Campbells Joins the Diet Bandwagon

Following on from the cunning initiative from General Mills, Campbells Soups have released a website showcasing their "Soup For Life" diet plan.

Responding to the 2005 US Dietary Guidelines, Campbells have been quick to come up with this 1200 calorie per day plan (with 1600 and 2000 calorie options).

Their biggest battle has been to meet the sodium requirements (the guidelines now recommend 2,300 mg per day). Processed soups are typically high in salt. Campbells have shown considerable restraint in listing only a single soup in their daily meal plans. Just as well as even their 1200 calorie plan shows a daily sodium intake of 2,290 mg ! Apart from this the meal plans look good!
