McDonald's Menu to Go on Diet in 2005
Associated Press: "Say goodbye to those super-sized fries - McDonald's is slimming down its menu. The hamburger giant has started phasing out its trademark Supersize fries and drinks in its U.S. restaurants as part of an effort to simplify its menu and give customers choices that support a balanced lifestyle, a company spokesman said Tuesday."

McDonalds is wrong to take off the super sized items on their menu. These people who blame McDonalds, only blame them because they don't want to blame themselves for being obese. I eat McDonalds a lot. I am not obese, and even if I was, it would be my fault in being fat. It's not the fault of super-sized fries or the drinks. This is not right. These obese people have a choice on the menu, they could have ordered a salad!!
Replyumm guess what? salads (the one with chicken and ranch dressing?) - their calorie is AS MUCH AS BIG MAC because of FREAKING SUGAR ADDED TO THE SALAD!!! so what is the difference? What is the CHOICE? WHAT ARE HEALTHY CHOICES???? NOOOOOOOONE, dude. NONE.
ReplyWell I must say that I agree with Eddy who wrote to you. Taking super-sizes off is very wrong. I live in Europe, so I only see those when I travel to the States. I like it being a possibility, and I agree, people have a choice to have the supers or not, especially now that salads have been introduced. I for one have had many large fries, and if the super size guy wants to keep up, then he can just order an extra small with a large and he's practically had a super size. My advice is, exercise, and then, whilst Mcdonald's may not aid your state of health, it is here to stay, when you exercise you're much less likely to become obese! Also try eating no more than once a week if that!
Replyeven if your not obese, it is unhealthy to have a supersized meal, i think it was right to take if off the menu, if you REALLY hungry then why not eat at a more filling take-away, or buy a snadwich from a delie. it is stll tasty yet more health adn filling than a burger and chips, plus the ingredents are fresh adn tasty, i know, im a chef in training. ^.^
ReplyI'm glad they're taking supersized stuff off the menu. I went to Central America for a while and there, the "super sized meal" comes with a large fries and a large soda. The normal meal comes with mediums. The point is, most people probably are satisfied with the mediums. How many people actually finish an entire super-sized fries?
Replywell i live in australia and i watched supersize me a little while ago and i think that you should take away supersize meals because so many people are obese and i think that the size of protions in the us are absolutely ridiculous....sometimes i would love to eat a supersize fries but i definately dont need it!!! people say we are goint through a obesity epidemic but its people like mcdonalds who encourage that...they dont say it but their food says it all!!!!!!!!!!!! you might not be fat but think about others who have been sucked in by it all.

Eddy, you seam to be forgeting something. It is easier to make a better choice when the better choice is the only choice presented to you. In other words, if you can't super size your meal because the option doesn't exist, it is easier to make the better, non-super sized choice, seeing as you don't have an option. And besides, the "large size" that replaced super size is the exact same size, so none of this even matters.
ReplyMcDonalds is a corporation founded originally by a person with a dream. They should be able to run the business how ever the hell they feel like it. People should stop complaining and do some situps. I'm getting really tired of people attacking corporations for personal gain. Can you imagine filing a lawsuit on a grocery story because you had been shopping there for years and suddenly got fat because you ate too many servings? LMAO. If you dont want to be fat, get on the treadmill and stop eating McDonalds, or at least stop ordering it supersized. Do we seriously want to tell a business "Stop making it so big, because we are freakin idiots and will continue to order it, so its your fault"?
ReplyI agree with Dwayne. Its stupid that all the obese people is suing McDonalds saying that they made them fat. NOBODY FORCED YOU TO GO THERE! So stop Eating there and get some exercise! Eat healthy and you will be healthy
Replylol, Sharon there is no way to get into your computer to do the survey, like other guy who didnt leave his name I am from Australia, and we dont have supersize. I have heard rummors that our large fries are the size of your small, and yet we are the 3rd "fatest" counrty. I find myself active playing aussie rules, so i dont have a fat problem, so it is easy for me to say that these kids who are sueing Maccas is another way not to blame them selves, but maybe if i were a "big boy" i would see it another way.
