iPod Diet: Rewards System For Healthy Food
Scotland has introduced a rewards system for school pupils. Buy foods like salad, yoghurt, and milk, and earn points. The points can be redeemed for prizes such as an Apple iPod, or even an Xbox.
At the end of each term, about 30,000 pupils from the city's 29 secondary schools will be able to redeem their points for an array of items, from book tokens and cinema tickets to the latest iPod MP3 players and Xbox games consoles.
It seems the idea is proving popular - although (according to my calculations) you'd have to buy 266 salads in order to claim an iPod.
