Starbucks To Add Hot Food

Just when you thought it was safe to go and grab a coffee from Starbucks... They've now decided to add hot food to their menu. Currently 12% of their profit comes from food items such as muffins and cookies.

Apparently the food tastes like crap and is over-priced.

"They are brought in from caterers and reheated, not cooked fresh on the premises like McDonald's pancakes," Sine said, adding that it's not a good match for Starbucks' high-quality coffee since the pure coffee aroma is what attracts most customers in the first place."

Personally I don't agree that Starbucks has high-quality coffee... Give me an independent coffee shop anyday where they don't call coffee sizes ridiculous names like "Tall" and "Grande". In Starbucks you pay for brand - not good coffee.

The best thing if your watching the weight is a long black, or espresso with no milk. Failing that, add some trim milk. Whatever you do - watch those over-the-top sugar-laden Starbucks specials.

ah espresso! what crappy re-heated food can compete with a nice double shot of concentrated caffeine?
