Full Body Lift Removed 30 Pounds of Skin

After losing 285 pounds from a gastric bypass surgery, this woman still had 30 pounds of excess skin hanging from her 5' 3" frame. This is the story (with some video and photographs) of the dangerous surgeries she had to undertake to repair the damage down to her skin.

NewsNet5: "Her doctor gave her a death sentence because an Arizona woman weighed a staggering 430 pounds. Tracy Hawkins lost 285, but her life remained in extreme danger. She was left with pounds and pounds of skin and had to go through several agonizing and life-saving surgeries. Reporter Kaley O'Kelly of NewsChannel5's sister station in Phoenix took us on an unbelievably dangerous journey with Hawkins."

Where are the photos? I'm considering a full body lift and can't find before and after photos anywhere. I admire this woman for going through the surgery and I hope to have her courage when it's my time.

That's weird. After loosing 285 her skin still hangs.

Not weird at all actually. Her skin hangs because of all the weight had strectched her skin, and as you age your skin has a tendency to lose its elasticity. My mom has had the same thing happen where her skin sagged when she lost weight. I don't know of anyway to fix that problem other than surgery. I need to lose weight myself, and I can only hope that my skin won't do that.

If yout way that much you are bound to have sagging skin, even if you were 16 and lost the weight the skin would still hang. I have a friend who lost 45lbs when he was 14 and still had problems with it 4 years later. And 45lbs is nothing compared to 285!

Can someone send me a link to some photos, too?? I am hoping that I will be needing a surgery like that soon!

I had lap band surgery a year ago and just have skin hanging everywhere. Did anybody finally get before/after pics? Does anybody have any idea what kind of approximate cost it is to do a full body lift in the U.S. versus a medical vacation overseas?

Cancer treatment (radiation) created me the problems of both a colosotmy and a urostomy. I lost 125 pounds and have gained back about 35 pounds. Would I be able to get a full body lift with having two stomas?

I stopped weighing myself at 233 lbs. I decided to loose weight, and from this, I know I lost over 90 lbs with diet and exercise. I HAVE LOADS of extra skin. I am WAY too young for such bothersome integument to be hanging off me like it does. It gets caught in clothes, it's difficult to sleep, to exercise, to move efficiently, etc. etc. CURRENTLY I am looking for a cosmetic (or Board certified Plastic) Surgeon. If Anyone knows how to help,or has a similar situation, please email me. I am now 21 years old, i DO smoke (but am willing to quit), and just want to be healthy and happy. Thanks.
