Denise Austin Fit Forever: Blog and Review Part 1
Denise Austin is arguably one of the best known fitness instructors. She has made an incredible 60 fitness videos - beginning in the 1980s, and continuing to the present day. She is on the President's Council on Fitness, and is also a columnist for Prevention magazine.
Denise Austin has built a prolific media empire; her own range of skin care products, exercise equipment (treadmills etc), books, online programs, and of course her prolific collection of videos and DVDs.
Recently Denise Austin released a complete weight management program called "Fit Forever". The on-line program comprises diet and meal plans, and a full and complete fitness program.
Free Fitness Profile
The program starts with a free fitness profile asking the basic questions (weight, gender, and goal weight). This takes me through to a page of 8 questions - asking things like; How much aerobic activity (running, biking, tennis, etc) do you do? How much weight-lifting do you do? (Lifting groceries and kids COUNTS as lifting weights) How do you like to spend your weekends? After answering the questions, I get the results of my profile. It tells me my BMI is too high, and I should try a 1,400 calorie diet. 1,400 calories is too low for me. I know this from experience - and I honestly wonder if it's a mistake of some sort. However, after reading further I see that there are 3 calorie options; 1400, 1600, and 1800 per day.
Anyway, the three components to the program are: Targeted exercises for your fat zone, Personalized diet for your body type, and Daily Motivation "to keep you feeling great". There is a picture of Denise coyly smiling at me saying "You can do it Jim" - so I'm ready to get started.

She is greatly missed. I have exercised with her for years. Bring her back.
ReplyIf Denise does not come back, would we be able to get some of her shows on DVD?
ReplyDiet and fitness profiles are a good way for online companies to personalise the service to the client. 8 pages seems very long however. I thonk three is ample to tailor a program and work out BMI.
ReplySince Denise is gone from LIFETIME, I switched to OXYGEN's "Inhale". It's on at 6:00 AM for an hour. I usually take things as they come, because learning new things is always good for you. But after reading all your comments I don't want to miss expressing my disappointment as well. Denise's program did a lot of good to so many people and I wonder why the decision makers felt the urge to replace her program with something "even better"? But maybe it was her decision. We don't know. Anyway, she was the very best and will be missed for a very long time. There is no one out there better than her.
ReplyPlease bring Denise back. I miss her workouts terribly. I was able to stay in shape following her routine. Please do the right thing and bring Denise back. We all miss her very much.
ReplyI too am very disappointed that Denise is not on lifetime anymore.I live in Red Bluff,Ca.I enjoyed her exercise program so much. Not only did she inspire me to stay fit,it was so convenient.I am 76 and I just loved waking up at 7 each a.m.to watch and workout with my friend.I just love her.She is a wonderful motivator. Please bring her back. Please let me hear from you.Audrey
ReplyPlease, Please bring Denise Austin back to Lifetime TV in Illinois
ReplyI used her skin fit line and love it. I am 56 and have been with Denise since i was 35 They always take the good stuff away. I cant fing her skin line products any more here in Louisiana or in Texas. What happened to it? I hope Denise gets to read all our comments somehow. Bring back denise!!!!!
ReplyJune 19th 2008: I put on the TV this morining to accomplish a Denise Austin's workout and was shocked and saddened to not find it on Lifetime.
I had stopped exercising for some time and wanted to resume.
I then searched the web and finally I found this site and was even more disheartened to realize that Lifetime had indeed stopped airing it from the previous posts.
Denise Austin's exercises made starting to get fit, something that was manageable and doable. I hope that she will return to TV, until then I may just have to buy her DVDs.
ReplyI found Denise Austin Getting Fit on Espn Classic comes on at 630 am on channel 206 on Directv. These are old
Replyshows and Denise is so young but you can still exercise with her.
i completely agree...WHAT HAPPENED to Denise's Fit & Lite Daily workout on Lifetime TV??!!! i was a faithful participant and miss my daily workouts with Denise.....bring her back! Aren't we supposed to be trying to stay fit and exersize daily.Denise had the right mix it up workout that was sensible and worked for everyone...shame on Lifetime TV!
ReplySo, is Lifetime going to bring Denise Austin back. I had been fathfully getting up and working out from 7:00 till 8:00 to work out with Denise for 4 years. Got me motivated for the day.
I tried phoning lifetime with no luck.
I just found a small bilp that says shes going to be on channel 70 at 7:00 Wed. 30 July 2008. I sure hope so.
Replyhope to have the fit@light show back on this fall !!!!!!! I have realy enjoyed and learned alot from Denise GREAT JOB LIFE TIME!!! HOPE YOU BRING HER SHOW BACK THIS FALL!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyI agree. I can't believe Lifetime is no longer showing Denise Austin. They have these two stupid shows on now in place of both of her shows that nobody would be watching that time of morning. One of them is Get Married and the other one I have not had any interest in watching long enough to find out what it is about. I wish they would just put her back on ESPN and let Lifetime show their stupid shows. Really, who is watching shows about weddings that early in the morning.
ReplyMany, many of us are very disappointed that Denise Austin is no longer on Lifetime TV. I had exercised along with Denise Austin for 10 years and now I feel lost! Please bring Denise Austin back to Lifetime TV or some other channel.
ReplyHi what ever happen to her show? and will it come back on the air. I sure miss her.
ReplyThanks Lucia
I am looking for someone who has taped Denise Austin's show on Lifetime (Daily Workout) and would be willing to make me some copies. I am willing to buy them. I have about five shows that I taped and I use them all the time, I'm so upset that Lifetime took her show off, I have some of her DVD's but I really liked her show better, it's different each time and I get bored too easy. Anyone??? Thanks, Laurel
ReplyLaurel, did you find videos of Fit & Lite and her other show? I would be willing to buy them too. I can't believe I didn't tape all of them while she was on. Can you help? I'm trying desperately to find a tape of her work outs from LifeTime!!!
ReplyI also feel Denise has made a difference in my health, I had a plan set up with her show every morning before I went to work. She realy made a difference in my life. I did tape her shows, but life time says it is for women well don't let us down and bring her shows back for all of us. WE MISS YOU DENISE!!!!!!!
ReplyI used to work out most mornings to Denise Austin on Lifetime....it's not the same without her. She is such an inspiration. Bring her back! What are you doing Lifetime?!! Don't like watching Lifetime without her!
ReplyI have been lost without Fit & Light since it was taken off the air! Are there plans for a new tv show?
ReplyMy body is starting to show the lack of workout...the other shows and timeslots do not "fit" my morning routine. We miss you, Denise!
Jacqueline Marie
I miss working out with Denise!!! Has anyone heard when and what channel she will be on? HELP...we need her back>
ReplyI totally miss Denise too. I started working out with her in Oct.2004 and wished I only had started sooner. I took for granted that she would always be there. She helped me go from a size 16 to a size 6 which was very easy to do. I totally agree with all of these women that Lifetime totally STINKS for taking her off the air. I emailed them awhile back and they told me that they did it to offer more variety. WHATEVER! That's just why they play fourteen hours a day of Golden Girls and the Nanny. I since have not watched Lifetime since. As Denise's new show, if anyone finds out where it is and when please post it!
ReplyI miss Fit and Lite also. I would even be happy to see the old episodes again.
ReplyDenise's site used to say she would have a show starting in the fall on another network. Now there is
Replynothing. I wonder what happened. I can't believe no one is showing the reruns from her shows!
I'm going to try and contact her people to see what's going on. I'll post their answer.
I need Denise Austin back on TV she really help me in the moring and every since she has been off, I have not be working out and I need back on lifetime!!!!!!
ReplyHelp get her back on........
A year in half ago I decided to try Denise Austins DVDS...they really work...I lost over 50 pounds.I don't know if she will ever see this but she has made a huge difference in my life! Thanks Denise for everything.
ReplyWow! I gues I'm not alone ha guys? I've been trying to plan how to motivate myself & go to plan B since Denise disappeared! But there's always hope right? My first choice is Denise! If we can bring her back, LET'S DO IT!
ReplyI exercised with Denise Austin five days a week 10 years,
beginning with her first program. Fit and Lite kept my osterporosis in line and my body lean and fit. I belong
to three dance clubs and enjoy hiking. Are any of these
programs on tape? I really miss the morning exercises.
My chronical age is 87.
Thanks, Denise
ReplyI have been waiting for Denise to come back to Lifetime and she's not there. Why isn't any station listening to so many of us? There are so so so many women who want to see Denise come back. Can someone tell me if she is on ESPN in Southern California? I can't find her anywhere! Help - my fitness has really gone downhill since I haven't exercised with her. It was EVERY morning for a FULL HOUR! HELP!

ReplyIam so sad.I have been exercising with denise since I was 11,I am 34 now.I have a 3yr old son so have gained weight from him,I do yoga, but really have enjoyed her shows from 6am-7am,I use slimquick hoddia now & wow it works,my tummy is getting flat, for once I feel skinny & I not hungry,it really works,This lady at work told me about it & I thank her so much, but I hope they bring denice back,I have had so much torture in my life, but waking up to her made life easier, bring her back please!
ReplyPlease bring back Fit and Lite or make it available on DVD. I have tried many different fitness regimes and this is the only one that has worked for me. I got up every morning at 6:00 when I heard the music for the beginning of the program. I truly was in great shape during the year that I worked out with Denise! I have bought a few Denise Austin DVD's but they don't have the same successful combination as Fit and Lite. PLEASE make it available. Thanks.
ReplyI would work out with Denise every morning while in Chicago and one day this wedding show came on and I never saw the show again. Denise had me in the best shape ever and my donkey was right. Now I'm in Toledo, Oh and still no Denise. Its time for a chnage and that means bring back one of the best exercise experts around. Denise Austin Morning Exercise Programs are being requested in Toledo!
ReplyPlease bring back Denise Austin's Fit & Lite program. I got so much out of this program, it made me want to get up in the morning to do something good for myself.
ReplyI totally agree with all of the comments....I watched Denise's Fit & Lite program faithfully every day and it had made such a fantastic difference in my energy level, fitness and motivation. The new show is not the same and I hope Lifetime will bring her back. I would alos Love to have the Fit & Lite shows. PLEASE come back Denise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
