Susan Ray: Success Story
Success stories are always worth reading - not only for inspiration - but to learn the real truth about long-term healthy weight management.
44 year old Susan Ray appeared on the Today Show as well as a number of magazine articles. She reached her turning point after being hospitalized for a severe anxiety attack. Over a period of 2 1/2 years she lost 85 pounds (her original weight was 225 pounds at 5'4").
"I realized I had to change my diet and my life," she said.
So how did she make this remarkable achievement?
Using savings, Ms. Ray checked into the Duke University Diet and Fitness Center. Her first stay at the Durham, N.C., "immersion" facility was six weeks. She's been back for a four-week and a two-week stay since then.I believe this is what is often referred to as the Rice Diet. It obviously addressed Susan Ray's issues at all levels - nutrition, mental, emotional, and physical. She goes on to describe how she has continued in that process:"It's not cheap, but I looked at it as an investment in my future," she explained. "At the time that's what I needed, some kind of structured environment."
She described the center as "six weeks of hard work in a very institutional kind of place with intensive classes, exercise and counseling."
"Losing the weight," she said, "it's not about a diet. It's a lifestyle. You have to decide to change your life. It doesn't mean you can't have ice cream or McDonald's. You can have it, in moderation."These same patterns are found in every person who has successfully maintained their weight loss. It is a complete change of life - nothing less.Ms. Ray has developed a daily walking exercise routine and often joins up with like-minded friends for long, healthful walks around Annapolis.
My name is Susan Ray and I am 44 years old and i just think this is so ironic to have the same name and same age.
Replyjust a big congrats to you.

Hi have any of you tried this reverse diet. I think it sounds doable and have you had sucess?
ReplySusan Ray is currently distroying a family and a 25y marriage. She has been doing this for a couple of years now. She should not be near anything that has the word succes on it.
ReplyI prefer being obese rather than being the kind of person you are...I didnt knew you were one of those!!
ReplyBe respectfull. Let the members of the family go on with their lives without you in the middle of it. If there are children in this family its worse. Dont you realize what youre doing? C'mmon give it a thought, youre not acting as someone your age.
Replyhey ,susan love your hee haw dvd . you singing love is strange, susan you are the one. very ,very sweet person... later tommy
ReplyThis is consistent with the lifestyle change that is needed to lose so much weight. Perhaps the details are no one else's business, but regardless of the consequences, change may be good - and it usually is.
