Is the low-carb backlash beginning?
cnn.com: "Everything in moderation is ultimately where all these things lead to," said Douglas Conant, chief executive of Campbell Soup Co. "These diets become fad-like and take on lives of their own ... and typically they are not sustainable."
More like this in Low Carb
y'kno, i get frustrated with all the low-carb panic. this is not any different than the low-fat trend of a few years ago. it's just another apporach that works for some people where low-fat was difficult to maintain for those people. it was for me. i was miserable on low-fat diets.
and my gosh, i wish people would stop calling it a dangerous "fad." i'd be willing to bet those 40 pounds i've lost since november have helped my health! i feel better than i have in 20 years and now have the energy to exercise.
if they want to say low carb is dangerous for people, then don't just go by expectations from what people are eating. the body adjusts to changing habits and processes food differently. they need to give us some studies of people who have been following low-carb diets and show it being dangerous. otherwise, you're just talking out of your hat.
ReplyI have yet to see a large scale published study on low-carb. It seems like its Atkins vs. rest of the world and new people jumping into the low-carb trend to cash in on it.
