Womans Stabs Boyfriend After Diet Criticized

Kind of makes you wonder what they were fighting about. You really do have to be careful of what you eat when you're pregnant, but I don't know if it's worth stabbing your boyfriend over. He was probably trying to help.

I think a partner can feel failure when they can't help and may become too intruding. This story is frightening, but believable. Food issues are deep rooted and touchy, especially if diabetes or obesity are involved. Pregnant women can also be very irritable.

An old doctor made me realize that there are some people who can't be helped by anyone but themselves. If you can't help, it's not your fault. This guy very nearly got killed. He probably should have backed off if food is all it was about.

Maybe he told her she was getting too fat? i've actually known women who's families...boyfriends, husbands, mothers, fathers, even in-laws...have told them they were getting too fat when they were pregnant. One girl i know was told by her father in law that she looked "disgusting" and their family was ashamed of her.

It could be that she was starving her self and therefor hurting his baby.

This is very scary – perhaps the form of dieting resulted in the person feeling hungry and irritable due to low blood sugar which may have contributed to the assault.

It makes me think of the "twinky" defense - a claim of diminished mental capacity due to intake of too much sugar as from eating "Twinkies," sugar-rich cupcakes.

The defense was argued successfully by a psychiatrist for the defendant in the notorious case of former San Francisco County Supervisor Dan White who shot and killed San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and County Supervisor Harvey Milk, resulting in White's conviction for only manslaughter instead of murder.

My theory is that maybe she wanted to drink/eat something with either a lot of caffeine, aspartame, and/or alcohol in it, all of which are bad for developing fetuses. Maybe he tried to stop her and she flipped out because she really wanted it or something. You never know what a pregnant woman with a craving will do. I wonder if she regrets what she did now.

Or it could be that this woman was a complete and total psycopathic loon.

I'm gonna go with that one.

i guess she's craving pretty bad and just wanted to eat something her boyfriend dissaproves of.. pregnant women go crazy, especially concerning what they crave.. there was once this pregnant woman who asked her husband for a type of food of which her husband cannot get and she went ballistic.. she shouted at his face and stuff... demanding to get her the food she wanted... o.O.. they are really scary and weird most of the times.. pregnant women...

hell, when my brother told me i had fat arms (he meant it in a complimetary way) I smacked him... apparently he didn't know i was so touchy about my weight. I wouldn't go as far as stabbing someone, thats seriously crazy.
