Blood Type Diet Now In eDiets

Weight Loss giant eDiets have just added Peter D'Adamo's diet Eat Right 4 Your Type (a.k.a the Blood Type Diet). eDiets already have a stellar collection of diet plans in their system allowing users to choose the diet plan that is right for them.

The addition of the Blood Type Diet is peculiar - some people swear by it - but it seems to be 'weird science' to me. The basis of the diet is that you eat according to your blood type. Since most of us are blood type O - most of us will eat the same.

There is more about the blood type diet here.

39.1% Type A /29.4% Type O/ 21.5% Type B/ 10% AB. It is a change of eating habits. I have lost 24 lbs a year ago and maintained the same weight. I am an O Pos. Maintaining the Eat right for your Blood type eating habits has been very beneficial. I know of another 45 yr old Male who lost 30 lbs - O Pos. I believe the o Pos has the easiest of the Blood type to modify their eating habits. I look great at 179 lbs. 70% of the population is other than O Pos. Give it a try. It takes at least 6 weeks to really see a difference. I have the O Pos personality traits also. Thanks for the posting. Greg in Iowa.

Semi-scientific claims are also a problem. You hear something that sounds like evidence, but actually isn’t evidence enough. Dieters often feel better in the first weeks of a diet, simply due to the Placebo Effect and because they feel more in control of their lives. They also tend to control their calorie intake a little bit better when they mind what they eat, so their weight does drop. A few weeks down the line though, when they fail, they often blame themselves, not the fad diet. In their minds the diet is good, but they are “bad”.
