The Experts: We're Not Sure If Diet Plans Work
So some more university 'experts' do some more reviewing, and tell us there isn't really enough research indicating popular weight loss plans work.
The researchers who conducted the review published in yesterday's Annals of Internal Medicine stressed that the lack of scientific evidence should not be viewed as an attack on diet programs.
Here's an idea. How about putting as much research into the causes of weight gain - particularly in the food industry. Or is it that the food lobby is just a bit too powerful?
Okay, so we eat too much and sit down too much, but what about some of the nutritionally-poor processed food that fills our shopping aisles and cafes? You know, the stuff that's advertised to our kids from the moment they can open their eyes?
Diet plans can and do work - but along with them go things like consistency, dedication, and exercise.
I for one am getting tired of the confusing mish-mash of advice that popular media (in parrot-like fashion) reports from the so-called authorities.
There's already plenty of research that show that eating less and exercing more makes you lose weight. Most diet plans are simply structures for accomplishing that. Change your eatng and exercise habit to be more healthy for life and you will lose weight. It's as simple as that.
I'm doing it right now at:
