Miracle Ice Cream Diet

A couple of years ago I was in the police academy. I was about 40 lbs over my ideal weight. I was working out all of the time and I got more muscular but nothing dramatic. I started eating low-fat ice cream and eventually nothing else. I quickly dropped 30 lbs in about 2.5 months. I have slowly put the weight back on over the last couple of years. Lately I was thinking about how I lost the weight before eating nothing but ice cream. I know that this goes against everything we are taught but believe me it works. I'm going to start doing it again tomorrow.
Replyi just dont understand the people that say "i eat whatever i want when i want and i lose weight" i dont see how only consuming milk, sugar and cream can be good for you...ok, so you have calcium from the milk but what about nutrients and everything ELSE your body needs like carbs for energy...minerals and fiber from vegetables and fruits...you cant live off ice-cream forever and as soon as you start eating other things, your "ice-cream fad" was all in vain

Replythis is a terrible idea for a diet. eating such a high content of fat and bad sugars is bound to COVER your organs in visceral fat. just because you look slimmer because of a loss in body fat does NOT mean you are any healthier. a high protein medium carb and low fat diet is the only real way to lose weight in a healthy way. you cannot starve your body or carbs (atkins is terrible) or protein. without enough protein you will lose muscle and this is because YOUR BODY DIGESTS THE MUSCLE just like it does with fat. This is NOT what anyone needs and is absolutely detrimental to the body. to believe such a thing is healthy just because you lose weight is complete ignorance. focusing on overall health and not physical appearance is what is most important, and i can say that for everyone here
ReplyAny one think that it could be the calcium and not the actual Ice Cream itself? I have seen tons of stuff lately that talk about dairy products being beneficial to wieght loss but it usually boils down to the Calcium and most recently the vitamin D in the Dairy products (that by the way is often added or fortified into the milk). I have to say that with all the additives and controversy about milk products, I have wondered about just taking some suppliments of Calcium and Vitamin D to see if this could have the same results as thinks like the "milkshake" diet?

ReplyI thought that an ice cream diet souned kind of phony so I started to read all of your comments and it is kind of weird that it actually does work for some people!
I guess it just depends on what your body requires.

A few years ago my father was in the hospital (God Rest is wonderful soul). I remember not being able to stomach the hospital food, so the only thing I was able to eat was their ice cream and milk. My father was in the hospital for two weeks, and I ate nothing else for those two weeks. I discovered that I lost 10 pounds.
So actually I beleive it whe Umma said the lost 25lbs eating ice cream.

ReplyYou might want to check your meds. When I had to go on vicodin three times a day, I started craving ice cream until I was up to a half a gallon a day! I deliberately cut back the vicodin, finally going off it for 48 hours, the last 24 of which I had no craving for ice cream. So I think there may be something to that, although I admit I don't know what!

ReplyThose of you who claim to be losing weight eating nothing but ice cream (and a half pint a day at that) may be shedding pounds, but that doesn't mean you're healthy. As my doctor often emphasizes, skinny is not always healthy. It's better to be a LITTLE plump and eat a balanced diet than it is to maintain a 1000 calorie diet consisting mostly of junk.
Think about it logically. Eating ice cream just DOESN'T help you be healthy. Maybe you will lose a few pounds, but those pounds are likely not fat, and they will probably come back.
Also, no offense but a pint a day is just a LITTLE piggish and gross.

When my daughter Jana got born prematurely with only 1400grs I developed a diet I called 'Cream Diet' and applied it to lots of my patients (I am a naturopath and maker of sports shoes.)
I wouldn't back all the artificial additives and starches Dairy Industry squeezes into most ice cream brands though...So how about buying your own fresh cream, whip it and then put it into the freezer?
You may add some natural vanilla, a slice of fresh fruit like papaya, water melon, strawberry or similar (no banana;-))in case you crave for more taste.
The rest is nothing but EXERCISE to hinder your body from breaking down muscle tissue. For those who do it this way (athletes I treat usually start with a more vigurous scheme) weight loss is convincing, addiction or jojo absent and health during and after thre diet just great.
Initially, it shouldn't be done for longer than a week or two. Then fruit and vegetables should take over to keep a sound balance with our environment, then it can be repeated every half year or so.
I can only encourage everyone battling with eccess kilos to give it a try, best under guidance of an experienced, non-dogmatic naturopath who knows his way around in nutrition.
Be aware though that those with old ailments may experience an actualisation for when melting fat tissues they do set free silly prescriptions your doctors administered in the past in order to chronify your sickness and turn you into an addict of pills and injections.

ReplyIs so sad to read the attitude tha others give towards people tha are sicking for help. No 1 knows how an overweight person feels till they become 1. I was always a normal size person. Till my 2nd child. I don't blame d pregnancy, I blame the depression and people around me. I didn't feel prety or wanted. So I when from 130lb to 167lb been 5 3'. I tryed everything and nothing worked. But what I did I did it 4 others.. one day I decided to do it 4 my self. I teached my self tha we don't need to stuff our stomach. If we eat more veggies and fruits, 5% carbs and 40 protains.. we will eat a lot and become healty slim people. I'm now 130lb and headin to 125lb. That's my ideal weight. I'm spanish and our men like a little cusshing..lolzz.. to all overweight people.. don't listen and worry about others.. do it for ur self. And you will make it. But remember tha God loves u the same. Be positive. It takes time. But its worth it
Replyshe lost weight because she was eating near enough the same things every day, so the body had nothing to metabolise, so it just passed straight through, it is highly possible to loose weight through this method, but dont do it, as its just like starving your body
ReplyI weigh 282 lbs, I am also six foot tall. I crave ice cream all the time. What can I actuallly do to use that to an advantage. I need to loose weight. If I was happy in my body then I would not care, but I feel like since my injury and not being able to play softball... I am gaining out of control. I can't afford lap band and I could not stick on weight watchers for more then twenty pounds. I tried diet pills but I cant be on them anymore because I am prone to blood clots. I need help but everything seems pinned against me.
