Atkins diet suits India's plate
THE TIMES OF INDIA: "A plus of the Atkins diet is that, being a low-carb programme, there is almost no weight-gain. Also, the diet can be easily adapted to the Indian context with beneficial results," says nutritionist Geetu Amarnani.

ReplyI Fail to understand professional people advising dr. atkins diet.
We have enough proof that dr. atkins diet should not be followed as it results in ketones generation and finally a patient suffers ketosis which untimately leads to severe health complications including death.
Wild statements made by professional can put lay people in serious health problems.
I would advice anyone thinking about atkins diet to look through the information and search before risking their own health.
ReplyHello,
ReplyKetosis is not a bad in general sense ! Dont confuse it with Ketoacidosis which is the condition found in Type I diabetics when person can not produce insulin and blood sugars go out of range dangerously. Ketones are produced when body starts using its source of energy by burning stored fats instead of glucose. This process is called lypolysis. Lyposis follows creation of ketones and hence it is called kytosis. Refer the recent result of maajor health study which ranked low carb diet above Meditternean diet and low fat diet.
