Biggest Loser Club: Free Trial?

NBC's The Biggest Loser has been one of the most popular fat loss "reality" shows on TV. It comes as no surprise that NBC have gone even further and created the Biggest Loser Club - an on-line program covering diet and fitness - in the same style as the TV show.

There is also a book (using fitness advice from trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels) and a DVD set. It's a merchandisers dream!

The online program begins with the customary diet profile, which asks a few basic questions about your goals, and your current weight and height. From this they will estimate daily calorie intake (although for my statistics - it did seem a little low).

Subscription costs $19.98 per month - but they currently have a free trial offer (if you cancel inside the first 10 days you are fully refunded).

Hi,

I am week 9 of a 12 week weight loss program.
I do Cardio 4 day a week for about 45 minutes per session, mostly the treadmill. As well, I have not really changed my diet much other than the fact that I have reduced my portion sizes quite a bit. I guess you could say that I am on the "Eat Less" diet. Anyway, over the last 9 weeks I have lost 35 pound and I feel great. After this 12 week program I intend to do it again, only this time I will concentrate more on eating healthy and focus more on weight training to ensure that I maintain my lean body mass... There is definitely a lot of truth in "needsnone" beliefs. Although his message is a little direct!!!

I am not overweight. But I have been in the past, so I speak from experience when I say it took a LOT MORE than 6 meals, no sugar, exercise everyday.

And I don't and have never eaten junk - I was lucky to be raised differently, with actual food. I don't even like snacks. But if you look at 95% of the food available in the world, it is junk, so it is safe to assume that most people - overweight and not overweight - are eating junk, and that "eating half of what they normally eat" will mean "eat half the junk". That is pretty much what Weight Watchers does: you can have chips and ice-cream, just eat a little bit of them.

Steve, calling me fat shows your maturity. Yes, I'm 600lb and I eat 78 large pizzas a day. Are you happy now? If you think that is gonna offend me, try again. Like I said, I've been fat, and life when you are fat is a series of non-stop humiliations. I was only fat for a bit over a year, but whatever offenses you have, I have heard them all, so it is just background noise to me now.

needsnone, I apologize for calling you an idiot. I just wanted to state that it is NOT as easy as you and as other "been thin all my life" people think it is. It is very hard work. If I had done just what you said, I'd probably have gone from 230lb to 210lb at best, and I'd still be there. When you're battling against 2 diseases that slow down metabolism, losing weight is more like "eat one of these 30 foods (all the foods you ever eat) after you've weighed it in a kitchen scale, combined specifically with this other food, at this exact time". Just to MAINTAIN I have to do more than just "no sugar, no junk, exercise". I already didn't eat any sugar and junk when I was gaining weight fast. I have been using sweeteners since I was a baby, cause I was born with malabsorption. I've eaten sugar around 4-5 times a year my entire life, and I'm including honey and any foods prepared with sugar like Chinese in that account. I've never liked snacks in general, and I eat at Subway maybe 2x a year, since fast food is out of my price range (I don't live in the US, and it is not cheap like it is for you).

Now, I completely agree with this paragraph:

"I think that most fat people would rather talk forever about how to loos weight, that way they don't ever have to get off their fat asses and actually do it.... "Why exercise and do work, when I can sit on my ass and debate all day with food dripping off my chin!"

When I first wanted to lose weight, I posted in some weight loss support boards. What I found out is: most people that SAY they wanna lose weight don't. They wanna COMPLAIN about how they can't lose weight. I also found out that once you start losing weight, the people who were "supporting" your diet instead start questioning what you did to lose weight, calling it "unhealthy" (if you are like me and eating enough calories and not taking pills, they will resort to calling it "mentally unhealthy"), and saying that you posting about your weight loss is "triggering" them and causing them to binge. Like you, I have no patience for these people. You wanna lose weight? Lose weight. You don't wanna lose weight? Then have the guts to say you don't, and live happily with yourself. But don't just whine, saying "I've tried every diet!" and "I have no time to exercise". Excuses are like an... you know the rest.

I am over-weight and am working hard at getting down to a healthy size and weight. Change of diet, change of motivation and attitude in general is my "tactic and plan".
The one thing that never helped anyone is listening to negative statements and name-calling. Those that insist on putting out only negative to others, (in my opinion), need to first take a hard look at themselves. After that they need to figure out why they MUST bully nearly everyone in their path. Doesn't it seem a bit odd that "good job" is not a part of their vocabulary?
Good Luck to All in their efforts - you deserve a pat on the back for your efforts - either big or small!!

Okay, I'm not an adult. I'm 16, and I'm about 5 feet tall and weigh 184, Everyone bothers me about my weight because my whole family is thin. I don't know have anyone to motivate me to excerise(by myself I do sometimes) and eating healthy I am kind of clueless about. If you can help me with some type of info. That'll be awesome.

I have been watching the show since the first episode. I've found it a really great motivational tool. I think that those who have bagged the show need to realise is that yes these people have been in a very controlled environment...... if you want to do the same for yourself you do need to do it slowly, but watching the show does give you much needed info. If you watched the season that Matt won, you would have seen the discussion Gillian had with him about calories and not letting your body go into 'starvation' mode. For those who have made comments about "eating nothing for 13 weeks" that is not what these people are doing. And yes if you do 'eat nothing' for 13 weeks most likely you won't loose any weight, you might find that you actually put on weight....if you don't eat enough calories your body will store every bit of fat you put into it, and convert all the sugars into fat so it can store them too.... because it thinks that you are starving, it's a self preservation mode.

So do it slow....... but mostly just do it.

The show teaches you about food choices and excercise choices if you choose to actually listen to what is being said, not just watching for entertainment value.

The show gives me motivation because it shows me it can be done. Skin does shrink back and you can look good without surgery.

The show should have an episode of over weight people
with different disabilitys, such as spainabiffida and that are in wheelchairs.

The biggest loser is my favourite show. I don't have a weight problem but the show is very influencial. If I ended up turning to cookies and ice cream as my daily meals, i'd audition just for the experience. Well, I hope everyone who visits this sight gets what their wishing for. Good Luck!!

Its really not that easy. I have been dieting and excercising for years and am still 40 lbs overweight. I am a short female and find that it often takes me over 2 months to loose 1 lb. even though I am on a restricted 12oo calorie diet and one hour of excercise every day.

signed up 7 days ago and was trying to cancel during the first 10 trial days so i would not be charged for something i am not using. I decided to sign up with Weight Watchers instead.

Every time i call i get immediately placed on hold by the system and then get a recording saying 'due to high volume you cannot answer my call'... 'try to call back between 2 and 4 PM EST.... I have called 8 times 7 of those times was well after 2:00 pm and before 4:00 pm EST. it was actually around 3 - 3:30 EST. I still keep getting the recording and can not get anyone on the line to cancel my account. I thought this would be a pleasent experiance, however, because of the problems i am having canceling i will not consider joining again at any point. I simply wish to cancel my account while i can still get a refund.

... also, it doesn't just tell you to call back at the same time you are already calling, but it simply hangs up on you after the message. they also say until 4... their lines closed completely at aprox 3:45PM EST when i tried today.... simply got a closed message to call back during business hours after 3:45.

I have also tried to cancel the account and recieved the same message about 'high volume'. The only reason I can see them making you cancel by phone is to scam you into paying for the club after the free trial or to get you to renew your membership because you could not get thru in time to cancel. It is really poor business practice and I believe in may be illegal in some states. The UK site allows you to cancel online. There really is no reason to not do so online. I have contacted them by e-mail and will definitely file a report to the BBB about The Biggest Loser Club Fraud if my credit card is charged again.

Everyone is different all diet plans don't work for all people. Some people can do it on their own and others need alot of support. I think the biggest losers club is great and it teaches what to eat and how much to eat in order to change your life habits. As for just eating the same things all of the time who wants to do that for the rest of there life. As for me I went from 230 to 150 in 8 months with weight watchers smart one meals. Now I just eat small portions of regular food to keep the weight off.

I love the Biggest Loser. It is a great inspirational show. I am 20 pounds overweight and it helps fuel the desire to lose weight when I watch the show. I may sign up for the Club yet (after Christmas), but I think it is probably the most understandable programs out there if you need a program. They never claimed it is easy to lose weight (unlike some programs), but they give you the tools and you can connect with other people dealing with the same issues. Part of me wants to join because I am a big supporter of what they are doing and would like to be a part of it. Eating healthy and exercising is a worthy goal. It makes our lives so much better. Good luck to everyone in achieving their goal.

I have a friend named Randy that lives in Honduras. He hurts my feelings often because of the truth, he hurls my way. Wally you shouldn't listen to what randy is saying, your not doing this for him your doing this for yourself & that is what matters everytime you look in the mirror. Good job on the weightlost keep it up.

The Biggest Loser Club on-line stinks. I have been trying to cancel my membership for two weeks. I've called, I've emailed. I don't get any response. When I reached someone by telephone they said they couldn't locate my account. I mean, wow, they don't seem to have any trouble locating my account when they want their $60 bucks. I'm so frigging sick of this shit. Give me WEIGHT WATCHERS any day. they aren't just a lot cheaper, they treat their customers right, you lose weight adn if you want to cancel your membership you can do it ONLINE - the same way you can sign up. If you are thinking of joint The Biggest Loser Club - I'd think again. Their customer service stinks!!!!!
