Americans in Denial About Their Weight

WebMD: "A new poll shows many Americans may be deluding themselves about their weight. The Gallup survey found that although more than half of those surveyed were overweight according to their BMI (body mass index, a measurement of weight in relationship to height), only about 40% think of themselves that way."

People like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Junior Seau have a BMI that indicates they're overweight - clearly it's muscle mass and not fat. So, if "more than half of those surveyed were overweight according to their BMI" and "only about 40% think of themselves that way" then perhaps the estimated 10-15% were muscular? just another side to consider...

just like any survey, one needs to consider statistical error, human and scientific variables and the number or people surveyed...

I agree with Rob. It's certainly possible americans are deluding themselves about their weight but this article in itself proves nothing.
