mail address here..
I am not a medical profession but I have been notified of this medication for the use of insulin resistance or in my case PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and Insulin resistance. I would like to try the medication to see if it helps. I weight 251lbs and am 5'6". I am in the higher percentile for heart problems and I am actively tiring to change my lifestyle. I am interested in how this would work with people that are truly classified Obese (100lbs over there perfect weight) my "perfect weight" is supposed to be 140lbs for my weight and height as told to me from my doctor. I am not as concerned about the weight issue as I am about the insulin resistance and the PCOS. I would like to be able to have a child and be able to have a healthy pregnancy. With this type of medication, I think I may have a chance. I understand the emotional issues that may occur and am a smart enough person that if the medication does not make me feel right I will stop the medication and then at least I can say I have tried it. I am unable to use the Metformin because I have allergic reactions to it and that is one of the only medications that are offered for my condition. I would like to try something like this because surgery is not an option for me personally and the fertility drugs would help but in order for me to have a health pregnancy with out having gestational diabetes and a hard pregnancy. Thank you for reading my rant and understand that this is my opinion and hope that the medication becomes available to people like me that are looking for a solution if only for the gleam of hope.
Replyi am in an almost dentical situation with my pcos and insulin resistance to my ever increasing wieght. i have just finished my first months supply of acomplia and 100% believe- THIS MEDICATION IS NOT THE WONDER CURE WE HOPED FOR. i have been successful in exercising more and reducing my weight in weeks 1-4, but as usual it is my will power letting me down now it is becoming more of a struggle. Acomplia has left me tired, irretable, manic, depressed, restless disturbed sleep, dry itchy skin on my legs, increase thirst. i thought this wonder drug that stopped me from gorging all day long was great, until i started to become so hungary at night. i believe thisto be the dose wearing off, i never used to eat late at night, but find myself literally making midnight snacks!!! TO ALL THOSE SEEKING HELP-AVOID ACOMPLIA. ITS RUINING MY LIFE- BUT I FEAR I CANT STOP AS IM AFFRAID OF GETTING TOO HUNGARY AGAIN. i sound like a bleeter, but if u reconise anything of what i say in urself be think carefully about ur decision, good luck xxx
Reply67 years old, never had mental problems using acomplia for 28 days (this may-june) and now I'm depressed and have had some very nasty situations with fear for the first time in life. Better big than mental ill.
ReplyDont use that stuff, please.
Just telling you I have the same problems as you Christine. Now two months after I stopped I still have problems, last this sunday! Phoning to the Alarm-central and telling I was dying - so much feer.
ReplyI'm from Denmark, and my doctor tells my I must have had depressions fefore - but I'm 67 and it is the first time. Using them for 28 days and still in trouble and now my doctor give me anti-depressiv medicin. But it is not a depression - it is some spoiled things in my brain. And I suffer - will it never stop??? My sleep is spoiled and I'm afraid of relaxing - then I'm falling in a deep hole. Never cryed before in life - and now I'm doing it with no reason.
Dont take it any more dear freind.

I was very interested in your comments razzledazzle, I was prescribed Accomplia several months ago by my GP. At first I had no side affects, nothing. But after taking them for of 2 months, my feet, hands, necks double in size, I had shooting pains so severe in my 'what I call my big bones' arms, legs, that it made me cry out. I have been unable to work and so far been signed off for another 2 months, (thk God for a good boss). It's been very scary, I have been under the hospital and they are doing loads of test. But I am convinced it was the medication and so is my doctor. The symptoms are relieving themselves but I would be very interested if anyone else has had similar problems
ReplyI tried acomplia and I had none of the mental side-effects these above people had. But I had jerky movements, strange movements in my hands, and body. That was enough for me to stop. I was also hungry when it was time to be hungry. I think I'm not heavy enough for the drug and it's probably too strong for me.
ReplyOne more thing,I slept a lot on Acomplia and had no energy whatsoever. I never tried marijuana so I cannot compare to it (I'm really very conservative in terms of drugs). Again, I think this is for severely overweight people because the main side effect for me were the jerky movements.
ReplyHi
ReplySorry it took so long to get back,Ive been pretty busy with family events etc.The wedding was the best, and me I was 18 lb lighter, and yes I still smoke but certainly dont have the craving for them as often.I had some side effects, got that terrrible itchy skin, really only during the night ,not a sign of depression yet So thumbs up from me for acomlia.I took it for 42 days,I'm going up a pound or two,but never more.Im a happy camper
Hi
ReplyMay be we need some insightful comments from the FDA on this hot topic!!Some comments seem to be from some appontees of the Pharma industry.
Tried it,lost about 10 lb on them for 42 days,no depression, itchy skin and a few sleepless nights,I'm happy enough...
ReplyOh my I think you all read too many of the side effect! A friend and I have started this together and my friend actually a cousin, has lost 20 pounds in two months without trying. I have lost 15 pounds. Without an incident one no sleep disorders no mental problems, nothing this is the best weight loss medication available on the web. I was a candy girl have to about force myself to eat an mm's . My cuz is a carb girl she can not believe how much her cravings have stopped. Best of luck to all of you but stop reading the side effects. Do your own trials..
ReplyThis is the usual moral panic whenever something new is invented.
'Depression' is a rubbish diagnosis anyway: as virtually everyone in the western world suffers from it. Stating there's a link between depression and acomplia is like saying there's a link between acomplia and real life.
ReplyI was on this drug for about a month and a half . . . lost 30lbs and have had no adverse reactions. I was always in great shape and then about 2 years ago I had my gull bladder(sp?) removed and could not seem to stop gaining wait despite my constant exercise and diet plan. This pill saved my sanity!
ReplyOk people lets get real!! NO matter what you put in your mouth can have a side effect! You tell me one drug that does not have a side effect and you will be wrong. Advil has side effects Tylonal has side effect they all do! If you take some thing that you know you should not be then that is your fault. Dr should tell you if it is right for you or if you are at risk and if you are then HELLO you should not take it. Let all grow up some should not take it but other who can should! I was on phen phen and it was great for me I lost 60# and to this day kept if off and has not problems. I Know many took this drug who should have never ever been on it and that is wrong and they mad the call. Then you have a high profile case who abused the drug to no end and died, that so terrible dont get me wrong I feel bad for the family but he took way to much and should not have been taking it to begin with. NO matter what drug it is you will have abuse and not matter who take it they need to know their bodies and the risk. IF you are have depression DONT TAKE IT right! It is not rocket sience people. Let wake up poeple and start taking resposiblity for our actions. Some of the drug have helped million but we only here the bad and who cares about the good some of drugs they have pulled have done. Well what at the other side. Phen Phen changed my life amd millions of other, did it harm yes but did they have problems to start, did they take the right dose, did they have the checks ups like it was required, maybe they did and some were harmed I get it but many many did not follow the plan and we did not see that side. If you make a choice and it is a bad one or you do not fallow the rules then that is your choice but dont make the choice for me. I can make the right choice for me! If you and your DR are honest then it should be ok! Honesly people how many people did you know who took phen phen and smoked? Sorry but you could smoke with that drug! MY point is let me make my choice and if you make yours a play by the rules then we all will gain in the world. To you who read this and are mad because phen phen harmed you are some one you know who did follow the rules remember, you are a small percent of the people is it unfortunate but millions of people who gain from accomplia and I hope they see that! Thanks
Replysorry you could not smoke on phen phen I ment in above coment.!
ReplyI agree DAVE good point! If you suffer from depression why would you even think of going on a drug that would make it worse, see this is my point, people how make that type of bad choice reck it for all of us!! Wake up people do the right thing so we all dont have to pay for your mistake. It like taking a drug while pregnant that is harmful then blaming some one for the child coming out sick or deformed! If you have depression you should not evern be thinking of taking accomlia! WAKE UP!!
ReplyTo day I took my first Acomplia pill, and swallowing it down with all the information I can find on the internet. Still, after reading all day my conclusion is that everybody has to try for them self and stop in time if there are severe side effects.
And people!! - if you have a depression, or just an incling of it it would be so incredible foolish to try this pill.
A short story:
In February this year I tried a stop-smoking pill called "Zoban" wich also works on the pshyche, and just stops you craving the sigarettes. It worked amazingly and I quit a ten year old habit with no side effect and pills to spare. These pills I gave to a friend of mine. She was on it for a week and then had to stop because she did not feel so good. So we had to completely different take on the pills.
Now, I'm giving Acomplia a try because of the wait gain from quitting the smoke... Typical!
On a last note; I'm from Norway and we have one of the world stricktes laws on drugs, and alckohol and, well, everything really - and Acomplia is allowed here. I think it is really strange it is not approved in the US.
Reminder; Know your self!
ReplyI am on it for 3 months. Nothing like what happened to that woman. I get mine called slimona from Indian Pharmacy.
slimona = Acomplia = Rimonabant. From 190 pounds to 167 pounds now.No after effects. And it cheap, 2 months supply
Reply27.00 dollars. Also feel very energetic.
I have just ordered my first lot of drugs via the internet, I have read about all the undesirable side effects and I simply don't care.I want to lose weight and will now try anything having been overweight for the last ten years going from a size 8-10 to a 16-18 is simply killing me amazing how 3 stones can change your whole life.
ReplyI eat healthly, I exercise,I don't smoke having kicked a 30-a-day habit six years ago which gave me my first 1stone weight gain, then already with four children had one more at the age of 40, which gave me a further 3stone weight gain, I have managed to lose 1stone but thats taken me 5 long yo yo dieting years!
I just eat far too much and too often, I know the problem and simply cannot fix it so now I am so desperate to curb my appetite I will take these drugs and I cannot wait to get them.
Wish me luck.

It is now 4 months since I was subscribed Acomplia and I am still sick at home. As yet none of the systems have gone away.
I'm 26 and am "chubby". Up until about 4 years ago I was very thin, having a slight frame. Then I got very sick and was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. The weight just piled on and no diet I tried shifted any weight. I finally got it under control with daily meds but just as I started to lose weight, I broke my hip in an accident and so can't exercise. After this I started to put on weight again, really fast. Someone called me a "fat bitch" for the first time and I realised exactly how much weight I had put on.
I tried eating less (although I don't eat much and what I do eat isn't that bad) but to no avail. So I started trying diet pills. I tried Trimspa which made me really ill and I lost no weight and Hoodia, which was from a reputable website but with no effect.
So then a couple of weeks ago I was reading an article in a magazine which was condemning diet pills, and I was inclined to agree until I saw a section which said that the only pills clinically proven to make you lose weight are prescribed meds like Reductil and Acomplia and warned that these are "readily available over the internet" and they can be abused easily. Now I had not heard of them until reading this so thanks Cosmo!!
I ordered them about a month ago from a good website in the UK and they were very expensive - £125!! It's worth it though if it makes me thin again. I noticed the side effects straight away - nuasea, jitters and sluggy thoughts but I could deal with it. I found that I could master those thoughts that said chocolate was better than some nice fish and have learned to ignore the hunger.
I am prone to depression. I have never been on meds for it but mainly because I get depressed for about 6 months and then it goes away for a few years. I want to say that I did become depressed while on these tablets, but it's a different kind of a depression - almost artificial. I had suicidal thoughts but I knew it was the tablets so got over it.
In the last few days, however, the symptoms have increased substantially. I am much more jittery and irritable and keep retching. I am also having trouble sleeping - every time just after I fall asleep, I get this panicky feeling that can only be described as falling headfirst or pressure building up until I want to scream. And in fact the night before last I did wake up screaming from this panic.
For the side effects, the results are not that great. I have lost 4 lbs in a month - I have exercised as much as I am able and have dramatically reduced my food intake. I don't know if I am going to keep taking it, although I have ordered another batch and at that cost I'll probably take it, at least until it runs out.
ReplyHi
ReplyI have an unopened 28 pack of Acomplia (Rimonabant) if anyone wants to buy it? It's the real deal bought from a uk website (still in packaging from site and bears the hallmarks of Sanofi etc) but it does not agree with me. I bought it for €180, will sell for €100 by Paypal.
Contact me at kittypoos@hotmail.com
Thanks!
Kitty
I bought a 30 day supply of a website I thought was in the UK (I am in the US) The pills came from Hong Kong. They were in an unprofessional looking envelope with one blister pack enclosed, no box, nothing else. The back of the pack seems to be legit saying Rimonabant Tablets 20 mg and then the info about the Indian Company. I really hesitated but started taking them 2 days ago. Nothing, no side effects, no lack of hunger. So, today I chewed one to taste it. It basically tasted like chalk. Every pill I have ever taken has a bitter taste? Was I ripped off?
ReplyDeanne as far as I know they only come in 28 day packs, not 30. They should be tear-shaped, in TWO foiled packs marked Monday - Tuesday and should look like this: http://www.100cal.de/acomplia.png. You should also know by the cost if they are fake (fake ones are usually a lot cheaper, real ones cost about GBP126 per pack.)
ReplySorry, I'm not gonna start chewing on them to confirm the taste :)
When I started taking them, they didn't effect me for about 4 or 5 days and the "bad" side effects didn't start for another week or so.
Mine are white, round and have an R on one side and a 20 on the other. I am probably taking nothing (geez, I hope it's nothing) I had better get the real deal! Thanks for letting me know!
ReplyDeanne, It sounds like I may have just ordered some from the same website as you. They come from India via Hong Kong. I believe they look different and are cheaper than the British ones because they are generic, not brand name. Also, blister packs and plain envelopes are because they want to reduce the package weight and avoid customs problems. I'd be interested in hearing about anyone else's experiences with this. I'll check in in a couple of weeks when I get my rimonabant. Take care.
ReplyThanks for the info Amy and Kitty. I just think it's strange that they don't really have a taste. Not that most people chew their pills! I just did because I wanted to see if I got a fake sugar pill or something. Just tasted like chalk. Don't most pills have a bitter taste? I have felt nothing but then Kitty said it took her 4 or 5 days. Guess I'll wait and then buy accomplia rather than generic.
ReplyI have been taking Acomplia for about 2 months now and I have lost almost 30 lbs. Fantastic, you may say, but it has come at a price. My doctor told me to give them up immediately because in the last 10 days I have been, to put it frankly, going nuts! I have experienced extreme nervousness, panic symptoms, irritability, dizziness, restlessness and trouble with sleeping, as well as have joint and tendon pain. I realise that these side effects are displayed on the information leaflet supplied with the drugs but I never in my wildest dreams expected the effects to be so severe. I am now in the middle of experiencing some awful withdrawal symptoms but I am over the worst of them.
ReplyAll I can say to anybody who is thinking of taking this drug is simply don't! It is dangerous and I hate to think what may happen to someone who cannot control the side effects of this drug. I am a very happy and outgoing person normally, but it only now I can see the effects this drug was having on me, and I can only thank God that my wife has had the patience and courage to put up with me these last few months, and I must thank her and my kids for their support and love and I must remind them of how much they mean to me and of how much I love them.
Ban Acomplia Now!
I just buy acomplia :( and then find this story. Im sad :(
ReplyThink carefully before you try losing weight with Rimonabant (Acomplia). About 10 percent of the people using it get some kind of moderate to severe psychiatric symptom, anxiety, depression, aggression or suicidal thoughts. This is based on the numbers from the clinical trials and - mark well! - all people with even a hint of psychiatric disorder or a former history of the same were not allowed to participate. In other words: People that had never had any mental problems whatsoever all of a sudden suffered and to a much higher degree than the placebo group. The number of people suffering from side effects is likely much larger now that the drug is being used by a broader range of people, some of which have history of anxiety or depression.
Quick sidetrack here: Depression is not a rubbish diagnosis, it's real enough. Only problem is that many people just use it as 'oh, I'm depressed today', just like many people say they have the flu when they suffer from a common cold. But the real deal is agony for those who get it and a certified diagnosis within the system used by the World Health Organisation. WHO.
Some people have a really hard time losing weight from just dieting and exercising, even if they try intensely. Somehow, their bodies just seem to oppose all of the effort they put into it. Medication such as Acomplia can be a help if you are really obese and have tried everything else. But those of you recommending others to 'do your own trials' - I find you irresponsible to say the least. This should be between a very good doctor who knows you well and yourself. Not something you do based on drugs bought on the internet on recommendations from complete strangers.
You have to consider very carefully what you could gain from taking Acomplia and hold it up against what you could suffer. For me the addition is quite easy: My mind and my happiness is worth much more than a slimmer me in the mirror. So, diet and exercise for me. And a smile in the mirror.
ReplyI have been taking Acomplia for over a month now. No loss of appetite whatsoever. No change at all. Also, no side effects, apart for a mild headache during the first three days. I am a Type II diabetic, 102 kg. and for the last six months I have been losing weight through careful eating and excercise (treadmill - 6 km a day). I don't feel I really need the pill, however I thought I could use an extra push. I take the pill every day, half an hour before breakfast. Nothing happens! I sometimes fool myself thinking that my carefully selected small meals come as result of Acomplia, but they are really the result of my self - determination and self - discipline. Am I doinf something wrong? Should I take the pill AFTER breakfast?
ReplyHi all,
I wish I had found this website before my wife said that she was going to take this new 'Wonder drug' as I may have been able to to disuade her.
My wife is 39, untill she started taking these drugs in early August this year, she was the most outgoing and up front and active person i had the pleasure of knowing...
That was until the side effects of these monsters kicked in.
She is now nervous, depressed, has a totaly different personallity, she cant sleep without tablets, she is jittery, she has seen various doctors over 20 times since the end of August.. I have had an ambulance out to her 3 times for panic attacks and the list goes on...
Our doctors have been in touch with Sanofi-Aventis and have been told that the drug has a half life of 12 weeks - this is the time it takes for half of the drug to get out of your system.. She only took them for 21 days.. My wife has been ill for over that time now with no signs of it easing up. We have suffered mentally, physically and financially due to this drug.
DO NOT TAKE IT.. it is as easy as that.. If you think you want to try it and will stop it if you experience side effect, forget it.. they will not stop when the drug is stopped, they will last a lot longer and ruin your life.
I can only hope that the drug gets withdrawn from the UK market as it has in the US before too many others are affected.
I am now seeking guidance from solicitors as to how to proceed against acompany that is dishing out a small drug that can ruin lives.

ReplyI have been taking acomplia since last january and am very happy with how my life has changed. for example, i dont think of what to eat nearly as much and i don't eat half or even two thirds as much as i used to. i am sorry the FDA is causing all the trouble, but then all the money made from by pass surgeries is a consideration as to why it is not avail in usa.
Replyi am totally happy with acomplia and afraid to try the generic, as i don't want to rock the boat.
that's it for now.
Hi all well let me say that acomplia was stopped for my wife on the 8 th of August after about 6 -8 weeks on script from our gp,my wife went into total body collapse swellings to ankle, lower leg, wrist, lower arm, neck all the left side. Gp stopped drug,my wife`s condition as an intolerance to it. comments raised as depression an issue and not to take this drug with any sign, in hinesight our relations were strained as i myself recovered from a back injury of some 2 years of which she cared for me. moving on kmowing the potential side effects of accomplia and a clearance of her system in 12 weeks i can now say after 28 years of happy married life my wife is now divorcing me, what a bombshell, mindbending drugs are dangerous please please take note, these drugs can potentially ruin lives..
ReplyI had the same response to this drug. I could not get anyone to confirm that it was the drug causing these reactions, but after several months on the drug, I found myself waking up with a start out of a full sleep because I had a scary full-body electric shock. That symptom has diminished now, but I still have a feeling of electricity running through my body often. Now I am fighting hands and feet that fall asleep and do not respond to shaking to "wake them up." This is even scarier! The doctor asked me to take a neurological test of my extremities - EMG/NC - to see what's going on. I want to just stop taking the drug, but the Canadian pharmacy where I purchased it does not have a pharmacy who can call me back for four days! I think I'll just stop taking it and hope for the best. (I had terrible nausea for the first week or so. I also have had two serious falls – tearing muscles severely - for no reason in the past months while taking it.)
