Liz Hurley: Hide The Flab

Actress/model Elizabeth Hurley has made some comments about what flabby (normal?) people should and shouldn't wear.

When asked which item of clothing she would ban in a recent interview, she said, "Anything that is too small or too tight, unless you're slim and toned."

"I'm sick of seeing flab bulging out all over." - Ananova

Ouch.

Oh dear dear Liz..being as old as u are, you're still blinded and lost? :(
I ALMOST pity you. Firstly, you have too much sex and scandals for your own good, even worse, you don't have a stable partner..boo hoo.Secondly, you go for way too many plastic surgery operations, you can't even smell proper or think straight? Last of all, you weren't perfect all your life(you have a kid for God sake, with no recongnizable dad?), so quit critisizing(marilyn monroes' way hell sexy compared to you "water-cress soup" Fad dieter), cut down on sex(we see your panties flapping in the wind, denim doesn't help no more) and fix your "plastic" brain with good ol' books/glue.

We're all entitled to an opinion and I happen to agree with Liz's.

Honestly, people who are morbidly obese shouldn't wear clothes that fit poorly or are too small but at the other end of the scale.. My stomach is constantly turned by walking skeletons and women with eating disorders who wear clothes to "show off (their) figure". It isn't size that neccessarily makes people look good - it's how they carry their clothes and themselves.

well i agree with the fact that a super HUUUGE woman wearing teeny tiny clothes is a bit disturbing... very disturbing... but this is a free country and they should be allowed to do so... but they should at least give us a fair courtesy warning

I kind of agree with her too...not in a mean way, though. I see girls wearing too-tight hiphugger jeans with cropped shirts all the time. They look terrible because it forces the flab out over the waistline. If they would buy clothing in their size, they would look about 10 pounds thinner. As far as certain styles of clothes...some styles just look better on some people than others. I personally think the hip-hugger style jeans should be banned too...they really don't flatter the majority of womens' bodies. Sort of like those tight Bermuda shorts :)

Liz is entirely correct...TOO many people are fat and sloppy and look terrible..Liz looks HOT!!!

there are ways to conceal the flab n wearin skin-tight clothes is certainly not one of them... one must admit that small clothes make bulges obvious.

I'd go further than her, and say I don't like anything too small or too tight on ANYONE. If you don't have a great figure, it makes you look sloppy. If you are not really young, it makes you look desperate. And if you're young and have a great figure, it makes you look cheap.

I TOTALLY AGREE with Jans' comments.

Comment from Ananova, above: Actress/model Elizabeth Hurley has made some comments about what flabby (normal?) people should and shouldn't wear.

Since when was flabby normal? Being flabby is unhealthy, flabby is when people cannot stop over gorging on food and they don't excercise. Instead these activities are more popular, TV, X-Box's, Internet Perverts (Porn) and gambling, which all these entail many hours of sitting and getting fatter. People, You do own Mirrors, if you cannot tell that your fat, when someone tells you, you are and people walk by looking at you like you are, take the HINT, YOU ARE FAT.

Am not exactly thin or even slim but no, no, the the croped top and tight jeans with flab pouring over is not the best sight. Ehhhhhh!

I don't think liz should talk cuz she's a celebrity and most ppl cant afford personal trainers and expensive diet food. but i do agree that overweight ppl should not wear skin tight clothes that reveal skin and make them look bigger than they are. and most ppl dont ackknowledge that if ppl are overweight, yes it is there fault, but if ur used to a certain way of living, its VERY HARD to change it.

Chica, I hate to say this but your sense of reality is quite warped. Firstly, Liz Hurley has paid her dues as much as any professional, and she has to work VERY hard to stay where she is. Nobody gave her a free ride. Secondly, all that crying at night you do is not Liz Hurley's problem, it's yours. I think your misery has more to do with your age than anything else, and being married is likely not helping. 20 is a miserable age for almost everyone because that's typically the age when young adults truly start separating from their parents (physically, financially, emotionally), and for the first time are forced to start seriously considering what they want out of life. It really shakes some people up, and can result in financial problems, dropping out of college, or bad relationship choices. For people married very young like yourself, the result is often a baby, which is almost always a huuuuge mistake.

Your marital problems have nothing to do with Liz Hurley or other beautiful girls, and have everything to do with the fact that you've deliberately settled on being miserable with a husband you can't communicate with. The only way to fix that is to get a divorce, or to grow enough of a backbone to finally tell your husband that you deserve to be treated with respect. Whichever you choose, I wish you luck.

I agree, woman in their 20's are not happy because they have not found the right guy or they have been breaking up too many times, like myself. I for one, still am not independant or living out on my own. I've heard when you reached the 30's it much more better than the 20's. Maybe, when I reach my 30's people will still look at me if I can still pass for later 20's. Here is some advice, just be positive and life will fall the way you want it. In addition, Elizabeth Hurley is no Marilyn Monroe because real men loved real woman like Marilyn even teenagers love her. I like Marilyn because she was curvey and sweet.

i think that it is really gross when girls who are over weight where clothes that don't fit.i mean they know that they don't fit when they look in the mirror and their flab is hanging out. but if they have a disorder and they can't help being fat then thats another thing. but the people who think that they are all that and wear tight clothes and talk crap and think that they are all that and talk crap about people who are skinny is what makes me mad.

First of all: eeeerrrr and ummmmm are not names. They are sounds.
Second of all: whatever happened to chick, well fitting clothes? We DON'T need to see flab hanging out. Even skinny people can have stuff hanging out if their clothes are too small.
Third of all: don't blame celebrities. It's their jobs to look good. And who do you think they work for? Us. We decided "who's hot and who's not". Just remeber that next time you decide to complain about the fact that celebrities are evil.

I think it's alright for a person, however overweight, to wear what they wish. I do not belive that it is disrespectful or tasteless, or that any individual should be obligated to dress according to the voyeuristic preferences of others. To me, the way a person clothes themselves *can* mean alot more than simple coverage; it is a potential form of expression and way to exercise one's liberties... If they're comfortable that way, and no one's rights are being violated, then puh-lease, ladies and gentlemen. Life's too short for such trivial fuss.
However, I question their motives. Wearing super-tight hip huggers or halter tops is not exactly being unique or creative in attire. Quite the contrary, I'd say, and while being expressive is not the same as being unique--- Well, I admit that it's a little troubling. Definitely a subject worth mulling over, and alot deeper than it's accredited to be.
When I was at my top weight, it was a totally different story. I couldn't find enough layers, and wore a fleece vest, zipped to the top of the collar, everywhere I went. It didn't matter how hot it was. The fleece vest was a fashion for all seasons.

I was a "hider". :)

As a fat person I don't wear tight clothes. But even if I lose weight and become slim,I won't wear tight clothes and also shorts and bikinis etc.Because there are bad men everywhere who see your body as a property and may sexually harass you.I don't have to be sexy for anyone.By the way ,who cares about what Liz Hurley thinks?

I was a morbidly obese person that has lost 55 pounds on my way to being healthy and slim at the same time. I agree with Liz Hurley. There are certain clothes that should just not be made for the larger set. Torrid is a prime example of a store that allows larger girls to let it all hang out. Even not large, but chubby should hide their flab. It isnt pretty. I know what I look like in a mirror and wouldnt want anyone else to see it naked or partially exposed as it is in my own home, much less in public.

Of course, the source and reason it was said is not a good example of tact, but what she said is correct. Even thongs for god's sake, we should not wear them when we are big

Who cares???? She's entitled to her opinion as we all are. Im nice n cuddly but i wont wear clothes that expose my wobbly bits. For no reason other than i wouldnt be comfy wearing them.
I can lose weight if i do the sensible thing and eat practically nothing but that makes me grumpy lol. never mind i could do what tons of skinny girls do and just start using coke ;) or ill just shrug my shoulders and think to myself how shallow we all are.

Perhaps she's been browsing the work of popular Flickr street photographer Ms. Malingering (an effective daily habit for diet motivation).

Her masterpiece. I believe the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art has it in its permanent collection:

Liz hurley is just an irritating little madam, who needs a swift kick up the backside..She needs to start living in the "REAL WORLD" and stop being so bitchy and negative..We are NOT all the same, some people are not meant to be like a stick insect..Billy connolly said a really funny thing about stick thin women and a rottweiller pity i cant say what that was.. but billy had a point!

Marilyn Monroe is not fat! Elizabeth Hurley should be more nice to people. Marilyn Monroe is a nice person who cares for people. Marilyn Monroe makes Elizabeth Hurley look like a man.

I know she is entitled to her opinion but a person in her position, she must know that young girls look up to celebrities for inspiration on how to look good. What they dont know is plastic surgery doesnt come easy to us normal folks. We dont have money to splurge on nip/tucks just because were bored and spend way too much time looking in the mirror.

I am 24 yrs old and 6 ft 2. I cant help being tall and the problem i have is clothes that are made today only fit average height girls. So if i were to wear a mini skirt it would look like an extra mini skirt. I also used to be overweight in high school til i lost it after i graduated. It was the best revenge i ever had after seeing the shocked looks on some of the kids who used to bully me. If you think its ok for Liz hurly to make judgments on fat people then its ok to wear whatever you like.
