Cocaine and Weight Loss
Cocaine is an illegal and dangerous drug - outlawed in most countries around the world. Many people speculate as to whether celebrities ever partake of the drug to induce rapid weight loss.
A story from New Zealand has revealed this very thing. A wealthy 51 yr-old property developer is a suspected drug dealer. He attempted to justify his actions by claiming that cocaine was helping him lose weight.
"In explanation for his actions, the defendant stated that he had discovered taking cocaine in the evening suppressed his appetite and helped him lose weight," the police summary said.Of course there are the side effects:This may explain the success of Henderson's slimming regime. Last winter, Henderson seized on the Atkins craze and lost at least 24kg.
During the stressful 2000 when he was building the $250 million Princes Wharf redevelopment, "Hendo" was a big lad.
But by last winter, the metamorphosis was spectacular.
He sported a new wardrobe and cut a much finer figure on the waterfront.
Come the summer, he appeared even leaner, as the diet regime continued apace and his face shape changed markedly.
Doctors say cocaine acts as an appetite suppressant to such an extent that it can make users vulnerable to malnutrition. Long-term use can result in a range of mental health conditions from mild depression to the extremes of cocaine psychosis with symptoms similar to schizophrenia. And you thought ephedra was bad.Like all stimulants, it can lead to heart problems
And the Atkins detractors think Atkins is expensive. Adding the expense of cocaine has to be the highest $$/pound lost ratio diets, not to mention the most foolish and illegal.
ReplyI feel bad for those poor celebs who think that cocaine is the only way to achieve weight loss.
I've heard of people gaining lots of weight after they quit because they start eating food again instead of just getting a high.
Also, I feel bad for Scientology people. Maybe it helps people overcome things but at what cost?
ReplyI'm diabetic and my husband has high blood pressure we need to lower our cholesteral and need a diet we can both do well on we are both over weight. what diet do we need I am 63 5ft 1 he is 65 and has never been overweight, we are both retired

As a society we sure have done a number on ourselves. It takes dipping into the waters of illegal substances for us to project the image of ourselves...that others want to see (or so we feel, anyways???) I wish everyone would stop beating themselves up for a quick fix. If weight loss is the goal, maybe it would be better to find what works in the long haul! If you are commiting to sliming down alot yourself the time you need to do it. Losing weight and making the choice to lose weight does not depend on what is easiest, but what is best.
Quote: "Rather than doing what is easiest, do what is best. Doing what is easiest...will cheat you out of challenging experiences...It is easy to watch, yet it is best to participate. It is easy to complain, yet it is best to take positive action. It is easy to take, yet it is best to give, to make, to create. Doing what is best brings a life that is full. Keep in mind that making the easiest choice may very well preclude you from making the best choice. Effort is a privilege, not a punishment. Make full use of your cosiderable abilities. Forget about easy. More often than not it is a deception. When you have the choice, do what is best." (Ralph S. Marston, Jr.; from the dailymotivator.com)
ReplySo here is a good question to ask yourself before you go slamming another rail up your sinuses to ensure ultimate weight loss...if my overall goal is to FOREVER lose weight, than should I maybe allot myself the rest of my life to achieve my goal??? I assure you if you clear your head of instant gratification, and have some patience with your mind and your body, soon enough, your goals will start to be met. Just a suggestion, folks!
i started using coke to lose weight in march 2005. at the time i weighed 170 pounds. by june 2005 i weighed 150 pounds and continued to use coke, and by the end of august i was 130 pounds.anyways, it is now march 2006 and i weigh 155 pounds. i hate it. i gained 25 pounds since i stopped using. i feel like shit and i hate my appearance. i dont even go out or dress up anymore. i feel that the only way to lose the weight is to go back to using coke. i know that i kept some of the weight off, but i feel disgusted by myself because i remember back in august i looked so fit and slim. i know there are consequences but what else can i do? i suck at diets, believe me.

ReplyTry an apple instead of cocanne, or coke. Better yet, Try Acai juice! Tastes good AND...good for you.
ReplyI first tried cocaine during my senior year of high school. When I first tried it, I liked the high. I never bought it myself because I really didn't know how, so it was hard for me to be addicted then.
In my second semester of my freshman year at college, I began to buy it from a girl I knew. At first a gram could last me two to three weeks, but as the semester went on, I found I could do more and more. Then summer came, and I completely stopped.... for the summer anyway.
This year, my sophomore year, has been such a rollercoaster in many ways, and my cocaine abuse has certainly made it worse. I had a very stressful internship along with my heavy courseload. I started doing coke at work to help my 11 hour days go more quickly. I used it every time I went out. I even got to the point where the first thing I would do when I woke up was do a line. It made me have some terrible downers, but I also lost a lot of weight. I've always had eating issues, and even though I'm actually relatively thin (5'8 135 lbs), I am a compulsive eater. The summer between freshman and sophomore year, when I was on vacation and without coke, I managed to gain 15 lbs. So when I could use coke, eat whatever I wanted (when I was hungry, that is), and still lose weight, I was euphoric.
I'm home again for the summer after swearing to my exboyfriend, who is also my best friend, that I would quit. But I'm having a really hard time. You see, a lot of my freshman year was dominated by eating and exercise schedules. I don't think I technically had an eating disorder, but it was definitely disordered. Sophomore year, I didn't have to worry about all that. It was like I had this amazing metabolism. But now that I'm off, the weight is slowly creeping back on. When I left school less than a week ago, I was 131. I'm already 133.
I don't know what to do. I love my ex boyrfriend so much, and I know he's right when he said I should stop. But.... I want to use the stash I have in my room so badly. I've come so far as it is, though--I've been clean for 4 days, which is an accomplishment.
Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice for me?
ReplyDo it Kathryn, girl, a man lasts a lifetime, and love is forever, cocaine is out to kill you and it definitely will not last forever. I made my man my addiction, he gets me through the days, and when i want some, it's so easy to say, quick let's do something, i need to get my mind elsewhere, believe me I know, I've had an eating disorder for five years, and it doesn't help to be on something that's like powdered sin, it's just a tease, try dexatrim, same feelihg if you take two, maybe three in your case, try it chick, hope i help!
ReplyMy fiancee confessed in mid-April that she had been using cocaine for 10 weeks in an effort to lose the 10 pounds she could never lose for her first wedding dress fitting. She later admitted she is suffering from a binge eating disorder and that cocaine is the only thing that has freed her mind from her obsession with food. She swore that it was over and even went to some CA and OA meetings.
ReplyBut now I know it isn't over. Its now early June and her life is out of control and taking me down the spiral as well. She will not admit it to me but she has been unable to quit and is binging on alcohol as well. I came early from a trip when she was not home and found coke residue, a cutting card and straw all over the coffee table. I actually hid at a friends place for a few days and didn't tell her that I was back in town.
She lies compulsively and has even left our home to stay at a friends place (her friend is away) because she just needs to be alone. She is trapped in a drug hell now and doesn't know how to get herself out because of all of the guilt, shame, and most importantly, her addiction.
You must know that turning to coke is the most dangerous thing you can do. I've told by many recovering addicts now that the tricky thing with coke is that is very sneaky and you can quickly go from "riding the drug and then without know it, the drug is riding you"
And before you make the insane decision to use it, know that although it will help you achieve weight loss, it will not only take you life into hell, but it will take you loved ones down with you. You will have all too much empathy for the pain and hopelessness that your loved ones will feel as they lose you to cocaine.
Unfortunately, we can not compete with the addiction and it ruins lives.
Don't do it. Get clean first. You can not deal with you eating disorder until you detox from coke. It can't be done. Then go to Overeaters Anonymous every day until you able to realize that a normal life is possible in recovery.
Mike
Wow, so much to respond to! First of all, cocaine does take your appetite away temporarily, but unless you use it all day, at least once per hour, you will get hungry. However, I do like the drug for some reason. I don't know why though, because when I take it at work to make the day go by faster, I have to take xanax or alcohol (not too smart) to keep from being paranoid. Also, Cocaine destroys your nose! No one mentioned that one.
Replyhmm.. try caffiene pills for energy. you can buy them OVER THE COUNTER instead of in a shadey environment. idiot.
ReplyIt was pretty interesting to find this site. This story isnt about weight loss but may help some of you nonetheless.
I first tried cocaine the summer going into my sophmore year of college and from that moment, although it sounds very cliche, I was hooked. I wasn't doing it everyday or anything like that...but i definitely could not get the feeling I had that night out of my head. After the first time, I did it whenever I could - with the person who introduced me to it, I didn't have the resources to get it myself - and after going back to college a few hours away I thought my coke days were pretty much over.
Then I met my current boyfriend at a party a couple months later around Halloween. Much to my suprise...and delight...he just so happened to live with a coke dealer, and not only was he a coke dealer...he was one who used and shared openly and freely (not so easy to come by). Soon it pretty much overcame my life...although I still deny to myself that I am an addict - Cokehead is a hard term to come to grips with, ya know?
Anyway, I stopped hanging out with friends, never went to class, even skipped some exams that I couldn't make up. The funny thing is that even though I never told my immediate group of friends what I was doing, I came to find out they knew anyway...could tell by the way I was acting. Crazy.
Luckily for me...and I DO mean luckily...my boyfriend and I realized what we were doing to ourselves. It only took a few 72 hour binges and I'm pretty sure a few near death experiences. By a few I mean more than one. And let me tell you, if you think just being paranoid after a binge is bad...try that on top of thinking you're gonna die. Not so much fun.
The most important thing I want to get out there...and believe me, I do not judge anyone who does/tries coke because you are gonna do what you want, ya know? and I hate soundy all preachy and cliche....but coke is no joke and you NEED to know what you are getting into, and how to protect yourself, at the very least.
For those of you looking to coke for weight loss, THIS IS NOT THE DRUG FOR YOU. Not only will it cost you thousands...if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to maintain your habit...you will need to do ALOT to keep the appetite off...especially since the quality is not that great anymore, meaning it takes much more to get desired affects.
Secondly and most important, cocaine consumes you. I'm a senior in college now and I wanna say the worst of my habit ended around the end of my sophmore year...but cocaine is still something I think about often...if not every day. Everytime I get drunk my nose starts to clear in anticipation of a line...seriously...EVERY TIME. And sometimes when I reminisce(sp?) about times before when I was using...maybe a night I had alot of fun...I get an anticipation high just thinking about it. (Anticipation high, in case you dont know, is when you're body and mind start to prepare for something it has been craving..accompanied with great anticipation jitters and anxiety.)
I dont want to sound like a bad commercial or anything, but think before you sniff....and think hard.
Coke is not a weight loss solution, its seriously like a way of life.
ReplyI was addicted to crack cocaine for about 2 months. i didnt start taking it to lose weight, however in the first month i went from 150lbs to 130lbs. I dont kno how much i lost in the second month because i became homeless, was doing things for money and finally ended up in jail. Sure, i lost weight, but it was hardly worth what i went thru for it. Since i've been clean, I did gain back all the weight i lost, but am now losing weight properly. By going to the gym, and eating healthy.
It may be taking longer than when i was smoking crack, but the weight will be gone for good. And i wont go to jail for it. Think about it...use ur heads. The only methods that keep weight off for good are the ones that take a long time. Be patient. Cocaine has the ability to drag u down further than u can possibly imagaine.
Replyso i'm pretty sure my friends who do coke on occasions, aren't addicted, and they keep the weight off. One of my friends does it probably only about once or twice a month. She's lost a lot of weight, and i'm gonna try it sooner or later anyways. Why not for the purpose of losing weight. I'd rather be a druggie than live one more day of my life, thinking every minute of every second about how hungry I am, and reminding myself why I'm not eating, and when I do eat, always having to run to the kitchen sink to rid myself of the sickening food, yeah, the sink, the only place anymore where everybody wont wonder, "Why does she always go to the sink after every little piece of food she consumes..."
coke sounds like a pretty good high...
ReplyI would never have a way to get it anyways.
only on occasions

If you are using this stuff for weight loss you are looking at basically have cocaine instead of meals. Morning line, lunch line, dinner line etc...Once or twice a month doesn't have much if anything to do with weightloss. Desirae, you and your friend both sound very mentally ill (unless it was sarcastically deliberate to sound so twisted..). Get some counselling on why you would rather be a druggie than accept the body and genes you were born with. Also, if your friend says she's just using once or twice a month and that what's helping her lose weight, it's probably more like everyday. Cocaine might as well be called "lying powder". Get Help. Oh......and if you stop doing coke there's a 3-1 rule for a lot of people. For every pound you lose, you put 3 on when you stop using. At the very least you'll gain the weight back quickly. Which means the choice is.....cocaine for the rest of your life, or deal with your weight and body image issues in a healthy way. Cocaine for weight loss is about a 1/2 gram/ $50/day habit, and it's not like people can ration the stuff very effectively. $1500/month and a life time of health and mental issues. What a deal. Think you got problems now?
ReplyJessica, it is not about it being "acceptable". I'm sorry your life has been hard but unfortunately, in the world, a lot of people have had hard lives. And I think that recreational drugs are doing a poor job of helping you with your real problems. I can tell you're depressed from a post in a blog, so that is how a big a problem you have right now. You're right, they are all mind-altering drugs, whether they are legal or not, the difference is, if you were prescribed the right drugs to help you, you'd feel ok all the time, instead of spending all your money chasing a 10-minute high. Please seek help. See a doctor or a psychiatrist (at a free clinic if you have no insurance) and give prescriptions a try, if they do prescribe you something. You deserve to feel ok all the time. Drugs won't erase your past, but they can help give you the strenght to not let it rule your life anymore.
ReplyUmmm....listen. Anyone who is doing coke and is unhappy/scared/sick there are meetings full of people who have gotten clean and sober. AA, NA, CA. I started doing pills (ritalin, adderal)to lose weight and it worked. I went from 145 to 115 in about 2 months. I was absolutely insane. My parents locked me up in an institution and I ballooned up to 175 pounds in no time. Oh gee that was fun. Then I became bulimic. Then I started back on the pills, and drinking and doing cocaine. I almost died. I tried to commit suicide I was so depressed. I got clean and shot up to 170. I slowly but surely got down to 128, without starving myself or purging or taking any drugs. I have 12 step recovery to thank. I'm fine being a size 6 now. I learned my lesson, and even had to be a sober size 14. The lesson is it won't last, unless you want to be a size 2 corpse....if that's the case go right ahead.
Replyi was 160 pounds i started doing cocaine i lost about 40 pounds in 2 months its nutts but i have never felt so good i dont do coke anymore i justr work out hard to keepo my new body..
ReplyI am shocked by the amount of people who believe cocaine is a solution to weight issues. I am not judging because we all have free will to choose what we want to do. Please think before you do cocaine, I have lost a family member to drug addiction and it's not pretty. You have so many other positive options which will last alot longer and improve your life. I am not trying to tell you what to do but maybe you need to look at why you have body issues or an addiction to food before you swap to an addiction to drugs. My family member died 15 years ago and the consequences are still prevalent today. The pain, suffering, and loss is phenomenal. The worst part is drugs don't discriminate who is going to be an addict. You can become addicted to cocaine first go, not to mention you can develop psychosis that NEVER goes away. You will damage your nose, your brain and more importantly your life. You will lose weight but you will also lose what makes you special and loved because your life will become about getting high. I have fist hand experience of watching a loved one doing this to themselves. Please see some one or at least read up on the consequences and what can happen to you. This will sound cliched but you are beautiful just as you are today, with exercise, patience, eating healthy, weight watchers, a personal trainer, help from a dietician, councelling, help from friends, Jenny Craig, a new physical hobby such as dancing or rock climbing you can lose weight and most importantly ENJOY your life for a long time. There are no quick fixes.
ReplyI am sure you have friends and family who care for you, do you want to put them through the agony of watching you self destruct.
Please think carefully it may seem like the solution now but what about 6 mths from now?
Yea, and I think that artificial sweeteners. Another real culprate is, we are not consuming too much meat, we are consuming too much junk food.
And mind me on my support of the trans fat ban in New York City. I am glad that New York is taking a hit against the trans fats. These trans fats should indeed be viewed as "another cocaine". They wreck up your cholesterol levels, robs your nutrients, and inflames your arteries and your cells. As we know, we know that low fat vegetarian diets do not protect against heart disease, and we also know that high fat, low carb diets do not necessarily cause heart attacks.
While many people claim that America is eating a lot of red meat, eggs, and milk products, America is actually eating highly processed junk foods today. In otherwords, I think it's the pizzas, burgers, fries, sugary sodas, twinkies, and shakes that are busting our arteries and inflicting diabetes. While too much saturated fats in our foods do clog arteries, Americans are eating foods loaded with sugar and trans fats today. Let's go to what other people claim, what we are actually eating, and what our diet's should be, by breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
(Daily three meals that other people think we are eating)
Breakfast: Eggs and bacon, orange juice.
Lunch: Lean burger sandwich with vegtables, diet soda.
Snack: Fruit and nuts
Dinner: Steak with vegtables and rice, diet soda.
Dessert: Cake and coffee
(Claim: High in meat, cholesterol and fat)
(Daily three meals that we are actually eating)
Breakfast: Eggs on a buscuit and a doughnut with a coffee or a latte
Morning snack: A second doughnut or a twinkie
Lunch: Hanburger or hot dog with frenchfries or two pieces of pizza and a chocolate cake, chocolate shake/regular soda
Snack: Cheetos or twinkes, and even a cup of sugary soda
Dinner: Supreme pizza/calzone with soda or fried chicken with french fries
Dessert: Apple pie and ice cream with a frap or sugary coffee.
(Actual: High in junk food, trans fats, refined carbohydrates, and sugar, and low on nutrients.)
(What's the optimal daily meal)
Breakfast: Bowl of whole grain cereal or egg breakfast sandwich on a whole grain english muffin
Morning snack: An orange
Lunch: Chicken brest and vegtable sandwich, or chicken salad with olive oil with moderate amounts of cheese, water
Snack: Handful of nuts or a granola bar (As long as it's trans-free)
Dinner: Broiled, baked, or grilled fish (particulary salmon or with brockley and brown rice (most nights), or sirloin lean steak (once a week) with moderate amount of rice, mixed vegtables with green beans and and brown rice.
Desert: Fruit cup and yogurt, or, once a week, ice cream.
(Contains healthy, balanced fats, complete proteins, and complex carbs and fiber.)
Replylise, excellent post. I think that sadly some young people idolize people like Kate Moss, and think that being a drug addict is glamourous.
Replylook of u do cocaine just to loose weight get to the weight u want to be then work out hard as hell..! to keep what u have
ReplyPeople are saying that coke makes you lose, lets say about 40 pounds, in 2 months; what exactly do u do in those 2 months? Totally not eat or what? And that person that mentioned the 3-1 rule, well that goes for any kind of diet. Only problem is that people think that they can eat whatever they want after the so-called "diet", but the truth is... to keep the weight off, eat small portions for the beginning, and know exactly how to control the eating habits. It's simple, but some people just over-do the whole thing.
ReplyI hate cocaine.
I just like the way it smells.
*SNIFFFFFFFF*
Replyhi my name is adam and my friends tell me that if i use cocain i can loss weight quick but how fast does it make u loss weight please email me back before i use cocain just to lose weight?
ReplyI'm a sophomore in college and I tried coke once, just 2 lines, about 3 weeks ago. I didn't eat for over a week and I felt FABULOUS!!!! It was amazing. My friends noticed I wasn't eating though and made me eat a salad one day. after that first bite I was back to binging and guilt and I hate it. I've even started purging again but all I really want is just a little bit of coke. I don't think most people's appetite is suppressed like mine was, not sure why that is. But I just wanna do like a couple lines and not let anyone make me start eating again this time. It was great cuz I was so weak with hunger I felt high all the time anyway haha. I really don't want to start using it on a regular basis though...that's all I'm worried about. Oh well, being free from food is totally worth it.
ReplyW0W This is one of the MOST open web-sites I've ever seen.
Okay I used to be additced to coke and meth(meth better for weight lose but not good for everything else so coke wins), then I had a child, quit, went back on it, then had a neverous breakdown went on xanaxand because a lazy slob. I Cleaned up my life for good after that. The one problem was that i was gaining weight so fast and just didn't have energy at all. So one day while shoppin at wal-mart i saw JET-ALERT. i BOUGHT it AND NOW WHEN I NEED A BOOST I TAKE ONE PILL INSTEAD OF CALLING UP A DEALER. The pills give me alot of energy and kinda supress my appetite.
ReplyJET-ALERT is a much better choice. I've seen too many people have their lives ruined by 'drugs.' In some ways, I think cocaine is the worst. Very seductive, very empowering, then it shreds you! The things people have thrown away for cocaine saddens me. To those who have moved beyond it's merciless grasp, well done!

Anon, I hope you are not seriously considering using an illegal drug because you feel a bit fat. You could always exercise and try to eat more fruits and vegetables, or go to a doctor for some weight loss advice. Go rent "The Basketball Diaries" before you do such a silly thing.
ReplyCocaine has helped me lose weight plus I know a way that I do not get addicted and how to keep the weight off... I know that cocaine is dangerous but thats if yourer not doing it right, I know the right way to do it.
ReplyDavid, do you also know a way not to get arrested, shot while buying it, and all the other health hazards associated with illegal drugs? I didn't think so.
ReplyBefore you do that, Lola, just google a recent picture of Yasmine Bleeth. Keep in mind the trade-off of the weight loss, even if you don't get arrested or shot at, is a collapsed nose like hers. She used to be gorgeous, and now she is beat from coke with a nose like a boxer.
ReplyMan, this all seems so familiar somehow...
