KFC Overtakes China: Obesity To Follow?

KFC is set to open another 275 outlets in China following an extremely successful year (source Adrants).

President of Yum Brands Chinese division (KFC's parent company) makes this disturbing comment:

"In many parts of China, the local municipal governments actually view the arrival of a KFC as a sign of the city coming of age,"

If China follows the pattern of every other country engulfed by fast food - it too will have it's own set of obesity statistics. The proliferation of fast food outlets such as KFC is not only about loads of fatty food, but also a mindset of gulping down food, and eating on the run. How sad.
