Miracle Ice Cream Diet

Ananova: "Uma Thurman says she lost 25 pounds in six weeks before starring in Kill Bill - by stuffing herself with chocolate, ice-cream and pudding." Said Thurman, "Eating ice-cream, chocolate and pudding. I ate whichever desserts I liked and still lost 25 pounds because I didn't eat anything else."

Sure you did.

Hey, if all you eat in a day is a two slices of cheesecake, you're at ~1000 calories- well under the normal amount that even a dieting desk-tied non-exercising adult consumes in a day. Just don't expect to not be dizzy or violently ravenous in between.

I went on a fast food milkshake, ice cream, dessert and cereal diet a few years ago. I didnt mean to I just started craving calcium rich foods. I lost alot of weight ending at 115 lbs for my 5'5" frame. I even went to the doctor to find out if I was sick or something. Now I eat what I want and hardly eat any calcium and I've ballooned to about 150 lbs.

Nadia Snow

oh my god Allison that is not healthy at all. both of us have similar heights (I am 5'5 & 115) I really want to encourage you to drop down to your ideal weight (120lbs. is normal of your height) if you're craving calcium why not switch to skim milk, and low fat ice cream tastes just as good as regular!

Reply
Nikki

Wow, Allison wasn't even asking for advice, she was just sharing what worked for her. Don't jump on her and tell her what's unhealthy and what she should do. Geez.

And low fat ice cream certainly does taste worse. And it's not any better for you. Personally, I have never experienced any weight repercussions from ice cream. But everyone's different.

Nadia, this isn't meant to be rude, but but who made you the all knowing buddha of what is a healthy weight for Allison or for anyone else? Let alone to tell her she isn't healthy? 115lbs might be fine for YOUR 5'5" frame, but it may not be for her. Do you know her muscle mass? Do you know her bone density? No? Well then...

I am asking you as a concerned person who DOES need to lose weight to please keep your judgmental comments to yourself. A LOT of these people who post on here are already ashamed of their own self image and are trying to do something about it. They certainly don't need knee-jerk reactions like yours to make them feel worse. If you are happy with your body, that is great. But, that does NOT give you the licence to make others feel ashamed of theirs.

Please word your future comments with a little more couth.

Ali and Michelle, I absolutely agree with you in the support of the uniqness of each one of us and the weight, of course. Nadia's saying about the encouragement to lose weight, not about that having weight of 150lb is a crime. We are all unique and sometimes we may wish to be slimmer or to gain some weight. You cannot judge Nadia, nobody has such ability. Also, dear Alison, I'm sure that if you have an aim to lose or to maintain the weight, YOU can achieve it,that's why there's a blog - to help each other out to solve OUR weight problems, to SUPPORT each other and to ENCOURAGE to achieve OUR OWN targets.

Bsck to Uma Thurman' idea. If the ice cream, pudding and chocolate were high quality products, except for the sugar content those things are high protien and low carbohydrate. That would spark the idea that it really might be that grain products more so than sugar are our enemy. I'm not encouraging a sugar pig out however. Just a thought. If you want something sweet, just make sure it isn't cake.

Hi everyone!

I lost over 100 pounds by eating chocolate... it's possible that the ice cream thing worked. But there are cravings in between... like every few days you crave mac and chease or something! but that's ok, cos you just eat what you like, in my case it was mostly chocolate. I realised that i'm not a child anymore, so i don't have to eat "sensible" food before i can have my chocy! I don't like sensible food anyhow... so i just went straight for the desert! it's not the healthiest way to lose weight, but i did... i dropped from 264 to 149 (my current weight) and i'm 5'9. I still eat whatever takes my fancy for that particular day: today was spare ribs and fries... so tomorrow i probably won't be that hungry, so it will be a bowl of oatmeal, or ice cream or whatever i wake up in the mood for... may even be chocolate!

The thing is, you deserve to be happy and not be afraid of your body... if you don't want to eat for days on end... then don't! and if you feel like eating 5 pieces of cheasecake on one day.... then do that! and if you follow your instincts, you will probably not be hungry for cheasecake the next day, but for watermelon, or apples, or WHATEVER! what i realised is that i was overweight because i was afraid of offending the world by not eating real food, and then eating all the chocolate i could get because i was so guilty for wanting it!

in the end, the best diet is conveyed in two simple words: F**K IT! eat what you like, no one's going to beat you up about it! (unless you have diabetes or something). Ultimately you find your own balance- WHEN YOU ARE READY!!!

Love and hugs to you all!!

You are a goddess! Eat when & what ... that is the real deal because you are absolutely right* I am conforming to "good" food standard and am excruciating overweight the more I rebel "eating right". I don't know when hard headed me started to cave in... But you just pointed the way out (for this old lady) Thanks, thank you cat (where ever you maybe 2008)

Hey,

losing weight is hard. It is not easy like some may say. it takes a lot of dedication and a strong mind. My suggestion--Find a faith. whatever your belive is rely on it to guide you through your weakness, it helps.

Also dedicate yourself to one thing at a time and you will find that it becomes easier to keep promisises to yourself. Not easy but a little easier, it never gets easy.

maybe your promise to yourself is to walk 10 minutes a day or maybe its no tv after 6 or mamybe its look at your self naked in the mirror everyday for 30 seconds sounds weird but it really helps

Hi Bobbi Jo
I understand where you are coming from... You do the diets, exercise, 'eat right', etc... but nothing works...
The best thing that I have learnt to do is saying positive affirmations everyday... this helps me to have a more positive outlook to the day... once you start believing the affirmations.. things start to change.. the first one you should use is "I love and approve of myself" - whether you feel this way or not, say it over and over during the day and surprisingly things will start to change once you start believing this affirmation... try saying it in a mirror and really concentrate on looking at your inner self... (this is a bit scary to start with, but it's great to help you find your inner beauty and strength to change what YOU want to change!)
Good Luck with this, I am still doing it and am slowly losing the weight... it's kinda like that TV commercial... 'it won't happen over night....' lol
Keep Smiling!

I wish i could help everyone lose weight, its not as hard if you have someone to encourage you. I know how it feels being fat and feeling ugly, but its not as hard to lose weight. Encouragement, Patience and a cheat day once a week is the way. Impatience and deprievation is the root of failure.

I just happened to come by this site while looking to see if any other cats, ate ice cream besides mine. A funny link to me here and after reading these comments, I choose to leave my own.
There is only one sure healthy way to loose weight and that is with diet and excersise. Change from three to six meals a day and make them smaller. Drink plenty of water and elevate your heartrate for at least 30 minutes a day. If all you are doing is walking, walk faster, but walk. Our mothers and grandmothers were thinner because they worked harder and they were physically active all day, we live in an age where we don't even have to stretch to turn the lights off, we can just clap or say "Off". I am 32 years old and like every one else, I struggle every day to keep weight off. If you want to maintain your weight, keep your calories per day around 2000 and if you want to lose, keep your calories around 1200-1400.

i do this!!! All the time!!! i'm 5"4 and 100 lbs, and some days, i just eat ice cream or chocolate as long as my calories don't go over 1500, then i wont gain weight!!

i look for the lowest calorie diet ice cream. An entire 1 litre container of sheer delite ice cream is only 480 calories. i'll eat the whole thing in a day, and have 1020 calories left over for other things!! Or, i can eat an entire family sized block of cadbury chocolate for about 1100 calories. Even if you don't want to eat like that all the time, for health reasons, a few junk food only days with a calorie limit of 1200-1500 WILL see you losing or maintaining your weight, NOT gaining!!

i still choose the diet options most of the time though, even on my junk food only days. Instead of real cheesecake, which is very expensive calorie wise, i make "chocolate cheesecake" by mixing an entire container of extra light cream cheese with weight watcher's hot chocolate powder. 360 calories and tastes just like chocolate cheesecake :)

Hey everyone. i'm trying to lose weight desperately, wish to look and feel better. I suppose i'm tired of being as big as I am. I am 5.4 and was 156 pounds, over 14 weeks i managed to get to 143 pounds, it was frustrating like hell.. I managed this by eating 1400 cal a day, but am really dissapointed for the last 4 weeks i've lost nothing. Now i've decided to eat light breaky, 5 fruits during the day, and a meal later , 1-2 biccys (can't help it) and hope by sticking to 1200 calories a day, i can start to shift the weight again ? Any advice and support welcomed. Thanks

Sammy,

Every time you drop your caloric intake, your body compensates and drops you metabolism to match. You will keep eating fewer calories, but your body will burn fewer as well. This will not result in weight loss. You should decide how much you want to weigh, multiply that times 10 and consume that many calories during the day. If you want to weigh 125, eat 1250 calories per day. The body needs 10 calories per day to sustain 1 pound of body weight. You may not notice weight loss dramatically, however if you consistantly maintain this caloric intake, your body will metabolize until it is the right weight for the 10 calorie to 1 pound ratio. This isn't magic; it is simple physiology. Best wishes for your success and happiness.

I believed her! If she only eats chocolate, pudding and ice cream all day long. How can she possibly gain any weight? I most she probably consume is 700-1200 calories?

Advice: I don't suggest anyone going with this method for losing weight though. All the sugars you are consuming is extremly unhealthy and not worth it. You want to burn fat and muscle. Only way is Eat what you like and REMEMBER to count your calories intake. As long as you go below your recd daily intake. You are sure to lose weight. Let your taste buds be satisfied by giving it special treats like chocolate or snack on dried fruits. Excercising 30 minutes a day or more to burn off calories and fat.

I am 5ft2 and I used to weigh about 139 then I dropped to around 100 pounds or less. I didn't lose the weight healthy and I ended up loosing too much weight. I had an eating disorder. I used to starve myself and only eat very little which wasn't even 1000 calories a day because of ding that I am pretty sure my metablosim slowed. I read online about how people crah diet and then gain all the weight back. Although I am doing much better now whenever I eat alot I am worried that I am just going to gain all the weight back even though I excercise and I don't always overeat just usually at special occasions. Now since it is the holidays I know that I am going to eat more. Is there anyway for me to not gain too much weight?

You got that dead right. Look people, Cereal grains may be there 30,000 years ago, but studies have shown that when people added cereal grains into the diet, diseases erupt, and I think I know why grains, even whole grains are not good for you.

Actually, we still have the genetic make-up of Cro-Magnon. In fact, we are still cro-magnons. Early cro-magnons did not eat grains, but when these humans introduced agreculture including grains, health problems erupted. Autoimmune diseases, bacterial and viral infections, and plagues wiped out population massive amounts of population, but people were lucky enough to have babies, which barely kept us moving along. Sanitations and better hygiene improved our lifespan during the last hundred years, but heart disease erupted during the past few decades.

Another evidence is that many of our cows are fed grains. During the time when excessive grain consumption was introduced, cows fattened up. Some cows even developed diabetes before being slaughtered. The fact is, these antinutrients in the grains blocked the cells ability to metabolize the carbohydrates in the grains. So, the cow produces more insulin, and stores the carbohydrates as fat. Therefore, the meat marbles with fat. Furthermore, the grains blocks the absorption of the omega 3 fatty acids, surrenges the omega 6 fatty acids, and causes inflamed arteries.

And if our cats are overweight by that kibble you gave him, it's because of the cereal grains they put in our pet's food.

So, Imagine what grains are doing to you. It depletes the anti-inflamitory omega 3 fatty acids from your bloodstream, causing an increased risk of heart attacks and diabetes. It also causes auto-immune attacks by the gluten and the other proteins in the whole grain, and it causes vitamin and mineral deficiency from their defence system. Grains have a defence system that produces anti-nutrients to protect from bird and other animals from consuming the plants. These chemicals leaches into your cell, damages your recepticals, and it makes it harder to absorb the necessary vitamins that builds your defence your system. And if you have a weakened defence system in your body, you will get sick, and suffer a host of degenerative diseases. That's why, 30,000 years ago, humans got sick and diseased after eating cereal grains. They were cro-magnons. And just like cats and dogs are so-called "domesticated" animals, we are still wild animals that live on fruits, vegtables, nuts, and wild meat. Cows are still animals fed grass. Dogs and cats are supposed to eat meat (well, dogs can have some vegetarian in the diet), but not any animal is designed for grains.

Is ice cream bad for you? Well, not if the cows' milk the ice cream came from were fed grass, not grains, and was sweetened up with stevia, not sugar or aspartame.

I tell you what, ice cream might taste good, but I saw a recent special on how some of the CEOs of ice cream factories died from heart attacks. Nope, I stay away from the ice cream as much as possible. Now if I could only get away from frying everything in delicious pig lard. Yummy!

Just happened to be on site and read your posting that came up just now. Yes I have used their 90-day inspiration plan about 2 months ago and have to say its every bit as good as they claim. Shed inches very quickly and lost so far 28 pounds. It comes with a simple eating plan that takes over after you finish the 9 bottles that come with the plan.

The last time I was on their web site they were still offering it at a wholesale discount which I found very reasonable price wise. I have tried plenty of plans and diets over the years but for me anyway this worked better than expected. Its definitly worth trying... in my opionion. Hope this helps.

Marie I too have tried the slim boost herbal tonic. It is an excellent product that has other benefits, at least in my experience. I dropped pounds but the bulgy fat deposits on my legs went away and because it helped detox my body my skin is smoother and even. I have spent much more on different diet aids before but this stuff did the trick for me.

I am 5'4 105lbs. I exercise 6 days a week. I usually run 4 miles a day, and bike 4 miles a day.Sometimes I only bike, and some days I only run, it just depends on how I feel. I also play lots of tennis. I love ice cream and I eat it quite a bit. I dont worry about what I eat that much when I am exercising because I usually am not that hungry or crave ice cream. However, on my off day I crave ice cream and snack fooods all day long! I would like to know why that is, and what I can do to control the craving.

If you get busy doing other things, you won't think about eating much.Because on your off day,you are probably at home and have nothing to do and you eat.But that's my opinion.Desserts which are made from milk don't make people fat.So don't worry about eating ice cream. And you say you move alot this means you shouldn't worry even if you crave ice cream and food all day long sometimes.

I just had to reply to your post. My late father worked for Nestle in South Africa for many years. my father never struggled with his weight but was a chocolate addict.

He started eating too much chocolate and was surprised that he was starting to loose weight. He went to see his doctor to find out what was wrong and guess what? It was the chocolate! He had to stop eating so much of it as it was causing him to loose too much weight.

So eating lots of chocolate does not neccessarily make you a fat ass......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there guys, this is a funny site but I thought I'd add my 2 cents worth seeing the icecream diet worked for me but I came across it accidentally I didn't even know such a diet existed. I'm an athlete who has always had to watch her weight due to weight classes. I would exercise about 6-9 hours a day and would burn off more then 3000 calories a day no probs and have seen every nutrionist and doc there was seeing I was a rep for my country I always got given the same thing lots of small meals high protein low carbs etc it was real funny cause I was 5ft1 and weighed about 135pounds but my body fat was like 13% however everyone thought I could lose more seeing I was so tiny, Anyway it got to the point where weight would not come off me and I had to eat only lettuce and do the same amount of exercise as you could imagine as soon as my event was over I decided to rebel and eat what I loved most ice cream and chocolate all day every day and only that for like a month after coming back. It was weird cause all of a sudden the weight melted off I lost about 20 pounds with out trying and I was never hungry like I seriously ate as much as I wanted whenever I wanted. I put it down to some chemical imbalance in my body but hey it worked for me and now whenever I need to make weight I just eat ice cream

;)

you guys this is so true!!!!! My mom thought I was crazy but I told her I was on a primarily ice cream diet, I thought I invented it, but apparently it a real thing. Anyway, it started out as a food craving, my body wanted vanilla bean haagen daz and nothing else, so thats what I ate. Generally I get the cravings mid spring and it lasts into the summer, and what has been happening is that between 3-5 days a week I will be hungry for the ice cream and nothing else. I'll either go through a whole pint in one sitting or do half for breakfast and the other half for dinner. I dont get hungry through out the day either.

Recently my roommate started doing it too after he had some oral surgery and could not eat solid foods. He's dropped about 10 or 15 lbs in about 3 weeks. Its funny because even though I could see that weight was coming off me, it seemed as if one day I had just all of a sudden dropped a lot.

My ice cream has about 1024 calories per pint so even eating an entire pint I have to lose weight because of the caloric intake being below 1500. I mean come on you guys, its not rocket science, you can eat anything you want as long as its in moderation.

Also I would like to add that I am not adding burgers and fries on top of it. The fat content of the ice cream pint pretty much contains your fat allotment for the day, making you feel full and less hungry. The calories are not empty, your body works all day to break it down, it does not just immediatly store it as fat. ***Ever notice how you never feel quite satisfied eating low fat and fat free foods? Most people just go and eat twice as much and end up gaining more weight.***

Carbs are the real enemy to weight loss. The reason being, they are so easy to break down for fuel, your body goes for them first and then just stores the fat. It does not take as much energy to break down.

Complex carbs and proteins, and fats on the other hand, make your body work (hence burning calories).

Anyway, I hope this makes sense, it may sound a little sketchy do to the fact that I was up studying all night. Anyway, I wish everyone luck in their endeavors.
