Anna Nicole Smith - The Truth About TrimSpa

In a candid interview, Anna Nicole Smith explains what it was REALLY like trying to lose weight with the TrimSpa diet pill. It's an interesting follow-up to this post, when the celebrity first revealed her 'new' shape.

The sad truth of most (if not all) diet pills, is that there are side effects - different for different people. Unfortunately many people tend to abuse the diet pills, causing over-reactions (e.g. Ephedra).

Anna Nicole says "You eat, like, small portions and you do it for, like, two weeks, and also they have a colon cleanser and you're just, like, on the pot all the time... You lose that weight quickly."

Doesn't sound much fun. Trimspa gained a huge amount of exposure from the celebrity endorsement, but I'm afraid that nothing can ever match good ole' healthy diet and exercise for long term weight loss.

I'm sure it's common-- especially since all diet pills have some for of a stimulant. Stop taking it and get to the doctor! You do not want to injure your heart.

I have recently lost 5 stones in weight and though still trying my weight loss came to a halt and i have gained another stone, but I am eating a healthy diet and exercising I'm looking for a diet pill to help me lose my extra 2 stones could this be for me?

Kimberly on 05/03/05

Natalie- I don't believe that any diet pills are the answer. This can equal addition, unsatisfaction, harm or even death to your body. Even if all diet pills claim to be "natural", there is nothing natural about what substances they are combined with and what they do and can do to your body. You can't go on pills and crazy diet the rest of your life... Make the choice to continually eat healthy and exercise. The fault of society today is instant gratification. Weight loss is can be slow and its always work, period. There are many natural choices that promote weight loss and a healthy body like: green tea (a HUGE list of benefits like metoblism booster, colon cleasner, antidioxidants, ect.) eating organic yogurt (that has a least four active live cultures), whole grain and natural foods. Diet Pills ARE NOT the answer!

Is it true that a judge in utah has lifted the ban on ephedra and you can now get it again as long as it is 10mg?

you're better off getting centrum vitamins and taking 1 regular and 1 energy formula (i know it says to take only 1 a day, but i've found that i get much better results taking 2 varietys of centrum) and L-Carnitine + drink Green Tea. L-C is a supplement takin by professional body builders to burn fat/increase metabolism. it's kinda underground, so you have to look it up. and green tea is increases metabolism & "cleans you out."

My advice is to not take any sort of diet pill. If you are looking to lose weight, do so naturally with diet and exercise, increasing whole grains and vitamins such as chromium and bee pollen. Also taking colloidal minerals (active-colloidal-minerals.com) AND do not eat anything pre packaged or any food that contains partially-hydrogenated or hydrogenated oils in it. These trans fats are very bad for you and if you dont get the right minerals/nutrients, your body cannot perform the way it's supposed to. Also you're supposed to drink 1 qt of water per 50 pounds of body weight. To each of these quarts, add 1/4 tsp of imported sea salt (not california sea salt). This contains 80 minerals your body needs and it also helps to aid in body functions. if you dont like the taste of salt water, then you can lick it off your hand or put it in your food. If anyone wants any more information princess_perfect_84@hotmail.com Hope I helped change your mind. Diet pills ARE BAD and only contain artifical stimulants or nicotine which can cause you to crash.

Jessica, see a doctor. I'm speaking as someone who has been obese: anyone with quite a lot of weight to lose is better off getting a checkup before beginning any diet and exercise program.

Charity, stop taking the trimspa, it doesn't work, I researched it and it's just one of those pills that doesn't work, why don't you google these diet pills before buying and see what people have to say about them(just make sure it's not the pill manufacturer that's endorsing it) or go see your doctor, they have stuff out their now that works really well as an appetite suppresent without those jittery side effects, you only take it until you get used to eating smaller healthy meals then you go off without feeling that I'm hungry voice. By the way Anna Nicole Smith didn't lose the weight because of the pills, it was the small healthy meals and colon cleansers she was taking.

Hi. I'm 15 and I weigh 160 pounds. That's too much for my 5'5 frame. I wear about a size 10 pants and 8 shirt. I want to lose about 30 pounds but I just can't. I've tried many diets and now I just can't stick to it- I get really hungry and moody even after eating a reasonable amount of food. Any suggestions?

Reply

Can you tell me if Trimspa will work for me?

Reply
Jan on 01/08/06

Cinthia, I think you are too young to be considering dangerous diet pills. Also, 30lb will probably be too much weight for you to lose, so why not focus on something smaller, like 10lb for starters, and then see how you feel and how it looks? That is usually a full clothes size, 10lb.

You said that you get hungry after eating a "reasonable" amount of food. When you say hungry, do you mean stomach-hurts hungry, or just "I want to eat more" hungry? If it is the first, then what you think is a reasonable amount is way too little. If it is the second, it is a psychological desire to eat.

I think instead of focusing on portions for now, you should focus on changing what you eat. Eat a lot of vegetables, fruit, drink enough water (10 cups a day), don't eat anything fried or anything with sugar in it (by doing that you are essentially cutting out all junk), make sure to eat enough protein (skinless chicken breasts, fish, lean beef, etc.), try to eat whole grains/unprocessed foods whenever possible (whole-wheat bread, not white; brown rice, not white). I'm sure you'll lose weight without being hungry or taking dangerous diet pills.

As for the money you'd spend on diet pills, use it join the Y. Do some activity you enjoy there, at least 3x a week, everyday if you can.

Reply

Jessica: you should try to find exercise you like. Go walking 3x a week. If you don't like "just going for a walk", go run errands on foot, walk with a purpose. Or dance, or do anything else you find enjoyable.

Also try to eat more fruits and vegetables, no junk, etc. All the stuff I just said on the post right above yours.

I'm really scared reading the above posts from young women. What has our society become when a 14 or 15 year old girl is contemplating taking diet pills? If anti-depressants were the next big wave would we all jump on that bandwagon? First off you are young. Which means your body is holding on to some of the weight because it needs it. You didn't stop growing at 12. Baby fat does exist. You can't keep using the excuse when your 20, but at fifteen it's a reality. There is a wonderful line at the end of one of Billy Talent(punk band) videos "THERE IS LIFE BEYOND THESE WALLS" Well the simple truth is that's true. In high school I know that it can become all consuming and you really believe that your life will keep being what is currently is. But it won't After highschool you all emerge and most of time don't see anyone from there again. You grow and become your own person. Yes, we can be over weight most of us are. But jumping on a scale to count the numbers doesn't indicate much. Each body is different, a diet pill is never the answer. Take a non-medicated approach first. Here's a good starting point. Take every penny of what you are spending on pop and junk food and buy a piggy bank(one wihtout the hole in the bottom) Every time you would normally buy something junky put that money into the bank instead. Keep doing this, then at end of six months to a year break it open and count what you have saved. You should also notice a drop in the waistline to considering that you've stopped polluting your body with junk. Then go out and buy yourself something nice as a reward. Also if you stop eating crap you will notice that if you try to again it will either be too salty or sweet. Something that will taste disgusting to devour. Secondly get out and do something. Find another friend who you are comfertable with and get their support it will make a world of difference. If you want a first hand account of what medications can do email me and I'll tell you my story bestleftunsaid@hotmail.com. They can destroy your life is that worth it?

If you are under 18, you SHOULD NOT be taking TRIMSPA. Regardless of what you may think of the company, we do not want those under 18 to take TRIMSPA or any other dietary supplements. See your Dr. so that you can get a proper assesment before taking a supplement.

I'm 20 years old and I took Trimspa faithfully for 2 months...at first the results were great. I lost 7 lbs in a week...but after that the weight loss stopped and my heart started racing...even waking me up at night. I only kept taking them because I'm a college student and the extra energy helped me stay motivated in my school work...well after getting off the pills finally, horrible results occured. I gained back allll the weight, PLUS some extra. I reached a severe low after not having the extra energy everydya that trimspa gave me..as a result I became severly tired and sad. I thought I was going through a depression. After 2 weeks...I guess of getting used to not having the extra engery that Trimspa gave me and getting back to my normal routine, I felt much better. TRIMSPA is NOT worth it.

As a college student, I took nutrition class and my professor talked about diet pills. He stated that they don't really work, bad for your body, and when you stop taking them, you end up gaining back your weight and more. I considered trying diet pills before, but now I have changed my mind. It is just too risky. As my advice for people who want to try Trimspa, don't do it. First of all, if you read the package, it requires 3-4 pills a day everyday in order to it to "work." But then again does it work? Also it costs so much money. Why would you pay for something that costs a lot and does not even work, along with causing problems for your body. I have to say, there is no safer way out except for exercise and eat healthy foods.

I recently watched a show on VH1 that featured celeberty weight losses. Anna Nicole was on the show as number 3. They said she didn't excercise at all and still lost 30 pounds and looks so great. I weigh 225 and I'm sick of it. I want to try trim spa. I've been exercising on the Ab lounge and lost about 15 pounds. Now I am not losing anything and I'm still at 225. I am wondering if maybe trimspa can help SOME people and just give others negative side-effects. Is there any proof that trim spa can only do good?

The new version of TrimSpa is unlikely to do much for you. The old version contained the stimulant ephedra, which like any amphetamine or drug that increases heart rate and respiration may or may not actually help you lose any weight, but will probably make you "speedy". For those sensitive to stimulants like this, I would say stay far away. However, it's very difficult to find products with real stimulants anymore, as most have been reformulated as TrimSpa has been. I would bet that Anna Nicole had a LOT of help with her weight loss efforts - personal chefs, trainers, maybe even diet pills - but it probably had nothing to do with this lame overpriced product.

This is a good honest explanation of what the product is:
http://www.philkaplan.com/thefitnesstruth/trimspa.htm

Oh, and you girls under 18 who are worried about your weight - you should try relearning your eating and excercise behaviors before you get much older and end up overweight or just plain unhealthy, but for goodness sake, be realistic. Most of you describe yourselves as what I would say is a perfectly healthy weight for your height. What you probably need is better nutrition and more excercise. I wish someone had explained that to me when I was a teen, wondering why I was fat! It won't get easier as you get older, but you should understand what is reasonable as far as your weight goes and stop looking at the self-starved celebrities who can barely hold their own heads up because their bodies are so emaciated. Skinny ain't pretty and never will be.

I feel kind of silly writing on this, but I need to share my story. I have always been thin and have eaten whatever I wanted w/o a problem. In the past three years I have endured personal problems, medical problems and even had female surgery. This year I turned 40 and have a sedentary lifestyle although I have started eating healthier and exercising, but I can't seem to budge a pound of the 15 pounds I've put on. To look at me no one understands, but I am the fattest thin person. When I look in the mirror after a shower I have virtually no muscle tone. I do not over eat and I am lifting light weights for toning. Please help! I am so discouraged. It's like I turned 40 and everything dropped!

I am an 18 year old, 195 pound girl. I just graduated high school and now is when I have been focusing on my weight. All my life that I can remember, I've felt overweight, been made fun of, etc. Recently, I did try Trimspa. Bad idea. Sure, the first week was great.. 8 pounds gone! Whoo hoo. But then, all I got from that pill was a bad case of the jitters. Honestly, I don't like to exercise. I hate it infact. But you know, if you want something bad enough then you have to do it, right? Plus.. I LOVE sweet things. Well anyway.. my advice? Don't take Trimspa pills. I've found a way through a video game called Dance Dance Revolution to get all the exercise I need. It's a marvelous cardio workout, the newer verson even counts how many calories you've burned, and just how much it would be if you ran a mile or so. I think this is going to work for me, Trimspa sure didn't.
